Too many or not enough?

The thought of wanting to be in jail in Indonesia instead of Australia sounds crazy to me. On the other hand, with corruption in places like Indonesia with enough money she could probably have a good deal of freedom.
It is crasy ..she would have a much easier time here lesbains or not.....the family have made it hard for Schappell to do any wheeling and dealing as the case is too high profile now...
If the family were squeaky clean then I could have understood their actions but they all had to much history to ever go in front of a tv camera.
They are an embarrassment.

I had heard about this case a few years ago. I believe she was also a former beauty queen. very pretty woman. I found the story unbelieable as well but there is a lot of "evidence" to the side that she did have it on her own but was just dumb enough to have it where she did.
She worked at a beauty salon .I dont know that she was ever a beauty queen.

Great thread..I have followedthis case since the beginning. IMO Authorities should be looking at her Dad and brothers. All the family are flaky and do the girl 'no favours' everytime they speak. Her sister,Mercedes has a big mouth that just makes it worse for Schappelle.
That said, I am not convinced of her innocence or guilt either way....But it seems really dumb to walk through 2 airports with a boogie board bag stuffed with ganga in a clear plastic bag.
I do not think the girl will live to do her whole sentance...

I hadn't heard about her until I saw the documentary last night. I don't know if she's innocent or guilty either, but she sure is surrounded by a bunch of idiots. Poor girl. I think she'll live to do her whole sentence.

P.S.

Who doesn't check out the laws in the countries they're traveling to before they smuggle in drugs? LOL Any country that's got the death penalty for weed. DON'T GO!!!!

That is good advice,Jeana...the death sentance for drugs should be a huge put off.....but it is'nt.
I watched a programme on Bankok jail and there were a lot of Brits and Americans in there for trafficing. Really stupid.

I watched some youtube videos on this case today and I noticed something in one of them, I think it was called "Friend or Stranger". The video was discussing whether Schappelle and her family knew that convicted drug dealer that she was photographed with. Her mother said they didnt know him and that she had just met him in a bar. He says differently. In one of the scenes on the video, her mother, sister and this drug dealer are visiting Schappelle at the prison and when its time to leave, the sister thanks him for coming or whatever and then HE says something to the effect of "I'll have some more smoke for you at the end of the week". Now "smoke" means weed, and the sister says "Ummm...thanks" like she knew what he was on about but was embarrassed because he said it in front of a load of reporters.
After seeing that, and reading more today I have no doubt that this whole family is guilty of messing around with drugs.

There was another video too showing the bag that had the drugs in with just the board in it and the bag was quite flat. With the bag of weed in it though, it had a huge bulge in it. If you were used to carrying your bag and seeing it with just the board in then how would you NOT notice whether that same bag had developed a bulge all of a sudden? Never mind the fact that it would also have been heavier........Nope, I think Schappelle is guilty.

I saw video of him today too and that drug dealer guy was saying that he was involved in deals with him. The whole family are messed up I think.
I dont think she deserves the death penalty or even twenty years for what she did but I think if you take that risk in a country with those penalties then you deserve to stay there. Simple as that!

If she tried to bring 10 pounds of weed into the United States, her sentence might be 20 years. She probably wouldn't serve it all, but that's our problem. I think Bali's got the right ideas, but they need to do better investigations. I can't get behind any conviction where they don't even bother to fingerprint the evidence and then let God knows how many people mess with it before the trial.

I agree with you Jeanna on the fact that they should do better investigations because then it leaves less doubt as to innocence or guilt. Then maybe there would not be so many people screaming that someone is innocent when in fact they may be less innocent than they think, but because it wasnt investigated properly they become "victims" almost.
I still think she is guilty though and that she should serve her sentence in the country she committed the crime.

I agree with you. If she's guilty, she should definately serve her time in the country where the crime was committed.

Schapelle had visited Bali more than once and even had family living there..she knew their rules and Im of the opinion that this wasnt the first time her or other family members had transported drugs into Bali..I just think that this time their luck run out and Schapelle is paying the price..they are not your normal Australian family by any stretch of the imagine.....as I said Im embarrassed by them.
I do believe that the drugs should have been tested to see where they were grown though.

Her mum has said that Shapelle will only come home if she can come back a free woman without serving any jail time here..so Im all for leaving her over there too..sending the whole family over would be doing Australia a big favour imo:)

Let them all go over and help serve it is the way i feel. Especially her little bogan brother.....poor bloke can hardly string a sentance together
At least Aussie taxpayers will not be paying for her keep.....

Thanks Dingo. Of course she was. Don't we all? I can't think how many times I've posed with drug paraphernalia for a photo. :waitasec: Oh, yes I can. Never! But maybe she was just mucking around for the camera and never used it. That happens to Amy Winehouse all the time. ;)

This just made me almost snort my coffee all over the place lol.
Amy is such a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬....she was hitting out at some guy taking her pic last night again. I watched one of her Glastonbury performances, the one where she hit the fan in the crowd and she was just awful. She was drunk, running all over the place, slurring her words, forgetting her words. Great voice and a total walking disaster:(
