WS Friends:
I am remembering how we counted down the days to this trial, cheering the judge's decision to allow courtroom camera and live stream. I think the sporadic streaming we finally got was the result of our combined flooding of local media with tweets and emails. Some of us even contacted the mayor....:blushing:

Five more days until trial resumes. Shall we prepare to take action on Monday if no live stream?

Been missing you too Nymeria. As much as I'd love to stage a march on Phoenix, it is even hotter there than here, and the drive is about three-and-a-half-hours too long for me. Besides if I was there, I'd just toss my torch and no-fair sign and go into the nice, cool courthouse to watch Juan at work. Wouldn't get much protesting done. Having said all that, I guess I'll settle again on emails and a few tweets. I tend to prefer emails as I can get my point across much better in more than 140 characters.

On the docket:

7/9/2014 MOT - Motion - Party (001) 7/9/2014
NOTE: Motion to Preclude Witness Untimely Disclosed
--
Dunno who filed but since defense is coming up next week I'd suppose it came from JM?

Miss you all too (but Mondays almost here :)), oh, I have a question - is the defense using Shot Spotter for part of their defense or was that just the prosecution? Thought I recalled a couple minute entries where it seemed the defense filed some motions about it, memory is spotty there though and I don't feel like trawling through the minutes to find or not find anything.

I'm just wondering who all defense may be calling and how long their c-i-c may be. I'm hoping Hulsey will testify, mainly because we'll likely get live stream if he does, and would love to see JM taking care of business with him. eeeevil me.

One last thing, when I was at the docket there's a notice that MCSC site will be down Sunday night for a few hours for maintenance so keep it in mind if you'll want to look something up before we get going again.

This long of a break seems so disrespectful to Officer Holly's family and friends. What if the jury can't remember testimony from before? This is nuts. IMO

I know! Same thing happened in Marissa deVault trial. There was a three week vacation in the middle of the trial...AZ of course. Crazy way to put on a trial.....imo.

The defense will be using Shot Spotters:

Police technology to be used in Hulsey defense

Snip:

Unseen "ears" recorded the sound of each bullet fired during the February 2007 shootout that left Glendale police Officer Anthony Holly dead and resulted in the ongoing capital murder trial of Bryan Wayne Hulsey.

Now, Hulsey's defense attorneys hope to use the information gathered by those ears to prove the bullet that killed Holly wasn't fired by Hulsey, according to court documents.
