If DM was part of organized crime, then he was the most stupid recruit they could have found. Maybe he fancied himself as being a drug kingpin or perhaps the head of a big auto theft ring, but IMHO, DM lacked absolutely everything from motivation, organization and intelligence to be successful and go undetected. I think putting him in the same bracket as professional auto thieves is an insult to the auto thieves. Those guys actually steal Porches and have them on a boat before the owner wakes up in the morning. The key here is "the owner wakes up"- as compared to being murdered. As Sachak pointed out, DM was the loser of the loser class at the 2011 Baja. IMHO, DM stole because he liked it- he murdered and incinerated because he liked it. The only thing he's been successful at is being the sickest, most enabled, well funded psychopath the area has seen in decades. MOO

I agree. He has expanded on being "the loser of the loser class". The ambition tattoo must have been a reminder to try to complete and be successful at something ......... anything!

I am not attempting to elevate DM in any manner. IMO DM was a legend in his own mind and a shiftless trust fund child. A sophisticated criminal cartel...say ..Mexican that came across DM and the boys at say Baja could easily identify this as an opportunity to be exploited by making DM an offer he could not refuse that involved front money that they knew shiftless lazy DM would never be able to pay back. The plan is to get DM indebted to them and he is at their mercy and they in essence own him and next thing you know they take over use of stuff DM owns that they want....like airport hanger, helicopter, pilots license, etc.. I do not disagree with your points related to him liking it all and being a psychopath. I am suggesting that there was more motive to him exercising his demons than just because he liked it. In addition to liking it he was also swimming with sharks maybe. That is all. I guess my thoughts are that the people who are testifying that are part of his inner circle may be trying to make it all very black and white so that they don't point to things that they could still be charged on. It is wishful thinking on my part. When you read the news there are lots of stolen vehicles that go to Mexico and elsewhere to individuals who are not very nice I would imagine. So this may sound like conspiracy theories and it is on my part but it doesn't mean that there may be some basis to it all. It bothers me that some of these individuals are walking the street. Birds of a feather flock together in many cases.

Same sort of technique DM was using on his minions.

On that note, I was trying to make sense of the maple tree reference. If I am not mistaken, MH said DM asked if he was in on 20' maple trees, but actually stole a bobcat. And according to AM, the bobcat was their second mission.

http://www.thespec.com/news-story/6...ends-were-grown-men-playing-cops-and-robbers/

So he got the guys stoned and drunk, stole some flowers to introduce them to thieving missions. Moved it up to trees on the next mission, and surprised them back at the hanger with a major theft of a bobcat. Now all of them are quickly involved in big league thieving. Next time he won't have to lie.

But who's Wishbone? What part do they play.

Not too sure. He may not play a part that requires him to testify at all but it seems weird to list him/her as a text on the map and not have them appear in court.

MOO.

Without a doubt- birds of a feather flock together. That's how I would seen DM and MS being friends. After watching the vid's of them at the hangar, tending to the Eliminator as it illuminated the side of the hangar, I often wonder how tough these two would have really been- if they were being tossed into their giant BBQ. IMO, these two are gutless. Moving in the darkness of the night killing innocent people- an easy target. Pathetic. Not that I know a lot about organized crime, but from what I understand, it is a big no no to kill innocent people. MOO

As if LW2 wore plaid to court... DM was also considering wearing plaid in one of those letters that was published.

Tim Bosma trial: Dellen Millard stole 'for the thrill of it,' friend says
By Adam Carter, CBC News Posted: Apr 14, 2016

Andrew Michalski tells jury he was confident aviation heir would 'protect him'

Aviation heir Dellen Millard stole a Bobcat tractor and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle "for the thrill of it," his friend Andrew Michalski testified Thursday at the trial of the two men accused of killing Hamilton man Tim Bosma.

Testifying in Superior Court in Hamilton for a third day, Michalski, 26, who is from Etobicoke, Ont., told the jury that he probably wouldn't have started stealing things if not for the influence of Millard.

"I guess I felt safe around him … I can't explain it," the Etobicoke, Ont., man said. "He had money, he could protect me. I was confident he would do that for me."

I know "safe" in this context is about participating in crime. However, I can understand the appeal of "safety" to a newly minted adult. I moved out at an early age, 16, and paid my way substantially but not without challenge - while finishing high school and college. I can recall, however, my first serious boyfriend at age 21 and how safe I felt having him. It wasn't money - he didn't have any - it was more a person I could rely on, with a place I could crash at, a safety net. For the first time since age 16 I felt safe.

It can be scary to take steps to independence and see what is required - choose a career, find a home, pay for school, finish school, find a good job, etc. All with little life experience.

And here is DM providing rent free accommodation, possibly access to cars, free party 'refreshments', etc.

All opinion.
