Why did the police that came to the hanger to check out the hot Bobcat not get an arrest out of the visit ? The Bosma incident might not have happened if DM got arrested from that. If the GPS signal from the Bobcat pointed to the hanger, and there were suspicious types hanging around the hanger, why wasn't this acted upon ?
FWIW, I own a Bobcat and a diesel truck. My truck was stolen once. Our family had a Bobcat stolen.

I don't have a theory about what actually happened. I'm just pointing out inconsistencies.
Another inconsistency is that DM went for gas after shooting TB. Wouldn't at least some part of his clothing be bloody ? Did he change before he went for gas ? And then again when he got back ?
If Smich was really only peripherally involved, why didn't he call 911 when DM went for gas ? He had 40 minutes to think about it and do it. Could have told police where they were, that DM had a gun. That and his testomony today and he'd probably not get much time at all.
I guess young Mr. Smich won't be going into general population in jail anytime soon. He is now labelled a rat.
Smich testifies that they wanted to paint the truck red and switch the VIN. I find it hard to believe that anyone could be that stupid. The red truck was a dually. TB's truck was a single rear wheel. The red truck is a long box, longer wheelbase. TB's truck is a short wheelbase. The red truck was a gasser. TB's truck was a diesel. The red truck probably had a commercial plate, which means it gets inspected, which means someone writes down the VIN. Sooner or later DM will get in trouble owning that truck. It is obviously hot and not correct for its VIN. It is obvious to anyone who knows these trucks.Respectfully, but you're misinformed/underinformed about a lot of aspects of this case if you believe any part of the last paragraph.
I'm not sure about that. He rolled on the rich entitled spoiled stealing murderer. I don't know if that would be seen with a lot of contempt in a jail setting.
Because MS said he did. Things just disappeared. Where did the chipper go ? And the Bobcat ? And the Corvette trailer and tires ?No but seriously, why do you think DM "got rid of" most of what he stole?
If I recall correctly Hagerman testified the toolbox was locked when DM gave it to him. As for CN there's still so much more to hear. Yes everything does not ring 100 percent true. Going to be a very telling few days to come.

So the VIN switch strategy probably wasn't in the cards in the initial plan. It came about when DM was stuck with the truck, as a way to hide it. So if the VIN switch wasn't the first plan, what was the first plan ?
And why did DM hide the trailer at his mothers ? Why didn't he park it at an RV storage place where it wouldn't be conspicuous, especially if it was going to contain something hot ? Me thinks he didn't ever plan for it to contain something hot. Me thinks putting TB's truck in the trailer was a backup plan.
I wonder what other missions his friends know about.

I'm pretty sure most of these things were found at the hangar. He isn't on trial for theft, though.
From the gunshot? If that is how it went down then likely. In a quiet area after a killing someone you'd think you would be a little more quiet and discreet? On CBC radio they reported that MS said DM was yelling when he got out at the industrial park. Could be his ears were still ringing.
MOO
I could understand stealing one in a low profile way and swapping the diesel engine into the gasser. But I can't understand the logic of killing the owner to get one and then keeping it as your personal driver. It would attract way too much attention to the truck. As it did. Was the plan too brazen or was there another plan ? Maybe a chop shop was supposed to buy it and give DM the engine. All he needed was the engine and maybe the transmission to convert his current truck to diesel. So you disregard all the testimony about DM wanting that kind of truck and telling AM he was going to steal one?
Millard will pull MS down with him. He'll have to find a way to testify... Now with MS's testimony, there is no way they'll refuse DM on the stand.
There is no clarity about what happened at the farm. Did DM put the body into the incinerator single-handedly, or is this why they put the body in the truck bed? I am not sure if reporters skipped that part as too gruesome.
