Interesting tidbits from AB's article I linked above.
Thank you for explaining everything so clearly ABro. :tyou:

The day before Dellen Millard moved The Eliminator from the barn to the location where it was discovered by police. He did this while it was dark late at night and in the company of his girlfriend, Christina Noudga.

There were 58 bone fragments, two virtually complete bones and one tooth. Seventeen of the bone fragments were classified as definitely human. The tooth appeared human.

This video shows what the crown intends to prove was Tim Bosma’s truck towing The Eliminator to right outside the hangar doors and parking. It is followed by what the Crown believes is the GMC Yukon owned by Mr. Millard at the time. This same video shows images of The Eliminator being ignited outside the hangar doors. This took place over several hours in the early hours of May 7.

CTV 11pm news just said that 3 other truck owners were contacted and he used the name Evan he must have taken these trucks for test drives as well. All say he had ambition tattoo and Dellen'S middle name is Evan. I had not heard this before.

BBM
I believe they stated a couple variations of Evan...Has anyone ever heard voice of DM? Does he have any kind of speech impediment that could cause varied versions of what he says? JMO

Re-reading the transcript just now, it sounds like they heard these possible variations while speaking on the phone -- so likely cellphones, and who knows at what quality of connection.

Sorry, but can someone tell me who was supposed to be driving based on SB's descriptions? I was just never familiar enough with the physical appearances of the accused to follow that part of the testimony (when I picture DM all I see is his haircuts and the one shirt he wore in almost every pic I remember).

SB and WDB both imply that that the taller man (DM) was on the phone.

Adam Carter
Sharlene now describing the men who came to her home. The man on his cell phone was about 6'1 with a medium build, about 175 pounds. He was white, with no accent, she says. No glasses, with clean cut, light brown hair and a scruffy beard. She says he was in his early to mid 20s.

Feb 1 2016 12:10 PM
Adam Carter
The second man was farther away, she says, a couple feet farther away from her. He was shorter, about 5'10 or so. He was shorter than Tim. He was wearing blue jeans and a large red hooded sweater with the hood up. It was hard to tell his build under the sweater, she says.

Feb 1 2016 1:19 PM
Adam Carter
Wayne says the man was about ten feet away, seemed about 6'1 or so, with an "athletic" build. Someone who was slim and muscular.

Feb 1 2016 1:24 PM
Adam Carter
He describes the second man as about 5'9, in a red hooded sweater, kept his hands in the front pocket, and kept the hood up the entire time.

Feb 1 2016 1:27 PM
Adam Carter
The man who was on the phone got into the driver's seat, Bosma got in on the passenger side, and then the third man got in behind Bosma.

This photo clearly shows DM as being the taller of the two along with plenty of courtroom sketches out there

Why would CM retain video evidence in her home of those 🤬🤬🤬 burning Tim's remains at 1:30 a.m.?

I too wonder about this girl. I am looking forward to her testimony. I don't trust her for one minute. She is as guilty as those 2 accused. JMO. Did her testimony result from her conscious and that resulted in the search of her home (parents) --not my first guess--or did she remain tight lipped and LE did their homework and found enough on her to invoke a search warrant and found the evidence in her home that resulted in her suddenly finding the light to talk. Remember this is a girl that contacted an attorney from the get go. She is no dummy. I think she is pretty calculated. She saved letters, DVR's..I think this little girl knew exactly what was up and loved the excitement of it all. Allegedly.. She was just smart enough to cover her butt with ammo against them . Again JMO

Wow! Seriously?! I can't believe how stupid DM was through all of this. Either he takes the award for dumbest criminal of 2013, or he was asking to get caught. SMH.

*Tells a friend he's going to steal a truck,
*Sent text messages to employees telling them not to show up at the hangar, not even to grab something. Isn't that a red flag right (in bold) there that something's going down at the hangar?
*DM leaves the truck in the hangar knowing the employees will return on the 8th, and see it. Did he think they were stupid and didn't listen to or watch the well publicized news a man and his BLACK DODGE Ram truck were missing?
*DM contacts someone he knows, who has a body shop because he was going to take Tim's truck in and have it repaint,
*He has an employee remove the decals,
*Both perps used their cell phone in the vicinity of TB's property...

Likely more stupid points from today, and I'm sure there will be a lot more to come.

And the dumbest criminal of 2013, goes to..... :winner:
All MOO.

I think they were visualizing a plan that had the incinerator at the end of the story...like they watch too many movies or something.

I agree Snooper. DM didn't purchase that expensive incinerator for only one body (LB). IMO he was just getting started. He had to get "his monies worth" out of it frugal 🤬🤬🤬. MOO.

BBM If my son didn't get his hair cut for his sister's wedding, I would kick his butt! Just saying...

JMO

Smich had a pretty much shaved head at the wedding, and in google still images from the ghozted video. All other pics I've seen of him have him with hair.

I guess whether or not one could see it when at Tim's depends on if the particular hoodie he was wearing covered his front hairline at all times.

Such a sweet loving young woman- isn't she? And ever so naive. There she is a 4th year university student, who even though lawyered up, didn't seem to realize that she was on DM's "no contact" list and the letters she was receiving were kind of illegal correspondence (I can't wait to hear how she was getting mail from DM- maybe by the owl in Harry Potter?) And, I believe CN lived in a house with her parents- did she not? Geesh, IMO, I know if my daughters boyfriend just got hauled away on first degree murder charges, I'd be going through her room like a schizoid tornado. The Crown say's they're calling her as a Crown Witness- hold on DM, keep smiling- I think you're about to feel every wheel on the bus go round and round with that testimony! MOO
Haven't seen this up yet- but full opening transcript is at the end of SC's article

BBM - Interesting point MsSherlock. Isn't there someone who checks outgoing/incoming mail of inmates? Perhaps Tinkerbell, Robinhood or Mary Poppins delivered their mail. :floorlaugh:

Really?! How did her parents not concern themselves after her boyfriend's arrest and go through her belongings? Maybe she had a special wardrobe to hide the evidence in, in the land of Narnia. ;)

Now that's going to be quite the thing to see when she is put on the witness stand and comes face to face with DM. Hope reporters pay close attention to his body language and the faces he makes. She will likely get the stinky eye worse than MS gets from DM. MOO.

I think I can sleep a lot better now knowing what we know now. :sigh: The Crown did an amazing job laying out what happened in those final days and hours of Tim's life and thereafter. Of course we did not get to see physical evidence today, but that is to come. This was only the first day and it's been suggested this trial could take up to four months. I have no doubts now that justice will be served for Tim and his loved ones. My thoughts and prayers go out to them as they continue the hellish journey to see justice for Tim. Rest in eternal piece Tim.

To all the jurors who so bravely have taken on this most difficult task, bless you and thank you kindly. I'm keeping the faith. Good night WS friends.

Wow, that was a lot of reading! Forgive me if some of these questions have already been answered, I may have missed something in all those pages and tweets and articles today.

I have a couple of questions, if anyone wants to help find the answers in all these pages of info:

Did I miss a part where SB was asked if the men in the courtroom were the men she saw that night? Did they mention whether or not she was able to pick them out of the lineup at the time of their arrests as we have speculated on? Same for the tenant, if anyone knows. Or is that only something that happens on TV?

Why didn't forensics find any MS fingerprints inside the truck? Was he wearing gloves, did he wipe off his prints, shouldn't they at least be on the door handles, inside or out? Is that what was in the knapsack, gloves and a gun? Maybe that was what felt suspicious to them - that a grown man would bring a bag full of possessions on a test drive that should take no longer than a Tim Hortons run. Maybe it shows he wasn't planning on getting back in DM's truck?

Did the opening statement give a motive for either suspect?

Did the opening statement also say that forensics found large amounts of blood on the cab ceiling in both the front passenger and driver side along with the broken window? I'm not any kind of an expert, obviously, but wouldn't that make it possible that the shot came from outside the window, splattering blood in a forward and upward trajectory across the ceiling of the front seat? Any word on if/where the broken window glass was found?

And who was the the member who said that if they planned this as a murder when they originally called a couple of days earlier, they could have planned the moving of the incinerator better. I think they could at least have planned to use a less conspicuous vehicle to tow the incinerator to the hanger than one with a broken window that was covered in blood, and likely contained a body. I think that is going to end up being a deciding factor in whether or not this was a premeditated murder, planned by both parties, or just one.

Oh, and I almost forgot the question that has been highly anticipated and debated, Who was driving the Yukon?!? Has it been mentioned yet, or even hinted at? I had a lot more questions as I was reading through today, but I kept reading on, wondering if the answers would be revealed before I could comment, but this is an overwhelming amount of info already, and I lost track of a lot of the questions and answers.

Just to answer one of your questions quickly, Jubalee ... wrt Smich and a backpack, this tweet was posted this morning:

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 1m1 minute ago
Cross done. Pillay asked if she saw Smich with backpack. She says no. Few other quick questions. Smich lawyer has no questions for Sharlene.

ETA: from ABro's blog, it seems DM carried a bag on the May 5 test drive:

http://www.annrbrocklehurst.com/2016/02/tim-bosma-trial-the-crowns-opening-statement.html

This person told the police that one male did all the talking and test drove the truck. He was 6’4”, 90 kg, light brown short hair like a flat top, and a tattoo of the word ambition on his wrist where a watch would be. He was carrying what the witness described as an Indiana Jones jone type satchel bag. He said his name was either Evan or Ewen.

The Hamilton Anglers and Hunters Association is in the area. They shoot there all the time and no one even thinks about it. We train our hunting dogs in the area using blank ammo and fire off starter pistols. I don't think a shot or two in the area would alert anyone to anything. This is a very rural area. This is a farming community. Someone shooting a coyote or raccoon or any critter getting into the crops or livestock would not be uncommon.

Thanks for sharing that good local knowledge. Would a gunshot at 9:00 pm, or perhaps later, not cause you to raise an eyebrow and check your watch? I expect that the farmers would be pretty good at detecting an unnatural gunfire sound, either an unexpected calibre, or sound coming from an unexpected location, something that didn't quite sound like their neighbour was hunting raccoons in the back forty.

But, you're probably right. They may have heard it and not connected it to anything nefarious.

They may have stolen the truck so that they had a vehicle to move the incinerator. Thus the search for a black Ram, something that wouldn't be spotted easily at night, probably with the proper hitch.

Will we hear that this was all connected to the charges they face regarding LB? Do you recall how the police searched the barrels in the barn? Was LB stored there until the incinerator could be moved somewhere that had a proper power source?
