It is apparent that the company "Millard Properties" did survive it's founder.
The properties and assets of that company would then have been owned by the shareholders of that private company namely DM an his mother.

When I read that he sold the Distillery condo to his mother for the token dollar, I at first thought he was divesting himself of personal assets to preserve them......Ha, he was likely just getting rid of his share in the assets to the remaining share holder. MOO

Will we hear from a Forensic Accountant as a witness?

Big props to ABro. Her site is an amazing resource for Bosma info and I can't wait to eventually read her book. Apparently it will cover the murders of Tim Bosma, Wayne Millard, and Laura Babcock.

It might be a long wait - Laura's trial isn't even expected to being until early 2017.

Crown will probably want him to say on record what the real use of the eliminator is and how DM had no need for such thing.

I also imagine they will want it confirmed that it can cremate a human body and approx how long it would take. That way it can match up to the times of the video

Why will we hear from him and what???

My guesses: Who ordered it. What specs were required. Any mention of how it would be used. Delivery date. Modifications made. Fuel capacity. Technical details of how it works. Any visible smoke when working. Recognize the one on the video as being one built by them. Any requests regarding trailer. Where delivered. Who signed the delivery receipt. How paid. Any rush order request. How many sold in ON ...

Only if it's relevant to TB's murder. Forensic accountants usually only deal with fraud type cases.

Yup exactly.

Yes at the end of this trial I'm sure we will hear about all the evidence that got thrown out. JMO

The night of the verdict in Michael Rafferty's trial (Tori Stafford), there were articles released immediately showing all the information about Rafferty that we hadn't previously been allowed to hear. I'm sure the reporters are composing their articles as this trial goes along... ready to hit "PRINT" as soon as they're allowed to.

Susan Clairmont was also asked about a book on her Twitter. She replied that she might consider it - but only with the blessing of the Bosma family.

Lol, blame it on mom, sounds like something Dellon would do.

The poor forsaken only child DM: Serves her (mom) right, if I'm a killer!

And then the cross-exam: "Do you agree that DM made no attempt to hide this gigantic piece of machinery?"

Image by me courtesy of Google maps, my markups.

Okay interesting, the green rectangle is approximately to scale based on the zoom resolution on Gmaps and is about where I figure the shed was to be built. The purple rectangle is marking where I seem to recall another lane being. Was this lane ON the property or on the neighbours? And MY speculation goes to the red line where the top represents where the excavator appears to be attempting to cut a new laneway through the swamp, possibly to connect to the other laneway out to the road. Possibly a second entry exit to the farm? Just in case? 'You know a farm equipment emergency.' ;)

Denny says to get permission to build on the farm, one would need permission from the municipality and you'd need to state its purpose.

Adam Carter 12:31 PM
"That was not a secret, it was made very public, correct?" Sachak says. "Yes," Denny responds.

Adam Carter 12:32 PM
Not sure of the significance of this shed, just yet.

How can something be made "very" public?? Did they put up a sign on the property with intention to build? The crown should take issue with that.

I am thinking that it will take that kind of an accountant to follow the assets as well.
And if DM sold things to his mother in order to hide or protect assets would those assets still be in jeopardy in the future.

The bigger question for me is can the family go after Millard Properties' assets at a later date and in a civil suit.....not unlike what happened in the OJ Simpson case with Ron Goldman's family and the family of Nicole Simpson.
We see so much of American crime and justice system on TV and no doubt it could be done there but what of the Canadian system.

I guess anything is possible. IIRC, the Roseville farm was registered solely to DM at the time of his arrest and was one of the properties transferred to MB shortly after his arrest. She has since sold it. Wonder if DM is going to claim that he didn't know his mom was building a shed on his property? She had TB's truck in her driveway- she took ownership of the properties hours after his arrest- even the ones he inherited from WM and CM and she sells them? Could be putting a whole new spin on things!

I thought Riverside Drive and the farm were the only two properties not transferred to MB.

The Star is aware of two other properties owned by Millard that remain in his name: a six-unit residential property on Riverside Rd. and the Ayr farm where Bosma’s badly burned body was found.

http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/2013/06/05/millard_land_deals_beyond_smelly_experts_say.html

All I remember about the Riverside property was that it was no longer on the market. I believe that you had also posted some real estate information showing that the bank had put a lien on it.

I have never seen anything about the farm being transferred to MB, only that it was a private sale. I think discussion back then was whether nothing could be done or transferred with regard to the farm because of the investigation.

A real estate agent close to the deal says representatives of the company contacted Millard’s lawyers to express their interest, and a private sale was arranged from there.

I think the neighbors get letters in the mail of the proposed changes. At least our area did when changes were being made to someone's property like that. We were give a map with property pointing out the spot of the change and when.

And tell us how big this unit truly was....still a bit confusing to some even yet.

Why would he want a drive shed way out there on the property? Strange place to want to build it, IMO.

Adam Carter 1:55 PM
Back in court now. The jury is being recalled.

Adam Carter 1:57 PM
The next witness is William Penner.

  • #119
Adam Carter 1:59 PM
Penner is here to talk about emails between he and Shane Schlatman, who was an employee of Dellen Millard's.

Adam Carter 1:59 PM
He says he sold Schlatman the incinerator, dubbed "The Eliminator." He works for Tri-Star, Dairy, Hog and Poultry in Manitoba.

Adam Carter 2:00 PM
They're the Canadian distributor for the Eliminator incinerators.

Adam Carter 2:01 PM
They've sold incinerators all over Canada. "The bulk are for animal cremation and pet cremation," Penner says.

Adam Carter 2:02 PM
There are 250-pound units up to 3,000 pound units. That refers to the weight of the animal that can fit inside.

Adam Carter 2:02 PM
Three to four units a year would be sold in Canada each year.
