Belgium - 32 Killed In Suicide Bombing At Brussels Airport, 22 March 2016 *arrests, Guilty*

Disgusting. Vile. Atrocious.
Here's hoping they apprehend any more perps who are on the run... and at this point I do not care if the perps decide to 'go out' in a gunfight. Fine... the world has no need of cowardly people ---who murder innocents, and shatter the lives of those who survived, as well as destroy the lives of the loved ones of the deceased ! IMO.

I have seen the effect that murder has on people first hand and it was ghastly. There are no words to adequately describe the toll it takes on the families.
Thoughts and prayers to the people of Belgium !

Thanks cuffem. I sent you a message asking about Brugge. I think I spelled it wrong. Will add Ghent to the list.

"All of the men named as bombers today were 'well known' to detectives because of their links to ISIS and all had significant criminal records."

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...an-brothers-accomplice-white-remains-run.html

How many wake-up calls do we need before we start taking these things seriously?

That is distressing that they were well known to authorities and yet were obviously not closely watched. I am guessing they were not watching them at all.

What good are those "lists" if they are not going to take pro active action and watch them closely. At least watch the main ones who may do something. If money is an issue then find the money.

Think of all the money that is going to be spent now because of these bombings.

This is very distressing.

What kind of filth repays a country that allowed them sanctuary: food, money, housing, with this barbarity???

It seems each time DH and I have a conversation about another trip across the pond as we did last week, there is yet another of these senseless attacks on innocent people. As much as we'd like to visit Europe again, I think the Fates are against us. :sigh:

My husband and I were just talking about that same thing...........

My husband and I were just talking about that same thing...........

I am planning another trip to Italy some time this year. At the rate things are going, I'm loath to go to the airport, let alone hop on a plane. Methinks I'll aim for September.

M15 surveillance picked up these 2. Not wildly reported in the media until now. So even though nothing much is said. There are obviously things going down against IS.

My heart goes out to the mom, my loved ones travel everywhere often, always worried.
Hope someone recognizes these siblings and reports back to their family soon!

It is so frustrating that we have to wait for multiple people being murdered and severely injured for these individuals to be arrested or be properly investigated after they have blown themselves up. It just seems like a helpless situation where the terrorists always have the upper hand. The security services do a tremendous job and I know countless plots have been thwarted but I hope they get the financial resources to keep a closer eye on more suspected terrorists.

Thank you everyone for all your news updates and discussion posts they are much appreciated.

It has emerged during the day that the two brothers attacked different targets, one the airport and the other the metro train. However it's now become clear that the second dead bomber at the airport was the bomb-maker himself.

This is interesting because one has to ask why someone who obviously had longterm value to Daesh should kill himself instead of staying alive to build more bombs for future attacks. Two possible explanations are:

1. The person who should have detonated the second bomb chickened out at the last minute and the bomb maker was forced to stand in as a substitute to ensure the attack went ahead;

2. This was not actually a Daesh cell but an independent home-grown one, and with the death of the last of the cell's members in this attack the bomb-maker saw his job as done.

I can't decide whether the one in white, not yet captured, ever intended to die in the attack. His seems to have been the bomb that failed to detonate, but then again he did not seem to be wearing a glove so not concealing a detonator. His role seems to be very unclear, especially considering that the bomb-maker died in the attack.

Where could they be? I would think if they aren't in the hospital and aren't among the deceased (I would think they would have been identified by now, but it must be a very difficult task) they would have called home. my heart breaks for their waiting family.

He has probably trained other individuals how to make these bombs and his expertise was no longer essential. Is there any news about these killers going to Pakistan etc possibly for terrorist training?
