Do Smich and Millard always sit next to each other? I just assumed they sat beside their attorneys.. like on TV...

In Canada, as in Britain, the accused sit in the 'Prisoners Box' - no laughing and joking with their lawyer, thank heavens.

So...who's up for a Websleuths field trip? How many acres of woods are within walking/BMX bike riding/skateboarding distance of MS's haunts? :p

Surveillance photo showed him going into the woods behind his house.

I'm in, and I have a metal detector :)

That is to assume that MS actually told LE the truth about where the gun is. ;)

He could lead LE to it if he chose. He did not.

For that that MS had succeeded in hiding the weapon, in any case he would have earned ONE appreciative glance by DM, I think. But he got nothing??

MS didn't tell LE about the gun - MM did.

From the Crown's opening address:

Mr. Smich’s girlfriend told police that Mr. Smich told her that he had the gun, but that he got rid of the gun by burying it in the forest. Mr. Smich was not more specific than that with her.

need to run some ground radar over certain backyards of M properties me thinks MOO

That would be a great error - all evidence has to be on DM properties.

From the Crown's opening address:

I didn't imply that he told LE anything. Only that he could have if he wanted to.

Im still holding onto to, MM did and LE has it in evidence.

Pretty sure that last expert would have been holding the real deal instead of just suggesting the pictures may be the real deal. There will be no Perry Mason moment unless Dungey has been digging in the forest? ;)

Totally agree.....I also think the Crown would have brought this up in their OS.....(for reference....OS = opening statement....OR = conjunction.....just keeping things straight)

Excellent point. I don't know if MS told LE anything. I think that piece of information came from MM (who he may not have been honest with either).

After Millard's arrest, things changed. Madeleine burns (DM's mother) was running things as what appeared to be an FBO. #Bosma

Millardair had appearance of a Fixed Base Operation for airplanes to stay short-term was wasn't licensed for it.

^ Just thinking on these two tweets today. TD took pains to show that there was no aviation business going on and only DM's toys were being worked on. Was the FBO part of the cover story? Was MB trying to make it look like it had been an FBO, and not a chop shop, all along? If LE are still investigating, how does this fit in?

If MS is needing an appreciative glance, then I suggest that he just man up even at this late date and tell the truth and if the gun is still missing he should be leading a parade of officers right to it.....enough of the nonsense.

We are on the tab for that amazing lawyer who I have no doubt will do his best for MS even if the result is not his freedom from just punishment.
There is likely little he can bargain for at this stage of the game but if he were to come clean....show a little genuine remorse, go on the stand & tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth....he just may find himself in a cleaner, kinder facility than what I think likely awaits DM .....

given that the facility was ''up for sale'' it almost seems like ''staging'' the property doesn't it?? MOO

Fraser asking again about red dot (safety) visible in the photo of gun that shows partial face in background. #Bosma

Can we see that red dot in the first photo (of hand holding gun)? Fraser asks. can't see red dot. Just tip of safety visible she says #Bosma
