Link to the Joseph Wood case..........Can't say I have any sympathy for him. No one knows if the "noises/behavior" after the sedation were a sign of consciousness or just the body shutting down, except after an autopsy is done.

No sympathy here. It bothers me that it takes 23 years to execute someone though. It needs to be done ASAP.

Why has this trial seemed so tedious? Anyone else feel this way?

It has seemed to drag forever, even once trial finally began.

I'm quite worried about how JA's retrial is going to feel, with only tweets and possibly articles after each day's events. We ought to get a wider variety of tweets but having to sit and read and only mentally visualize what's going on is going to be difficult.

Didn't they file paperwork earlier today saying the cocktail was an experiment? Holy freaking moly. I saw the part of the stay because he was still alive more than an hour and a half later, no one deserves that kind of death.

The appeal was because Arizona wouldn't release the info about the cocktail.
There's also the slight possibility that the convicted killer was able to get his hands on a stimulant type of drug right before the execution......anything is possible down there in Florence, even if the inmate is on death row.

It's too bad LE didn't have a better aim, and there would have been nothing to "house" for 23 years. But Wood was just wounded by the gunshot fired at him when he was apprehended.
It's all about the rights of the perpetrators.

Seriously, just OD them on heroin.

See you all here tomorrow. I really hope they will have rebuttal streaming. I gave up after the frozen screens and no sound.

Thanks Bernina for posting all the tweets. I would much rather rely on you. :)

Seriously, just OD them on heroin.

They could. I just don't believe murderers should have a painless execution. This 🤬🤬🤬 shot his girlfriend's dad once in the chest, then hunted her down in the body shop, and put one in her gut and another in her chest.
After LE shot him numerous times when he went to pick up the .38 he had put down at LE's insistence, 10's of thousands of $ were spent for his medical care.
I can just see this going into a lawsuit......more $'s down the drain that a 50 cent bullet could have taken care of years ago.
I have no sympathy for killers.

The trial has been difficult from the start. First, so many delays, then the problems getting a stream. Today was exhausting!

Closing is getting wrapped up this morning in #bryanhulsey. 10:30am MST and then we r on verdict watch! Think it will be quick or not?

  • #813
I think there will be a verdict today. Wishful thinking.

  • #814
I think there *should* be a verdict today, but it is AZ after all, where nothing moves at the pace it should. lol

Tell Jen Hello right back, and thanks for all of her efforts and dependability. :)

Some random thoughts to get out of my head because they kept me up til 3:00 in the morning, and since I have "old lady's disease" (menopause, ok?) that gives me insomnia anyway, among the other 33 wonderful symptoms...........and I'm cranky:

1. Illegal immigrant children:
If they REALLY had relatives in the US, why didn't those relatives just send them a plane ticket?
Take them BACK to the Port of Entry's and just push them over into Mexico.
We have uncountable homeless and abused children in our country. Don't they have preference for food, shelter, and education?
What is the point in transporting these illegal children farther into the interior of the USA?

2. Joseph Wood, the convicted murderer who took too long to die:
He murdered a young woman and her father, did he CARE how long their family has suffered?
He's getting more air time than his victims or their family ever got, is there something wrong with this picture?
He's finally dead........if people have a problem with HOW he died, let's plug in Ol' Sparky, use the gas chamber, gallows, or firing squad.
There are many people with terminal illness who suffer tremendously and don't have the choice to end their suffering, aren't they more entitled to a compassionate and humanitarian death than this 🤬🤬🤬?

3. Israel:
Any other country who systematically kills off another culture is guilty of genocide. I don't care whether they, or Christians, think they'e God's chosen people, that doesn't give them the right to kill 100, 200 Palestinians for every Israeli who dies.
This "Holier than Thou" baloney, land grabs, and murder of innocents has gone on for close to 60 years.
For 3 major religions, Christian, Jew, and Muslim, Israel is the birth place and/or the center of many of their beliefs.
If Israel CAN'T "play well with others", it's time to disband that country and send them packing back to Europe and parts they hail from.
Not trying to offend anyone, religious beliefs aside, but I can only think one day, the Middle East is going to say "enough is enough".

Random thoughts, clearing my head, looking forward to Juan's final closing......putting it out there again:
Murder 1.
No Aggravating Factors. (No Meth Defense here)
Death Penalty.
