BLUE VAN:Investigation**REVISITED**

From article from todays CBS article:

<snip>Finally, a van confiscated by police as evidence has been returned to Chelsea Croslin, Misty's sister-in-law. Croslin says a broken headlight and an unexplained scratch on the side leads her to believe someone else was driving the van the night Haleigh disappeared. She says it was possibly an out-of-town relative that had been staying with them. "I'm not accusing anybody. It's just me being a mom and believing what I believe. And having pieced everything together, I almost think I know who it is," says Croslin.
<snip>

Finally some physical evidence <phew>!

It seems to me that Chelsea didn't notice the scratch if Misty was the one who brought it to her attention. Wouldn't you check that kind of things if you noticed that your vehicle had been moved without your knowledge?

Does anyone have an idea what's her being a mom got to do with it?

I guess Misti's cousin who messed with her was also a kid about the same age when it happened, but what the heck is wrong with these people. They allow a young man who had this type of behavior only a few years back to come stay at their home where there are children. If they believe he snuck off in the van he could have been doing other things for all they know. These things are also enough proof for Crystal to try and get custody of the little boy.
That is very upsetting. What were they thinking?

NG is talking about the predator living close to them. They showed his pic.

We need to find out more info on "white boy Greg" who might be black?
He is being mentioned by COBRA.....need pix, last name etc.........TIA

Is there a window on that wall where the kids could have been standing on the living room couch looking out onto the porch couch?

Player said it is a solid wall where the couch is. I have been looking for his post and can't find it, but I know that is what he said

Here is what I am wondering. Misty states that when she put Haleigh to bed, the bed (blanket) was wet. So, if HC wet the bed, why did she just wait until the child was going to bed to wash the blanket? Where were HC wet pjs from the night before? Wouldn't HC have gotten up and asked to be changed if she had wet the bed? Or, did she wet the bed the evening she disappeared and someone got mad at her for wetting the bed and she was strictly disciplined? I know if my children wet the bed, I strip it off right away - otherwise, there is a strong order of urine and they get up because the urine gets cold!

What I really question is WHY the blanket on the window? Remember in the beginning she stated she also washed the blanket on the window? Seems to me Misty is not that into cleaning....and I find it hard to believe she washed the blanket that late at night while the poor child slept on cruddy pillows with no pillow case. I find the whole blankets and washing suspect.

Misty calls her sister the day Haleigh went missing and says

“The day Haleigh went missing, everyone was looking for her…she (Misty) called me later that night and said 'Chelsea, please tell me you’re the one who put the scratch in my van.' I started crying and told her there’s no way I put the scratch in her van," said Chelsea."

This is on the same day Haleigh went missing when people were still looking for her, and Misty is so concerned about a scratch in her van!!?? It certainly shows what Misty's priorities are. Why would someone even care if their van was scratched if someone they consider "a daughter" to them is missing?

Misty says her cousin who is the same age as her molested her. Maybe they were just experimenting and playing doctor? Unless JO has a pattern of this with younger children, then i'd say it's hearsay by Misty's family to take the blame off of Misty.

I'm surprised they haven't arrested Misty yet for obstructing a case.. at the least.

You are saying it was Misty that called Chelsea about the van and that is not correct. The reporter said it was Misty but Chelsea never did. Chelsea said she called me later that night and said..... What Chelsea is saying would imply whoever owned the van called her that night. Lindsey owns the van so it was in all likelihood that it was Lindsey that called Chelsea. In another clip from that interview Chelsea says they were talking about what could have happened to Haleigh.
My take is that Lindsey called Chelsea, they were talking about what could have happened to Haleigh, they talked about the damage to the van and the van being moved. One of them must have called LE and told them about their concerns because LE came and took the van.
Misty would have been very busy with LE that night to have time to call and talk to Chelsea about what might have happened to Haleigh....IMO

Whether it was Misty or someone else, whoever called Chelsea definitely had a concern about the scratch and how it got there. If Chelsea admitted to having done it and how, is one thing. That she didn't, was a potential clue to Haleigh's disappearance, and it was pointing to the family. I'd been concerned too.

It does seem to have raised concerns and it should have, without a doubt. I believe that is why LE impounded and tested the van. I also believe that is why the family so believed the cousin, JO, was involved...and thought that right from the beginning. I would have thought the same thing if I were in their shoes.

I would like to know if the cousin has a history of drug use. Piecing together a couple of rumors and "facts" as stated by Misty I am wondering about this scenario:

Cousin comes to town and stays with the brother who lives around the corner. Misty and Ron hang out with him until the gun incident occurs. At that point Ron says he is not welcome over there anymore.

Misty by rumored accounts may have just come home from a bender. Might explain her blanket being in the van. Misty herself talks about how tired she was after a long weekend and that she was just out.

I think Misty was partying with the cousin, who was not suppose to be there. She may have passed out, leaving the cousin alone with the kids.

What if he molested Haleigh and in the process suffocated her keeping her quiet.

He then leaves through the door that he props open, uses the van to dump the body, returns the van to the wrong parking spot and hightails it out of there.

Misty would be quite reluctant to volunteer to Ron that she defied his wishes and as a result his daughter is gone.
I don't believe that Haleigh is alive and I don't think she was alive when she left the house.
I foresee another Caylee outcome where the body is ridiculously close to the house....

impatientredhead, Your theory would answer why Jr. said the sofa was bouncing...

what did the cousin do, carry her from the house, leave her in the shed until he walked to get the Van???

If you substitute the cousin for some other guy who took off (according to Cobra), the shed could have been used UNTIL the cousin got there with the van. The cousin is said to be pretty streetsmart.

Lindsy and Tommy lives on Tyler st,near them. So,it would make more sense that JO used the van.Tommy and the boys stopped around the time of the AC man, maybe to check and see how she was doing?

Yes,in Daytona.

Per Chelsea's MySpace account (link on WS links thread) Chelsea and her husband live in Palatka, just to the north across the river from Satsuma. Tommy and Timmy are sheetrock installers and work together at T&T Drywall. This is as of 3/3/2009, her last update.

They just moved in in November. If there were no blinds provided by the landlord, they just put the blanket over the window as a temp. curtain. I know from my younger days. I always used sheets though until I could afford curtains.

It IS suspicious as to the whole bed wetting story. It doesn't appear that Misty was a very good housekeeper, Teresa said there were always clothes on the floor and the light switch in the laundry room/backdoor entry (in the Nancy Grace video inside the home) is filthy. But you wash the blanket and not the sheets? Or were there sheets on her bed?

It also appears to me that they didn't have a night routine of bathing, brushing the teeth, putting on the jammy's, etc. Just what ever T-shirt they were wearing and ok, go to sleep now.

My main question about the blanket is if Chelsea had Misty's van with the blanket from Ron and Misty's bed in it on Feb 10, how did the blanket get there and what blanket did they use the night before? Did Chelsea just borrow the van on February 9?

I think the light switch had fingerprint dust on it and that is why it looked
dirty!

Misty does not have a van. Lindsey owns the van. Chelsea was borrowing the van and the van was at Chelsea's house the night Haleigh disappeared.
Why the blanket was in the van and how it got there has not been cleared up by LE or in the media that I have seen.
In the video walk through of the home I think I saw curtains up on the bedroom window. I was thinking that since Ron worked nights he slept during the day so the blanket would be needed to be hung over the window to block the light so Ron could sleep. JMO
