Hi
I'm sure the casings would have been found right? So if I am hearing this correctly when the police officers interviewed this little boy. They knew all this forensic information already? This information isn't back yet is it?How would they know this and why would they tell this little boy this if they didn't know this. That's wrong.

I can fully understand why Ms. Romans is upset. Letting this boy go home for Thanksgiving is not appropriate. While he may be 8, he calmly and coldly killed two people.

AGREE!

I certainly wouldn't want to be his mother's neighbors

IMO Forget all the legal mumbo jumbo. This is a child that we ALL agree needs some hard core serious help. The only way he can get the help he needs is if they know the TRUTH. He isn't going to get LOP, DP or even be in jail. He'll be in some secure therapeutic facility. That's exactly where he needs to be.

Hi
Is the results back or made public yet of the autopsy reports?I'm sorry I do not know about guns at all.I will not have them in my house.I'm a little confused. This articles says "Crime Scene video released by police show four casings inside the house. One by Romero’s listless body, the other three on the staircase."and then it says Andreas said detectives told them the boy fired four shots at his father Vincent who was walking upstairs, and then six shots at Tim.There are only 4 casings?Shouldn't there be 10?were any casings found out side? The boy did say he shot at the car.I'm sorry I just do not know about guns at all.I don't understand this.I wonder if there was some one else in the house.

The autopsies on both victims have been done. They have not been released to the public but have been turned over by the Prosecutor to the Judge and defense.

In the article they just mentioned the ones found in the home that was around the fathers body. I am sure other casings were found outside around the front area of the home including the porch.

That has to be very tough to take knowing her husband and her girls' father will never get to celebrate Thanksgiving or another day with them. They have to be in dismay........understandable so.

Hi
I just want to see proof this little boy did this and I would like to see if the evidence fits.I would like to hear from this child why.But we may never know this.

Hi
How many times do they know each person was shot and where from the autopsy report.Where can I get all this information. This isn't adding up for me.

suzanne

They will know that from the autopsies. They will know exit wounds and entrance wounds. They will find either bullets still lodged in the bodies or if they went completely through the body. If so, they will find the bullet or bullet fragment in the vicinity of the crime scene, mostly likely embedded in something like into a door or wall.

I didn't learn his name through links concerning the video (not that I have used his name) but the full name is on a link with court information provided to the public, by the court clerk.

I do agree with not necessarily using his name since he's a minor, however.

Agree. I read it in the article and was shocked they had printed a minor's name. I am sure whatever the source was (I used a link here on WS) has since edited his name out. I don't think posters were being malicious in using his name though, it was definitely out there in the first couple days.

I too understand their dismay. I also understand the boy's Mother wanting him home for Thanksgiving.

You know what I'm thinking? I bet Mr. Roman tried to run away out the door, that's why he had so many shots and fell just outside the door.

Hi
I thought the same thing too.He was trying to run out the door.

that is possible, but the blood trail leads me to believe he was headed towards the door from his truck, i believe they said he was found dead very close to the front door and there was an approximate 8 yard (24 feet not short) trail/trickle of blood leading from near the truck to where he was found.

i was also reading the documents released today - the state is moving to dismiss count 1 ? count 1 is the killing of his father. why would they do that?

Prosecutors want 1 murder charge dropped against boy
Associated Press
ST. JOHNS - The Apache County Attorney is seeking to dismiss one of two murder charges against an 8-year-old boy who is accused in the shooting deaths of his father and another man.
The motion filed late Friday seeks the dismissal of the first-degree murder charge stemming from the death of the boy's father. The boy is also charged with first-degree murder in the death of 39-year-old Tim Romans, his father's roommate.
The motion explicitly allows the refiling of the charge if it is granted.

just watched a video and read about it at

http://www.azfamily.com

neither side would give any explanation for it (gag order) and it doesnt give a reason in the document filed either, it just says "in the interest on justice". and that they can refile the charge at any time.

either they think someone else did it, or they are being sympathetic to the boy and not charging him for his father's murder and feeling that justice is still served as long as he is charged with one count of murder.

or as i just read that there is something they cant figure out about the case and they arent ready to procedd with charges just yet, so maybe something came up that offers some other explanation? or just has them stumped right now.

seems very odd to me.

Hi
I wonder why. They did something like this in Darlie Routiers case. She was accused of killing her sons Damon and Devon, she was prosecuted for and convicted only of Damon's death because there was no proof of her killing her other son.

None of this makes a lick of sense to me unless the DA wants to just charge him for Romans now so he will do juvie time and then will file charges later on the father's murder. There is no time limit on when murder charges have to be brought. It could happen 10 years from now or even later.

Good grief, this is strange. Vincent Romero was murdered and was still dressed in his jacket, jeans, boots and even his hardhat.

The reason why Darlie Routier was not charged with the murder of both boys, is because if for some odd reason she was found not guilty of the murder of one of the boys, she could be tried for the murder of the second boy. No jeopardy would be attached.

It was a fall back position.

Prosecutors often do that......

For those of you who don't think an 8 year old could do this....

I worked with a 9 year old who was in a car chase/shoot out with the police. He admitted that he knew full well what he was doing.

I worked with another child, who at the age of 9 got high and had sex.

Someone I worked with worked with a child around the same age who killed a younger sibling. And had no remorse.

There are some kids who can be rehabilitated, some who can't, and some who fake it. It is perfectly within the realm of possibility for a child to so something like this for what most would consider no apparent reason. It's also possible that if the child did do this, he had been pushed to the breaking point by very real trauma that he suffered. No one knows right now which it is.

When you've worked with the "bad" kids, the abused kids, and the mentally ill kids, you see a lot of different things. Every situation is different and needs to be handled differently. But you also realize that sometimes, as sad as it is, there are kids who just cannot be helped. That doesn't mean that people shouldn't try to help them, just that sometimes people need to realize that everything you can offer sometimes isn't enough.

I can't remember the man's name, but one example of a non-rehabiliated young offender is the guy who killed his wife and her niece in Florida while evacuated from a hurricane. He had killed his mother and then back in society became a serial killer and killing wife/niece/himself was his final act. I know most people will remember that one.

Thanks Cyber......so they are holding this one as their "ace in the hole" should they need it?

I was thinking that was most likely the case.

I did notice in the DAs motion he bolded "without prejudice" so he is putting them on notice.
