The plot thickens. It appears that SWM did know about the pregnancy.

I thought there were some statements very early on from either the HM or TS camp indicating that she did and that was part of the friction, but I maybe wrong but I thought so.

Stella is an US citizen. Maybe that can spring her from her jail sentence. Poor baby.

Refresh my memory: do we know what this is about? (I like the idea of a woman judge-- probably won't take any bull from HM)

There are two cases currently running, one is for the Estate / Will and the other is for the release of Trust Funds. The Estate case is on hold for a year. I definitely think they will file a Wrongful Death in Civil Court at some point. IL does not have any stipulations so I think it follows the General Rule of a conviction first. Which may be why it is set for 2016.

Curious if anyone knows the new emails, can they be used in Bali? or can they no longer be submitted as new evidence? I did not hear any mention of them prior even though they were given to the FBI already. Just wondering if the FBI's visit to Bali gave them to the prosecution.

I think there were, but as the trial unfolds, their story has shifted. The latest version seems to be that TS flew to Bali to break the news to SWM and it was her violent objections to the pregnancy that led to her death.

Now, this latest version (SWM threatening to 'kill' the baby) sounds like something Soenardi coached them to say. The earlier version of the story seemed to focus on an argument about the hotel bill that included a racial slur that made TS go into a homicidal rage. Now the story has shifted to a self-defense angle, the slur is barely mentioned, but there are accusations of death threats to HM and Stella - and poor TS was in fear for his life.

Maybe the more just thing is HM gets sent back to US ASAP so she can go on trial for conspiracy to commit murder and go to jail for that while also getting in a civil suit about the trust. Stella can be taken away from her and given to someone else.

I am more frightened than ever.... I will keep in touch."

These emails are heartbreaking. Clearly, HM cared nothing for her mom, this baby or anyone but herself. In addition to smoking, she was taking pain killers. Poor Stella and poor Sheila.

Wow. So glad these are coming to light. We knew HM had been admitted to some kind of inpatient mental health care facilities before. The girl is not mentally healthy and should NOT have a premie newborn in her care.

I know y'all are sick of hearing about my grandbaby to come but since I have always had a career in criminal law in one form or another my kids grew up hearing the good, bad and the ugly, they have ended up being followers of high profile crimes almost by rote. My daughter disclosed her pregnancy on Labor Day when this crime was very fresh and as we talked about HM, she questioned how someone could commit matricide. But she recently noted how emotional she was during those first couple of months and said she just knew HM with her prior tendencies to violence toward Shelia must have been a never ending nightmare for SWM. To learn of these emails confirming other pregnancies and a continued pattern of violence toward her is so very, very sad. I still wonder if the locking up of the passports and valuables in the hotel safe was indicative of fear at all or just habit from dealing with HM.

So... according to the emails, TS did not go to Bali to help make a difficult announcement about the pregnancy. Looks like there was no other reason than to do exactly what he did...beat Sheila to death for HM. The depth of evil here is just beyond comprehension

Contrary to what HM and TS said about Sheila harming the baby...other than demand HM get another abortion, it looks like Sheila was trying to protect HM AND the baby.

Jacobson said he believes von Wiese-Mack had guessed at the timing, and she was urging her daughter to sign over her power of attorney for fear the then-18-year-old was in declining physical and mental health.

I love babies, truly I do...but I really don't care what happens to HM's child. I'm not convinced that she ever intended on having this child. To me it was all about the money...and using whatever it took to manipulate TS to do her dirty work. TS went there with one thing in mind and that was to commit murder, IMO. It doesn't really sound as if HM spent any time with her mother on this vacation. Does it really sound as if her mother was angry? She planned a whole host of things to do...and seemed to be just waiting around for HM to return. One of the emails shows a sent time of 10:39pm- I'm not sure if that's accurate, but I'd bet her mother was waiting for quite some time after check-out.
If this dynamic duo wanted to plead their case to Sheila, I don't think a) spending zero quality time with mom on an all expense-paid vacation, b) using mom's credit card to pay for the expectant dad's unannounced trip over, and c) illegally acquiring pain meds, would be the way to do it.

ETA: and what was this judge thinking in handing money over to HM?? You get to kill your mother and use her money to defend what you did?? I don't think that was Sheila's intent when setting up the Trust. IMO, it's perverse

I normally don't condone taking babies so small from the Mothers, but those emails and this whole mess of lies has me thinking quite the opposite. Before HM blames an inmate for something when the baby pawn does not work. ugh. I am hoping TS's Mom's visit was to convince HM to let her take Stella back with her.
