#TimBosma phone used a web browser an hour after he went on the test drive. One minute after that the phone was turned off.

A million thoughts on this and I don't even know where to start. I have no reason to believe it was Tim accessing anything but why a browser? Why on Tim's phone? Why not use one of their own phones? What were they looking for, on HIS phone?

The only phone that appears to have been used by the accused that evening was a burner flip phone that likely had no browser or data. I believe one of the accused used an Iphone and I don't think TB's was an Iphone. For Iphone users, the settings on a different phone are a little tricky. Most likely the browser was enabled by accident while they were trying to shut down the phone.

It's appears that neither of them used their own personal phones prior to driving to Ancaster or while there, or the burner phone after leaving TB's driveway but it appears that the current argument is regarding prior information on the burner phone so I guess we're going to have to see if we get any more info on it and their own personal phones.

I've read all kinds of adjectives that describe Millard over the last 3 years. I have to say, "genuine guy" is a first.

A genuine guy who needed a burner phone with a fake name.

I don't know about better. But most of what has been focused on seems to be regarding DM more so there's no need for TD to object. I think we will hear more from TD when it comes to talking about the remains and the incinerator since he's previously been involved with two other cases involving bodies being burned.

THOMAS DUNGEY

Criminal defence lawyer

The Toronto lawyer is representing Mark Smich on a charge of first-degree murder.

Dungey has been defending accused killers for more than 25 years and has previously had two murder cases in which the bodies were burned.

Possibly... hopefully he can explain the missing teeth.

With him grinning/smiling in court, it wouldn't surprise me if he were doodling!:notgood:

Possibly, I doodle when thinking.

I would be interested to know what type of phone it was. I use an iPhone and continuously touch the wrong part of the screen, usually unintentionally, and open an app. Same could be the case with a Blackberry or Android with touch screen. I think the note said the browser was "briefly" open. MOO

I do the same on my Android touch screen but the screen has to be live, before that accidentally happens. Since the browser was accessed an HOUR after Tim left on the test drive, I don't suspect his screen was still live due to the screen time-out feature. (I'm probably using the wrong words here but by "live" I mean phone on, screen swiped to unlock, ready to use and/or accidentally touch an app and open it). I realize it's a lot of assuming, but assuming Tim's phone was like mine or yours, someone had to have purposely clicked it on, unlocked the screen and tapped an app to open it. I hope that made sense.

I was working that through my head as well. Based on this tweet... Phone was shut off at 10:02. IF they took the country route to Brantford (Wilson St/Hwy 2)..Google Maps tells us it is a 32 minute drive from the Bosma house to the street they found the phone (Fen Ridge/Oak Park) in Brantford. If that time line is accurate and you back off the approximately 32 minutes of drive time, that takes you to 9:30pm. Guys showed up to test drive the vehicle shortly after 9pm. I'm not sure how long they were at the Bosma house looking at the truck before leaving for the test drive but it doesn't sound like long. If they left at 9:15 for the test drive, we are really only looking at a gap of around 15 minutes. MOO

Yes and it pinged again for the last time at 10:56pm in the same area. From following many cases on here involving cell phones and pings, I will say that was the time the battery was disengaged from the phone. So it appears that it was thrown on the ground and came apart at that time? Thrown out a vehicle window?

Interesting point. You can shut off my phone from the lock screen but you can't access the browser if the screen is locked. He may not have had a lock on the phone. My next thought was that maybe it was an iPhone with the finger print technology used to unlock the phone but a quick Google search shows that the first generation of that technology didn't become available until September 2013.

I go back to my first thought that they were lost. TB's truck may not have had GPS and the flip burner phone didn't have a browser-perhaps they were figuring out where they were and how they were going to get back to Waterloo. IMHO, neither DM or MS would be that familiar with the roads- and they're not a straight line to the farm or hangar. Perhaps DM was checking to see if the trailer hitch on TB's truck would fit the eliminator? Curious if there's a browser history. MOO

The browser was accessed for less than a minute. I don't think they had any intention of using it. IMO they were just trying to figure out how to turn off a phone they were not familiar with.

TB's phone was not an Iphone. I'm sure the make of phone is someone in these hundreds of threads lol. Perhaps someone knows offhand?
