He could have saved himself a bunch by sticking with the white and the VX would still look great. I guess you could chalk that one up to another poor financial decision.
You have to wonder if all of those poor financial decision is what led him to embezzle from Eurosport or was it something he did at other jobs and only got caught at Eurosport?

BUT...not as poor of a financial decision as buying a whole new VX...right.

.....or buying a VX in the first place. Sorry, I'm not a car person so maybe that makes a difference:)

Absolutely! He got so upside down on this vehicle, it was way better to repaint it and hang on to it than anything else.

Even if he sold it and bought a *beater*, he'd run the risk of it not being mechanically sound and being another poor choice. He was way better with sticking with the VX.

LOL ... my first car was a used Gremlin and I wouldn't care if I was still driving it. All a car is supposed to do is get you from place A to place B. The rest is marketing trying to take our hard earned money away from us.

I'm not a car person either.

But why did it have to be black?...he bought a white one.....and it obviously would have been cheaper just to keep it white?

Do you resemble that remark?
I'll tell you what I don't resemble.....is a man that spends all of his money on toys, at the expense of his family! You couldn't say ebay fast enough for me to get rid of all my toys in a hurry to pay for rent, etc...

Even I'm shocked at the prices here and I've had 5-6 regular (not custom) repaints. Changing color will drive your price up, but the custom job he would have had to have done must have been astronomical!

If you're going to paint the car a different color, then be prepared to remove the engine, all parts from the engine compartment, entire interior, entire trunk, and a lot of other parts. Unless you just want to paint the areas that are seen. Then you don't have to worry too much. A good body shop can work around certain things to make the car look good.

..............
The only type of body shop that will spend the time to remove all of the mouldings and trim and put them away in a nice orderly fashion would be a custom body shop. These shops will totally take apart your car, rebuild it, and re-paint it whatever color you want. They'll do custom work like graphics, pin stripping, metal flake, sparkle flake, or candy. These places will charge around $7000-$8000 for a custom job and about $3000 for a basic paint job.

I fall into the Jobless statistics that CNN reads out these days. SHIZZZ.

I'm looking hard, but its really difficult to start over.

So, I am asking $13,000 O.B.O for my pride and joy.

This 1999 VX has just under 110,000 miles, had the timing belt recently replaced, has regular oil and tire rotations and has been carefully cared for wiht no mud slinging, just rock climbing and enjoying some fun West Virginia Dirt roads!

The body is in perfect shape with a custom very nice Black paint job. I recently installed the Cobra CB radio with Firewire Antenna, but I haven't hard wired it to the car yet (cause I don't know how). I also have run the wires for the trunk popper, but again, not wired.

hmmm... $7000-$8000 for a paint job... kind of close to the amount of merchandise embezzled. :waitasec:

What made Ravens a custom paint job? I thought it was simply painted black?

I wanted to say afew things about the quote that 4wheelparts is the best 4 wheel place. I know that there is one in Charlotte, NC and this is what I have to say.... I spent $2k on parts for my jeep, from springs, to seats, liner, push bars, pitman arms, steering columns, etc... All the accessories get in and I take the jeep in to have it all installed (because I don't have a garage to do it myself)
................
it was their staff that came out, surveyed my car, recommended the correct solutions, and **** like that... And then they say they can't install any of it!!! PLuS, PLUS, PLUS, they recommended I sell the VX instead of mod it and spend the money I woud have spent lifing the VX and shiz to fix up my jeep!!!! F$*#&$'s
.........

They told him to get rid of his VX and put his money in the Jeep. I wonder what they knew? Like maybe he wouldn't be able to get his money out of the vx?

Actually, reading this got me to thinking. If he embezzled $9,000 worth of merchandise, that'd probably be wholesale value, correct? So if he sold that stuff even at a reduced rate over what the retail market would charge, he'd probably still get back more than $9,000 if he sold it all. I wonder if he sold it all, and what the $9,000 theft actually netted him after the sales.
