Again I agree, what I was trying to say was that it might have been a larger size heavy duty receiver. Something that would have to be discussed. It was a 3500HD afterall.

see some examples

Was it a 3500 or a 2500? I've seen it reported as both many times.

ETA - IIRC SH testified as to it being a 2500 yesterday...I could be mistaken. And that link you posted shows the "standard" and the "dinky" sizes

2500. It wasn't a duallie.

The OTHER photos will not be found here as they were removed. The photos that I think showed the early burn patches were included with the first incinerator pics and excavator pics etc. They were submitted by a person that was on that property regularly. The pics mysteriously disappeared as they had appeared before MSM had reported anything being found on the farm. These are the ones some of us are referring to. There were NO LE in the photos. Alot of us started feeling ill when we first saw them as we were by then putting two and two together. They were only up for a very short time. AS I said in another post alot of early postings have disappeared, not just ones with photos. JMO

Well if the pictures of the incinerator were supposed to have been taken at the same time as the photos that claim to be missing of burned seats in the field then that would be impossible. Because the incinerator picture that showed up early, taken by a neighbour, was taken while it was in the trees. Testimony so far indicates that was the first time it was ever in that location, prior to that it had been kept in the barn. When it was moved to that location, the burned seats were not at the farm, they were already in the back of the trailer parked in MB's driveway. So I'm not sure what pictures we are talking about but I understand that the pictures from the neighbour of the incinerator in the trees and the excavator stuck in the swamp are still available online. If there were supposed to have been pictures of burned seats, they could not have been taken at the same time as the incinerator pictures and would definitely have been used as evidence if they exist IMO.

Well, the defence is free to call the third party if it helps their case.
If that person actually exists, I'm sure they will. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

It was a 3500. And the fact that we have this picture to prove it is heartbreaking.

You are absolutely right about that. RIP Tim Bosma!

Aren't cellphone pings and cellphone tracking two different things? And, isn't the only sure fire way to prevent any communication to remove the battery?
About the text messages, I think you can only get these is if the owner of the phone tells you or gives you the password.

iIRC there was a large smeared concentrated blood stain on the lower front passenger quarter panel via the luminal detection. Appears that the body was propped up against there IMO. Any speculation if this was done in the short time they spent in Brantford, or at the farm. One would think this would be waaaaaay to risky on an industrial road subject to intermittent traffic. IMO a lot of unsightly, grisly things happened, in the roughly half hour-40min stop at the farm, prior to going to hangar. I'm really kinda surprised there hasn't been a additional charge of 'causing an indignity to a human body'. Rest in peace Mr Bosma, rest in peace.

Unfortunately, I think in some aspects, television shows and movies (and likely some internet urban legends as well) have colored our thoughts on what is actually possible with cell phone technology. Most local police departments have a limited ability to do much, even with cell phone records from the service provider.

Deleted text messages can be retrieved with the right tools and the best IT forensics people, but that's only if they have the actual phone in their hands. I don't have a link but was told this by a local detective that helped me when my underage daughter was being harassed by an older person - and being sent texts and images that she had deleted. And yes, they did find things on her phone that you wouldn't have seen if you just pulled up the text logs or image gallery.

Pings are not hard to understand but I've seen so many people describe them differently that I can see where the confusion comes in. Hubby and I used to have these apps on our phones that track our pings. Signals sent from our phones to the closest cell phone tower. We jokingly called it the Stalker App but we had them because we'd both had accidents on the highway in the winter and it was something that made us both feel better, knowing we could login and see where each other was last, in case something happened. Thankfully it never did.

That was before google updated their GPS location reporting. Once we switched that on, on our phones, we no longer needed that app. I'm honestly not sure which technologies (pings, gps, magic unicorn sprinkles, etc.) it employs to get the accuracy as spot on as it is, but it truly is amazing. Once when hubby was gone much longer than I expected him to be while out running errands, I logged into his google account and tracked him (literally) to a dvd store in Stratford. I texted him and just said "put that one back, we've already seen it and it was really stupid". He replied with "LOL!! How did you know where I was??" I reminded him we'd both switched on google location services. :) That service wasn't available in May of 2013 with the accuracy it has now, and I had the same exact phone Tim had. At that time, all it showed was phone pings, and it really wasn't all that accurate, which is why we opted for the Stalker App (no idea what it was really called, but it was pretty good).

These are just the tools the general public has available. I have to assume LE's tools are much more advanced - but - without access to accounts or the actual phones, what they can do is rather limited. Right now, if I went missing with my phone, all anyone would have to do is login to my google account, go to location history, and literally everywhere my phone has been, shows up on the map. Literally, as in Canadian Tire, Zehrs, dentist office, etc. It's pretty awesome, really.

I cannot wait for SS to take the stand. Will it be revealed how involved he must have been.? Especially in regards to his comments to the maufacturer of the incinerator via email; what exactly was he burning to warrant his opinion of the machine being so "awesome"???

Perhaps a bit unrelated to the actual murder, but I was thinking - what happens to Tim's truck in this situation? It's been kinda torn apart by forensics, and I doubt Sharlene would want it back anyway... What does LE do with stolen vehicles like this? After the verdict is in and they have photos/videos of everything they wouldn't need the actual truck... I would hope they would sell the parts and give the money to the Bosma family... or something.

Is it a "for sure" that SS will testify? I assume he will be on the stand too. I hope so.

The crown has not presented a witness list, other than suggestions in the opening statement and I see no reference to SS there. He has not been charged with anything and is barely mentioned (so far) - the phone records/the incinerator purchase/the bookkeeper and he escorted DM when he dropped off the red truck so he could bring him back to the hangar.

They have not touched yet on evidence from the hangar, somewhere I heard they had a LOT from computers in this case - but I don't think what we have seen so far reflects that statement. Might be from PC's @ the hangar. (I don't understand why they could not find anything to charge him with - not even considering the evidence of a chop-shop)

I too am very curious to hear what SS has to say. He has the inside info, re DM intentions behind the purchase of the incinerator. *&^%$ what the was he thinking? I so wonder what kind of google searches they found and was anyone watching the news on the internet after the abduction.

He was employed at Millardair long after the arrest... I raised an eyebrow when I saw the bookepeer say that. Makes sense though, someone has to sell off the toys DM will never get to play with again. Loyal? Probably. I assume he is not sitting in court as a supporter because he can't.

I am also 'guessing' SS might even be called to the testify for the defense. Crown will get their chance at him in cross examine...

To switch VIN plates with Tim's truck, in all likelihood. He was intending on using Tim's truck as his own IMO.

SS is in this big time IMO. It's likely to me that the owner of the home, whoever it is, was unaware of the intention for parking the Red Dodge. I could be wrong about that, of course.

I won't take credit for coming up with that answer though. Kamille mentioned that.

Did anyone ever post those surveillance photos? Seems to me a key point was they went to a shed in behind the bungalow for some reason--to hide something--or get something.

(Or maybe even to size up said shed for storing a truck in it.)

It would be a (theft) insurance claim and Sharlene would have been paid out long ago . Technically it now belongs to the insurance company but remains under police custody until they are completely done with it.

In normal situations the insurance company would auction it off for salvage .... but in cases like this they usually send it to the crusher-shredder and the vehicle no longer exists.

The scrap metal will go to Japan and be recycled into a Toyota.

The insurance co. would have settled for theft, so the truck will eventually be scrapped. That's why it's so ridiculous to claim that TB might have resisted the theft. He'd probably get a better deal from insurance than if he sold it privately.
