Just finished reading all the letters fairly quickly. It's impressive how much substance the reporters managed to get out in tweets. As always, their work is appreciated. Two things on the top of my mind: DM writes that it's very important that it be made known that Dellen Millard doesn't own a gun, but that Mark's 'boyz' do. He doesn't even try to put the gun in Mark's hand, despite other very obvious efforts to frame Smich! Interesting bit of Freudian distancing? Secondly, there have been a few opinions expressed that Smich was sort of the evil impetus in this crime; that his ambitions were the dark engine of violence here, and that DM got swept in. Well, even DM makes MS subservient and pathetic in his motivations. He's afraid to get 'cut off' and therefore goes out and steals a truck all on his own to regain DM's favour. Even in his defence fantasies he conjures a weaker, even obsequious minion. He was writing this script literally from scratch and could have made Mark anyone, with any motivation. That he made him a weaker partner, a follower and victim even, is interesting and probably subconsciously reflective of something.

Just for the record. This indicates that DM was expecting a visitor to drop off a letter from CN. There is no doubt that MB was moving letters in both direction. If she could drop off, she could also pick up.

So looking back on the following, I think MB is nothing close to a caring and protective mom. A caring mom is someone like the Bosma women that stated their sympathy for the LB family while going through their own horror.

MB made her feeling clear when she

Moved all DM's assets to her control shortly after his arrest.
Sent a cheque to LW_2 after she was put on the No Contact List and removed from the sale of the property
Kept SS the mechanic employed as a clerk for Millardair hanger until it was sold in 2015
Wiped valuable prints from the trailer with CN
Delivered letters to and from at least one person on the no contact list.
Called DM by phone so he could speak with someone on the no contact list

Has she ever gone public with her sympathy for the Bosma family? It's not unusual for this to occur.

Like DM, MB showed a lot more interest in CN after DM was arrested. Even CN indicated that she has become very close with MB after DM's arrest. Seems to be the same technique DM is using.

I haven't read the letters yet but that's a good observation.

In his lame attempts to make MS look like a pathetic loser, DM spins a tale about MS and MM becoming hooked on Oxy. That leads me to wonder about something that has never been cleared up, as far as I know.

Earlier in the trial we heard about drugs. Specifically "narcotics" known to many to be kept in the black & yellow toolbox belonging to DM. Kept at his house, in his room, with a lock on it. Brought out at parties. As soon as I heard about that my first thought was Oxycontin. But then the conversation quickly turned to pot, the pound of pot, the back pack smelling like pot, etc.

So... what exactly was the narcotic kept in the toolbox?

The letter suggests Mark gave Dell a pill bottle full of orange oxy pills to hold. Noudga says never happened.

"Orange guy"?? I guess it was oxy pills being referred to.

I think that is one thing that did happen--giving Dell the pills to hold--and she's covering it up to protect someone. IMO

I hope I didn't miss this in his letters, but he never mentions Mark owning a gun. He does mention that LE should never find out he owns one.

In several of his letters, he mentions something along the line that he isn't sure what defense he will use yet. I wonder what he had been telling his lawyers up to that point?

Frankly I think it's awesome that he admits in the letters what a bold-faced liar he is. Just sitting there in jail, waiting for more disclosure so he can figure out which version of his lies he's going to spin. To the jury, this must be gold.

.

What DM does not say is very revealing ...... his letters are not proclaiming innocence .... they are focused on manipulating evidence and witness testimony

and he's not even doing a very good job of this fake thing. IMO

He wants her to deal with Kodiak and warning her she will have to testify. Noudga tells court she ignored it.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 54s55 seconds ago
Leitch asks if they spoke any further about her retaining a lawyer or what the purpose of that was. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 51s51 seconds ago
She says no. Nothing that "sticks out" to her. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 43s43 seconds ago
Millard suggests she go to same NYE party or call in an emergency plumber to get in touch with Michalski. Noudga says it didn't happen.

"A lot of prosecution case is what he told police. It's vital what he told police is discredited. What he told police about a truck theft1/2

Back to the letter. "Kodiak and Snoff both went back for more interviews. Idiots!" #Bosma

I agree, she definitely knew the whole story already. When he text asking if she want to help with a tiny mission, he the asked if she really loved him, then said roll a joint I'll be there soon. I think when she professed her love for him, he spilled the beans and asked her to help him cover it up.

And if AJ had never called CS, CN would of never been asked that question. His discovery that CN was the one for him was born out of that call.

That is what editors are for. To correct those mistakes.

I guess he can write romance cards that other idiot manipulators might purchase. IMO

If DM was actually innocent or even just guilty of some lesser charge then his letters would be telling a different story. He would be telling CN to tell everyone to come forward, he would want them to come out, tell their stories, tell the truth. But the way his story unfolds in those letters tells a very different story and it's not the story of an innocent man. iMO

My favourite DM quotes:

On the LE investigation:

This is like nothing anyone dreams canadians (sic) have the resources or training to do.

On the Crown's case:

Bringing Andrew back to my side, brings me back from losing, and puts me at a tie.

On Scullion, who proactively contacted LE:

I think he is under the impression it is his duty as a citizen to give the police watever (sic) they want.

On CN and MB:

You, and my Mum, are the only people who haven't given any statement at all.

Since he's also identified himself as a "heater with a penis"- I'm thinking that he may want to make sure that gets on his "romance card design" business card when he gets to his permanent pen digs. That may be a benefit if he's looking for some protection. MOO Now, what does crack me up is his little note on that card that talks about him studying in Reno, dated 2012- on prison note paper. No one would ever put that one together. Coo coo for coco puffs. MOO

I just read the letters and am further appalled not only by the contents, but the way DM signed off in Ukrainian or code with the fist two letters TB. That oddity I find very disturbing.

All MOO.

Shades of his dad's obituary ... “He was probably the person I loved most in the world, even more than myself,"
