Bankrupt Casey Anthony interviewed by KPHO CBS in Phoenix

I just had a thought. Assuming that the Trustee is allowed to auction off KC's rights to "her story", and a bidding war ensues that brings the price up to, let's just say, 2 Million Dollars. Once the Trustee pays OCSO, IRS, OPD, etc, and they realize that she DOES NOT owe JB anything else, who gets the rest of the money? Even paying the court a generous fee, there would still be around a Million Dollars left. Would that go to KC or would it be held for her civil suits? I am wondering because I can't believe that Team KC didn't realize that the court might sell her rights to pay her debts. I CAN, however, picture them realizing that no one in their right mind would pay KCA anything for "her story", and what better way to start a bidding war than to let the courts sell it for her. This thought has given me an uneasy stirring in the pit of my stomach. I'm gonna post this on the lawyer thread and see what they say. Any thoughts? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

It would surprise me if anyone would pay this kind of money. CA does not have to cooperate with anyone that purchases the rights. Anyone, except CA, can do all the things that comes with this purchase. Since most all of the other books about this case have not been big sellers, I doubt if anything else would be either. It would surprise me if CA could retain all the rights that the trustee has filed a motion to sell and decided to do something with them that she would make much money. We have already heard so many versions of what happened why worry about another version.

I don't know the answer to what would happen if any monies were left. The trustee will get a big chuck of whatever is paid for the rights. Perhaps it could be divided among the people who have filed suit and not yet had a chance to have it tried in a court of law.

Interesting question that you posed.

If the sugar daddy bids and wins, could he turn around and give it all back to FCA which would still clear her debts and give her back her "story"?

What concerns me is that we have seen sooooo many people cash in on this tragedy of life and travesty of justice. I do not know how much money JD spent or raised defending the WM3, but if a celebrity like him were to decide that they wanted to make sure that KC never made a penny on this, they could afford to offer a very large amount. So many people feel that KC got away with murder, and this has been a highly emotional case for most. The desire to shut down the money train is strong. But, Team KC is slick. I just can't see any situation where they didn't know this possibility existed, which begs the question of why would they then do it? They can blow "closure" out the back door cuz I ain't buying that. It's cliche and tiresome. No. They have a strategy in play here. But, what is it? I, personally, do not think for one second that KC ever intends to give some big interview or make the rounds on talk shows or whatever. She's all blow and no show, IMO. Kinda like the kid that goes around talking about what he will do when he sees so-and-so, and then when so-and-so shows up, he suddenly remembers he is going to Grandma's house after school and can't get his clothes dirty. But next week, he's gonna give him what-for! She's like that, IMO. She may walk around her condo all day talking about how Barb wants her for a sit down or how she and Geraldo will party on his yacht, but it's all about as real as the Nanny. If anything like that ever came to fruition, she would make CM or JB go on because she has a tummy ache or might be preggers or she just can't miss tonight's episode of 90210. The only book that has made money was JA's. All defense books have flopped. So what are they thinking here? I guess time will tell.

I guess anything is possible, but seems if the bankruptcy laws would have rules in place to prevent it from happening.

Do you believe the "sugar daddy" story?

You described CA to a T. Who would believe the version she may tell next.

As far as her "team", maybe they hope she won't be able to tell her version. Who knows who she would throw under the bus. She is quite the "story teller".

I don't believe there is a sugar daddy that loves her so much, he would do anything, but I believe there is/are someone who has been paying out some big money to support her for this long.

As I understood the Trustee's motion, there was a stipulation that the bidder must not be in collusion with KC or her posse. I would imagine that if someone ignored this rule and did it anyway, there might be a law broken. Not sure. But certainly they would be outside of the bounderies of the contract I am sure will be drawn up. It will be interesting to hear what Team KC thinks of this motion. It may give us more insight into what they are thinking.

Still no information on main stream media that I can find. Did find this from back in Jan. http://www.cfnews13.com/content/new...icles/cfn/2013/1/28/could_bankruptcy_fil.html

Her attorney says she won't sell her story. Surprise, Surprise, she won't have to sell it. The Bankruptcy trustee will sell her rights to it(If his motion is approved.)!

Finally Orlando Sentinel has an article, but they do not give a link to the actual Motion filed by the Trustee.

Trustee asks judge for permission to sell Casey Anthony's story
Trustee wants to take bids on "exclusive worldwide rights" to Anthony's story.

By Jeff Weiner, Orlando Sentinel
2:21 p.m. EDT, March 18, 2013

excerpt:

The trustee overseeing Casey Anthony's bankruptcy plans to sell the rights to her story, a new court filing states, and one person has already offered
$10,000 — in the hopes of preventing her from profiting off it in the future.

In a new filing, Allan Watkins, an attorney for Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee Stephen L. Meininger, asks U.S. Bankruptcy Judge K. Rodney May for

permission to sell "the exclusive worldwide rights in perpetuity to the commercialization of Anthony's life story" including her daughter's death and her high-profile murder trial.

I believe CA is still taking care of her to some extent. I also can see KC filling CA's head with a bunch of "backwards" clues about "what really happened" and stringing her along like the old days. GA is following around, doing their bidding, knowing the truth but too askeered to say anything for fear of upsetting the psychotic balance that they thrive in. LA is, as usual, off in the shadows, that other kid that the A's had, left to fend for himself. I'm sure they are right back to their same old dysfuntional life, except this time the world is watching. JMO.

Thanks for the info. I am still wanting to hear a responce from her legal and/or bankruptcy attorneys.

Also anxious to know if the trustee's motion is approved!

I wonder why he didn't call Mr. Greene, who always has far to much to say about everything. :waitasec:

TRUSTEE WANTS TO SELL CASEY ANTHONY'S LIFE STORY
By TAMARA LUSH
— Mar. 18, 2013

excerpt:

One New York publisher said Monday that Anthony's story has the potential to be worth seven figures.

"If she had the goods, and she was really going to spill the beans of what happened, particularly if she's not guilty, that's pretty big," said Eric Kampmann, the owner of Beaufort Books. "If she knew who the murderer was for example, that would be huge. That would be the biggest news story of the year."

Kampmann, who said he has been in contact with a member of Anthony's legal team but has no deal in place, is no stranger to controversial books. His publishing house reissued OJ Simpson's book, originally scheduled for release by ReganBooks, an imprint of HarperCollins. But "If I Did It" was dropped in response to widespread outrage. ReganBooks founder Judith Regan was later fired and her imprint disbanded.

A federal bankruptcy judge then awarded rights to the book to the family of murder victim Ronald Goldman to help satisfy a $38 million wrongful death judgment against Simpson.

Beaufort Books, based in New York, published "If I Did It" with Simpson's original manuscript intact and commentary included. The Goldman family called the book Simpson's confession — the same description Regan offered in justifying the original publication. The Beaufort edition has sold more than 100,000 copies.

Kampmann said enough time has passed since Anthony's trial that her story could be marketable.

COULD BE, but would it be. Big difference between CA and OJ. OJ was a star from his football career and had a following for that, but the book did not sell. CA was, and still is, a nothing living off everyone. Had she not been involved in a murder, very few people would even know about her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In my opinion ... this confirms the intentions of FCA to get a book published in the near future, after she got the pesky bankruptcy and civil suits done away with.
I get the idea that this New York book publisher would have gladly done a book deal with her and let her blame Caylee's murder on George or Roy Kronk or some other dude, just to try to sell something "new".
The problem with this is though that the people who would be interested in any Casey Anthony story have followed the case and read all the discovery, and would NOT BUY anything that does not match up with the evidence.
No doubt in my mind, she is just waiting to get the civil suits out of the way. In her mind, she thinks she will be able to make all kinds of money thru the media. (I bet she had not even thought of all the ways that she could do it until she read what was in the trustee's motion.)
I really hope that the trustee's motion is approved and the right to her story is auctioned.
JMO
Someone has already placed a $10,000 bid. If anyone else bids, then it will be done by auction. As I understand the paperwork, bids have to be in $10,000 increments and a deposit of 100% of the bid must be submitted.
There is a 21 day limit from the date of the notice, 03/15/2013, for one to place a bid.
