Public Access Case Lookup You can find her by name and year of birth. She appears at least one arrest with LE involvement due to alcohol use reasonably recently. Praying for her family.
Wow totally opposite of what her sister said about her not drinking and never drunk. Hmmm.
This goes to what @GordianKnot said earlier about families sometimes being in denial.

Why would this be d

Why would this be dangerous? You are walking to a beach and filling a bucket up with water. It's not like you are swimming out to the middle of the ocean, filling it up and then swimming back.
Well if you were possibly drunk, everyone’s asleep and you had no flashlight I can see it being dangerous. In the middle of the day I think it would be fine.

Perhaps if she were drunk but quite a bit would have to go wrong for it to contribute to her death. Maybe if she went off the backside of the island and not the beach sides. However, I have not heard of any reports of a missing bucket.

Yes the bucket missing would pretty much tell the story and you’re right, we haven’t heard that it was.

BBM:

You would think so, but that doesn't really appear to be true, though.

I've lost count of the number of cases I've read here of people who went missing after having last been seen leaving a bar late at night, near a body of water.

Sadly, they end up being found in the water.

Time after time after time, we see it:

Alcohol + Water = Tragic Accident.

Apparently, all it takes is a loss of balance, loss of coordination, blurred vision, disinhibition and/or disorientation...all of which can be side effects of ETOH consumption.

A person doesn't have to be drunk to be impaired.

JMO.

Agreed.
I'm leaning towards an accident as foul play would be difficult in that small area.
Even if someone killed her and threw her on the side of the dock where they're warned not to swim due to currents-- the killer would have to depend on the current or tides carrying her out to sea.
Btw I'm 'digging' your new avatar, GK !!! :D

There is reports that salt water crocodiles sometimes are at the cayes but this one seems pretty far off shore so I'm thinking unlikely.
I have seen a saltwater croc myself in Belize, but not near there at all. In an area where there were mangroves.

I wish TripAdvisor was an approved source sometimes- but I know those are just comments. Regardless, a little can be learned there.

I've edited this because now the majority of quotes regarding him state his surname is "Rote".

Alison's boyfriend's last name is Roth, not Rota as was stated in a news article.

Yes, there is an outdoor ceiling fan too

Google Maps

I looked closer and I'm thinking this picture is not on the island. The shape of the building in the back, I don't see that on the island, and the tables and stuff. I could be wrong....but that is what I'm thinking.

Now I see the surname quoted as "Rote", so I can't confirm one way or another.

The only scenario where I can see where she would voluntarily venture to the water late at night is if she got up to use the bathroom and ended up somehow falling and cutting her foot or leg on something and she went to the water to rinse off dirt or blood. If she had been drinking, waking up to answer mother natures call would make sense....and so would maybe stumbling and needing to rinse off if she got a cut.

Then maybe something happened from there.....in the water.....but even still, she would likely scream and voices carry in such an open area, especially near water.

Too often these situations are not considered a 'crime scene' until people have traipsed everywhere and then it is too late to preserve possible evidence. Did she wear glasses or contacts, and was she wearing them? Footwear? Was she carrying a flashlight?

Sunrise, according to google, was at 6:26 AM....which is almost a half hour after her bf is said to have woken up and found her missing. If her flashlight is still there, then perhaps she got up to watch the sunrise and then something happened?

I would love to know what types of tracks there were in the sand near her tent.....and if her towel was missing.

JMO and questions.

Good questions. I’d like to know who searched the island, actually. My understanding was that it was the captain. Would like to know when or if police searched.

anyone have weather for that night /day with wind and water temp?

Just looking at all the pics and YouTube videos online, it is very shallow and very clear at the shoreline and even appears very shallow fairly far out. You can walk out pretty far and still be up to your knees.

She would have had to dive in off the dock and hit her head on something underwater in order to drown accidentally. JMO

DUI in Arizona can also be drugs (including prescription drugs for which you have no prescription). Screen shot from the Arizona judicial system attached (public access so I think it's OK to attach). More info on legal ramifications of DUI in Arizona here. https://www.hg.org/legal-articles/a...under-the-influence-of-drugs-in-arizona-31808
