Being sober is boring: Charlie Sheen

  • #201
That's a good point.

I need to leave Charlie alone.

Yep, I think the same way. The more attention he gets, the more attention he thinks he deserves.

Just a headsup..just saw a ad saying Live interview with Charlie at top of this hour on CNN..Piers Morgan....I dont plan on watching it..and shame on CNN for even allowing this nutbar to run at the mouth on TV..Just thought I would let ya all know :banghead:

I haven't watched any of it (though I have kept up with what's going on here). It's very sad. I have a lot of empathy for him. People keep giving him a public platform for the crazy because everyone wants to see it. Just super sad. My continued prayers for him and his family.

Sometimes when people are crazy or on drugs, they speak the truth. At least as they know it. Many Hollywood people have the capacity to implode this way. They are constantly treated like royalty. They are comped at restaurants everywhere they go, as if the rich are the ones that need a free meal. They are surrounded by frantic paparazzi. They are deluged by screaming fans. Not just appreciative people but screaming fans. I watched the Oscars last night and wondered why our society is so out of whack. They are actors, people, not Gods. We should have an event like this with screaming fans for our Nobel Peace prize winners, neurosurgeons, Doctor's Without Borders members, etc. Not for people paid to pretend, no matter how well they do it. But when a person is surrounded by such adulation for most of their adult life, the narcissistic tendencies that caused them to want to be center stage to begin with, are carefully nurtured. I believe many more stars than this actually feel this way but are controlled so they don't divulge what they actually feel. Drugs and alcohol make it harder to control them.

I'll never forget a photo I saw of Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna. Platrow had this incredulous, wide open mouthed laugh and look of astonishment on her face. madonna was laughing as well. The reason? A restaurant manager had just dared to tell these people they would have to wait in line like mere mortals. That says it all to me about their mentality.

LOL, I was right there with you until I read "Nobel Prize Winners" then I remembered that Obama received one........:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

I only watched a about a minute of it, I can't watch any more of it but that's just me.

What is very sad to me is that the reporters are jumping to get an interview with him knowing full well he is having a full blown mental episode (I can't define it but I think most of us agree he is having some sort of breakdown or break with reality).

These reporters are exploiting CS. I had thought that he was just having issues with getting some sobriety. I can see now that he has clearly had some sort of break and that is sad for him and for his loved ones and family. It's also very dangerous for him because if he were anyone else---a common man walking the streets he might stand a better chance at getting help. Not always but at least a better chance. But he's not he is Charlie Sheen and from a family that is considered Hollywood royalty and he may just very well die if he doesn't get help soon. I really think that is a possibility.

Makes me sigh and count my blessings at the same time. Kind of feel guilty about that too. JMHO

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/02/28/dr-dale-archer-charlie-sheen-acute-psychiatric-emergency/

"How can you know when someone can no longer take care of himself, or will not cause more harm than has already occurred? When is it time to institutionalize someone who is beyond helping themselves? Listening to the rants, Sheen is in an acute psychiatric emergency. Yet, without meeting certain rigid criteria, he cannot legally be forced into an institution, rehab or even counseling. The spiraling will continue until something even worse happens. It is very difficult in the United States to force anyone to receive the mental help they need if they don't want it."

As the sister of an alcoholic, who lost her battle this 2010 Christmas Past, and someone who is grieving, it is absolutely clear to me that this man is in the throes of addiction. Whatever substance, doesn't matter.

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to get someone help when they don't want it. I lived it, recently, and my one and only sister, who we all loved so dearly, would not get help. The only thing left was getting her committed, which would have ticked her off to no end :) I loved her so much, still do, but her addiction took her from us.

Please someone help this man. I totally agree that he is going to hurt someone seriously...I sure hope those baby boys are not still there. It sounds like their mother may be an addict too.

I know of what I speak.....all IMO of course.

I am so sorry for your loss .

I hear you - I truly do. But we are all exploiting CS at this point. The reporters are only giving us what we love to see - a train wreck.

Well there goes the end to Two and a Half Men ..... Sorry Charlie

I am really mad at him. I watch just about every re run. I like the other people on the show, his bro, his Mother, Berta his housekeeper, the girl who stalks him, etc I dont think Charlie sheen could make that show on his own. I wonder if the other actors on show are mad? theyve been held up from their jobs because of his insanity.

I heard him whining that he did not make enough money, He makes 2 million per episode. He is soo out of touch with reality as alot of those Hollywood types are. He could afford the best rehab there is.

I dont think he looks good, his partying lifestyle has caught up with him. He looks gaunt and tired IMO and OLDER. I do not think he can face it that hes getting older.

My husband and I just watched the TMZ one and it was so ridiculous the way that dude was trying to pull stuff out of him. Charlie looks soo bad, it's so sad. And he's completely oblivious.

People have told me mania is just like a cocaine high. He sounds as manic there as anyone I have ever heard. What worries me is that eventually he WILL crash and come down to the depression side. No one stays manic forever.

He sure does seem manic (you watch him with that lighter? odd) but is he high or is he manic?

I had never watched Two and Half Men until I went to visit a relative in early January of this year. When it came time for T&HM, my relative said that she wanted to watch her show. I was appalled at CS's physical condition. I have no idea if the show was a rerun or a new show, but he looked horrible. As I watching him, I was thinking that he might be an alcoholic. He had had some bad press by that time, but this was before this newest meltdown. I also thought the jokes were old and tired, but I'm not a big sitcom fan.

Sheen: 'My efforts' helped get pay for 'Men' crew

(SNIPPED)

Sheen told The Associated Press he wasn't satisfied with an agreement by Warner Bros. Television to pay the "Men" crew for only half of the eight episodes canceled when producers tired of their star's off-screen antics.

He called it "a start" and said his efforts "are paying off," but declared: "I won't sleep until I get all eight. I don't care about me right now."

He told the AP he planned to keep up his media blitz until the show's crew was paid for the rest of this season's shows. He also said getting compensation for series co-stars Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones was "next" on his to-do list.

Warner Bros. denied that anything Sheen had done - which included threatening to sue the show's producers and extolling the virtues of his hard-partying ways - contributed to the decision to pay the crew.

"False," said studio spokesman Paul McGuire.

A few days ago he was offering to put up 1/3 himself... what up with that CS?

Whatever he's doing he looks like he**,I saw him on the Today Show as they showed him with his 2 "hotties" as he calls them.Opportunists taking advantage of a person who is orbiting in "who knows where land".
Looks like a walking skeleton who is in dire need of an intervention,if not,I don't see him hanging around "living"for too much longer.Mental break from reality,he's on his way to his bottom, perhaps thats where he needs to be to wake the he** up!!

IMHO - I think he's manic (lots of grandiose statements going on there). Besides, he also get the guitarist of some rock band to teach his prossie to play the guitar.

By the time he got to PM last night, he had calmed down a bit. After all, a full day of media blitz will do that to anyone. He still wasn't on, but he wasn't as bas as he was in the TMZ interview. I kept thinking that Pierce Morgan couldn't wait for it to end (since it was an impromtu interview).

As far as the media? Charlie is going after them, not vice-versa. If he's willing to let them take advantage, that's his fault. He needs to get into a real program stat.

I watched part of that Today Show interview with the two females also.
I have to say, that one that wasn't wearing a jacket was totally coked out! Her jaw was going like anyone on cocaine. It was very obvious.
How is he supposed to be getting help there when the females living with him aren't sober??

charlie, charlie, charlie - you can't take credit for everything.

You're publicist quit yesterday. What did you say? He can't quit - he's fired (oi vey).

Now he's taking responsibility for the actions of CBS?

Warner Bros. denied that anything Sheen had done - which included threatening to sue the show's producers and extolling the virtues of his hard-partying ways - contributed to the decision to pay the crew.

"False," said studio spokesman Paul McGuire.

Boy, he thinks he's all that doesn't he.

I do agree with him that if he doesn't have stability or a schedule in his life he goes off the rails -- we can obviously see it here.

Two and half Men is not as funny now as it used to be. I admit it was a good show. The old ones are really good. My fave is the one when the Mother got married to Teddy:floorlaugh:
The show has pretty much run its course. Its not as funny now because Jake has grown up and last night when I watched he just comes across as a sarcastic teenager *ugh) it was good show when he was little boy he said some funny stuff.
So....I just watch reruns:)
Charlie: check into rehab you dont look so good and you are having maybe bi polar too. Did anyone think he seems a little frantic and "up" he might come crashing down soon. Kind of sad that the press is jumping all over this. He needs to go to his father and brother right now, they care about him but he doesnt want to hear what they say:(

Yep! Good catch pghbrandi! I just watched a clip on KLG and Hoda and she was definately grinding her teeth, IMO.

Gosh, I can't believe the twins are in this toxic environment. Bless their little hearts. They are only 2 years old!!!!
