Schapelle Corby’s parole officer Ketut Artha says lobbying over Seven TV interview is ‘impossible’

“I said to him that I don’t need to give you another answer to that, because it’s all clear — there’s no permission as has been instructed by the deputy minister,’’ he said.

“Many times I have been told that it’s impossible (for the interview) to be allowed and my position is at stake because of that.’’

Mr Artha says Wayan then said he would go to the provincial office of the law and human rights ministry and ask them for permission instead.

“I told him, ‘Just go ahead. It’s impossible to get it’.’’

Whoever is pushing so hard in the Corby camp for this interview needs to back off. The way things are going, Schapelle is going to end up back in prison.

This is gold! Can you imagine all the hysterical drama going on in that villa while they all try and get around these rules so that Schapelle can go on 'Sunday Night' and BS the increasingly hostile Australia public again? The only interview I'll actually watch is the exposure by the chamber maids who watched this week unfold.

“The letter was signed by Wayan, Mercedes and Schapelle Corby. I told him that I don’t need to give you the answer again as it has all been explained already, based on the Deputy Minister’s instruction,” Mr Artha said.

“I have repeatedly conveyed to him that it is impossible for me to allow the interview.”

Mr Artha said that Mr Widyartha had responded that he would ask the Justice Ministry in Bali.

“Then I told him, ‘please do it’. But it will impossible for you to get it (permission),” he said.

Mr Artha said he had also suggested, again, that Corby and her family move out of the luxury Seminyak villa where they have been holed up now for 11 days.

:D

Then this ..

“The instruction from the Deputy (Justice) Minister has been clear. The interview should not be done. It is the final decision. If she does the interview we’ll see later what will happen,” Mr Adnyana said.

:)

If she does it back to jail .. let's just hope that Channel 7 doesn't make some kind of compromise deal and interview Mercedes .. I think we've all seen enough of her to last a lifetime.

AFP apologises to Seven following Schapelle Corby raids

The Australian Federal Police have issued an apology to Seven West Media for stating a legal representative of the broadcaster had been "reasonably suspected" of committing a crime, though the government agency described the incident as a "word processing error".

The AFP raided the Sydney offices of Seven on Tuesday due to speculation the network had paid convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby $2 million for an interview.

Schapelle Corby warned as Justice Minister rules no TV interview

INDONESIA’S Justice Minister has given his sternest warning yet to Schapelle Corby about controversial plans for a media interview.

Amir Syamsuddin said Schapelle Corby’s case had become quite a sensation and it was time that Corby and her family realise that she is inmate enjoying parole whose parole can be revoked.

Ha! No mincing words there! Take a hint Corby's.

 • #207
Channel 7 probably paid the AFP to do the raid to gain ratings and sympathy...

Who needs enemies when you have a family like that?

$$$$$$$$$$ is all they can see.

Wayan is apparently pushing for the interview, Has he been promised money for going guarantor for her? Schapelle herself, I think probably is incapable of looking out for herself. She has a psychiatric illness. Has been locked away for 9 years so I would say her mind set is institutionalised at the moment and has to adjust to the realities of the outside world.
Is she capable of realising the precarious position she is putting herself in? Can she with stand the pressure that channel 7 would be putting on her to do the interview?

Does she realise she will be back in gaol? Has she been given money already and can't get out of it? Mike Willisee couldn't care less what happens to her, as long as he gets his story. JMOO

Maybe she has already been paid to do this interview somehow and Channel 7 will want a refund.

When is Shapelle going to move out of that villa?

Is Willessee still over there?

AUSTRALIAN Federal Police have defended their raid on Seven Network offices and say they found enough to continue investigating plans for a paid exclusive interview with Schapelle Corby.
"I would be quite happy if she does an interview. She just can't be paid for it," he said.

Mr Phelan said in previous proceeds of crime action over the Corby book My Story, some $100,000 was seized but a larger sum was moved overseas.

Mr McWilliam said the only signed agreement was with Mercedes Corby to arrange an interview. There was no fee involved, only a provision for accommodation and security guards.

MERCEDES Corby is suing the Australian Federal Police in what is believed to be a row over their attempts to seize any money paid to her sister Schapelle for an exclusive TV interview.

Lawyers for Ms Corby, under her full name of Mercedes Pearl Esma Corby, have lodged the documents in the Federal Court’s Sydney registry today

Breaking News on Chan 10 just now, Shapelle attempted to take her own life.

They said when Indo Officials were visiting at her BIL's house, she took a knife and attempted to cut herself saying she is sick of the media following her.

Will try to get a link when I can.

Authorities had repeatedly warned the program may breach her parole by causing community unease.
Agus says he found Corby "unstable" and "afraid" at the home of her sister Mercedes and brother-in-law Wayan Widyartha.
When the topic of her parole was broached, she twice ran to the kitchen and grabbed a small knife, he told reporters on Tuesday.
Corby made an "effort to slice her arm" with the knife, but was twice restrained by Mercedes and the other parole officers.
Mercedes reportedly denies the incident, but the parole boss was clear.

More dramatics huh? You know maybe she should go back into the jail, it seems like she is not ready to face the realities of her release just yet. There is something really wrong with this entire family in regards to accepting the authority of the Indonesian officials. They are lucky Schapelle was released, yet they show no gratitude whatsoever. They just need to stop reacting so hysterically to every change in circumstance and calm the h*ll down, I know their mother set a bad example in the way she acts, but that does not mean that the daughters can not know better, they must have seen people behave better in life and realise that the way they act is ridiculous?

Mr Syamsuddin said that if his office decides to revoke Corby’s parole it would be her family’s fault.

The Corby case had severely tested his patience, he said.

The normally mild-mannered minister said the Corby family did not appear to be grateful for what they had already received — her release on parole despite political and domestic pressure on him not to grant it.

______

He told the newspaper that the interview by Mercedes had made the family look like they had never said thank you or been grateful for what they already had.

“If we are finally forced to take the decision (to revoke the parole), this is not removed from the family’s responsibility, which in my opinion, they didn’t show their concern to what we have faced,” Mr Syamsuddin said.

Excellent post!! You're so right!

Their behaviour constantly baffles me! I just don't get it?

Why would you take the risk and let
Mercedes do the interview? And her comment that the drugs could have come from Indonesia? WTF? Inflammatory much? Completely going against parole conditions!

She would have been out next year (if my memory serves me correctly) and would actually be free and could do as she pleased, but she chose to accept parole and therefore she needs to abide by the rules and keep her nose clean! IMO she'll end up back in jail! It's a long time...

So if her parole is revoked, how much longer will she serve?
