Bankrupt Casey Anthony interviewed by KPHO CBS in Phoenix #2

^^^ that's what I've said from the beginning. setting aside BKs involving businesses, corporations, etc there are basically two types of individual BKS. the debtor with a very large amount of debt falls into the "poor me" category where it's determined, after an examination of their circumstances, that the debtor cannot reasonably be expected to pay their debts. the obligations are forgiven/discharged (with a tax credit for the debt holder) and everyone moves on

the debtor with a smaller amount of debt falls into the "you will pay no matter how long it takes" category where it's determined, after an examination of their circumstances, that the debtor can reasonably be expected to pay their debts. the debtor lives on a court-ordered budget and must comply with a court-ordered payment plan

JB's 300k is the amount that pads her debt and bumps her into the forgiveness category. she doesn't want her age and prospective number of years in the work force to indicate that she can be expected to pay up, even if it takes 20 years, and she does not want to live on a court-ordered budget and satisfy a payment plan. JB's 300k absolutely is the crux of the matter

Maybe the judge finally realized what we all knew and that her attorney even admitted. She filed for bk simply to stop the civil proceedings. To me, this seems like using the court to escape accountability. She wants her payday but knows that the civil cases will take "her" money.

Hi, good to be back! I am so happy especially for Kronk. Poor guy found Caylee (Thank God) will carry that all his life the sadness of it all. Her attys. proceed to accuse him of all sorts of things, even questioning ex's and his son! They had nothing to do with the case. He deserves any monies he is awarded. So does Zenaida but I think they were harder on him. Good Luck Mr. Kronk.:seeya:

And god bless Matt Morgan- he has always just wanted the truth to come out. It is personal to him and I am glad. It is personal to all of us here! Please let this be the karma train coming for the murderer of her own flesh and blood... And please let the train sideswipe Cindy while its at it. That is my prayer!

I have always felt that mr. Kronk got it the worst of all. When his ex-wife said he may have had something to do with Caylee's murder, I was so sad for him. We knew that was not the case. And when his son spoke against him I again thought about all of the evil FCA has created. I hope he gets a 50 million dollar judgement. Then I hope he dogs her every move (like The goldmans did to OJ) to make sure she is not receiving one penny that should belong to him.

Even though this happened in NY, I hope that the trustee for FCA's filing is paying attention since it is a Federal case.

DMX, a rapper, had filed for a Chapter 11 BK. Debts included $1.3 million in child support.
The judge tossed the case, maybe after hearing this -

U.S. Trustee Tracy Hope Davis said Simmons failed to provide trustworthy information in his bankruptcy filing.

I would love to see them throw out her request for BK, but I'm not going to hold my breath. The fact that she was able to so easily come up with $25,000 to hold on to her "story" was enough to prove she can reasonably pay her debts. I mean seriously! Who here could suddenly come up with $25,000, without taking out a loan, in the span of 30 days? Not many! And certainly not an unemployed person who's greatest skill is lying. Let's hope that the trustee is paying attention.

The Trustee, and his attorney Allan Watkins, know all about her coming up with $ 25,000 -- and do not care how she got it. They are content with her telling them she got it "from a friend".

Casey Anthony's Friend Will Provide $25K Settlement

Casey Anthony has agreed to pay $25,000 to settle a dispute over the rights to her life story and an attorney involved in the case said Anthony is borrowing the money from a friend.

When asked how Anthony--who has been unemployed for four years and in hiding since 2011--plans on paying the $25,000, attorney Allan Watkins told ABCNews.com, "I understand she's borrowing it from a friend."

Watkins represents trustee Stephen Meininger whose job is to liquidate any of Anthony's potential assets to help pay off her debts.
"We went through in some detail how she's being supported and it's pretty much through friends and people who sympathize with her and her situation," Watkins said.

"Despite all the hype and tragedy involved in this case, this is a 26-year-old woman that has a high school education, no major assets other than maybe this story and her parents don't have anything," Watkins said.

Watkins said that the $25,000 will be distributed according to bankruptcy code and the first tiers are the attorneys and administrators in the bankruptcy case.

"I don't pay rent. I don't pay utilities," Anthony said, according to the Associated Press. "I guess you could say I'm living free off the kindness of others."

Whoops- looks like Cindy forgot to mention the $600K that Dr Phil paid them.
Surely they haven't burned through that already? Even without that, she is on disability and George is Security Director at Quinco - it's not like they have "nothing" exactly.... they are probably making more than they have in years! I think this trustee has had the wool pulled over his eyes by this family of pathological liars. The death of Caylee was profitable for all of them.

Case No. 2013-CA-013266-O
NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE LLC vs. ANTHONY, CYNTHIA M.et al.

Nationstar Mortgage LLC has filed a Foreclosure Complaint on Cynthia M. Anthony and George and the Homeowners Assoc and their Insurance company, filed on Nov 4, 2013

owes between $ 50,001 - $ 249,999

NOTE: What did they do with the $ 600,000 from Dr. Phil???
$125K went for legal expenses [to Atty Lippman],
$100K was dispersed to charities when the fund closed down,
and the remaining $375K was in the Anthonys hands [alleged portion went to Casey]

-------------------------

The Anthony's last foreclosure was Feb 22, 2010 by Bank of America.
Records show that the Anthonys bought the house in 1989 for $90,900.
Documents show the couple owes between $50,001 and $249,999.
Anthonys had not made a mortgage payment in nine months. [June 2009]
The Anthonys have owned the Hopespring Drive property since 1989, but four years ago [2006] they refinanced their home for $121,000. According to the filing, they still owe nearly all of that money.
Bank of America said that since June 2009, the Anthonys have failed to make their $785 monthly payments.

Casey's Parents Saved Home From Foreclosure
Posted: 5:44 pm EDT July 28, 2010

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's parents saved their home from foreclosure Wednesday, and it only took them a few months to obtain the same loan modification that other homeowners have pursued for years.

The Anthonys’ attorney said he thinks it’s because both parties wanted to keep the case out of court. If it went to court, it would have created a media frenzy.

Bank of America modified their loan.

“This foreclosure was one of the fastest ones I handled,” said Attorney Mark Lippman.

Lippman, who represents the Anthonys, said it only took four months to settle the issue. They qualified for the federal program called Making Homes Affordable

Still not paying their bills? They drive expensive cars.....:what:

and .... remodel their home .... and go on cruises with Lee and Mallory and their church friends .... and buy and sell on EBAY .... and lease a condo for Casey ....

  • #1,274
How can they argue over nickel and dime garage sale items and ignore their house payments?

  • #1,275
I can't imagine what is going on in that house. They obtained that loan modification that lowered their payment. Cindy's disability may have run out by now, but George has been gainfully employed with a good position for several years now. Maybe they are following in FCA's footsteps. As she said at her BK hearing,

"I don't pay rent. I don't pay utilities," Anthony said, according to the Associated Press. "I guess you could say I'm living free off the kindness of others."
Posted by ThinkTank in post upthread.

Maybe they are hoping FCA's friend will help them out too.

Another thought just occurred to me that maybe they, along with FCA, have been making plans all along to skip out as soon as the BK goes through. Not making their house payment would save them a lot of money that could have been sent to an offshore bank for their later enjoyment. I wonder if that's where some of the money from Dr Phil went.

  • #1,276
Yes, I think they have their blood money stashed away and are using this as a way of avoiding payments for as long as possible, then having the bank take the house back- it's not likely they could ever sell the house where Caylee was murdered after all! This way they live rent free for a long time, then move on without consequences. That's the Anthony way...

  • #1,277
This BK filing hasn't gone as FCA planned. I think she felt it would be all over by now and she would be free as a bird. (jailbird haha)

If the hearings for the two suits won't be until Jan 14 2014, does that mean they can't finalize the rest of the BK until after that?

  • #1,278
Funny how that Karma thing works........Huh?

  • #1,279
JMO, the A's are irresponsible and selfish. They burned through Dr. Phil money in a matter of 2-3 months. To me, they are incapable of making a long term financial plan (saving etc) and sticking with it. They live for the moment and let tomorrow take care of itself. Or not.

They have been doing this for years- wasn't their Ohio home foreclosed on too?
