Brainstorming Ron's flurry of phone calls

  • #261
Where's the phone records? That's what I want to see. Misty sounds like a broken record. Tommy is willing to say anything to get out of jail and Timmy is admittedly scared to come back to Florida so who was talking to who between 2/7 and 2/10 of 2009? Inquiring minds want to know.

RC denies the flurry of calls.
and the gun and the fight and a lot of other stuff
It seems like the only thing he hasn't denied is that Haleigh is "missing" IMO

Elle, what history are you talking about? Are you talking about Misty's story about Tommy messing with her? What history did Tommy have at that point in time?

RC and ToC had the recent blowout about the attempt to steal RC's gun a few weeks before the Haleigh disappearance did they not? So maybe he would be hesitant to involve ToC on the night in question but desparation made him call ToC because he knew if MC was going to respond to anyone it was her brother, MOO

PooR Ron... everyone is ALWAYS trying to steal something from him!

Like attracts like. Thieves travel with thieves. Just sayin

Thank you tl.

These threads move so quickly, I missed lonetraveler's question. That is exactly what I meant by a history with the nearest relative. Misty herself stated( for whatever that's worth) that Timmy was RC's favorite, that statement alone puts Tommy C in a less than favorable light. ( by these folks measures)

*cue Circus music*

round and round she goes. Argggg, I am really hoping for a break in this case and soon, I know we are all getting frustrated going over the same stories and theories with nothing new to add to our speculations. So frustrating.

Justice for little Haleigh.

I mean, isnt the fact that he made a large number of calls, even 20, that is a lot the night your child goes missing send up many bells and whistles?

When Shoemaker was asked about the phone call by RC that night he explained it this way:

GRACE: OK. To Terry Shoemaker. This is the attorney for Ronald Cummings, Haleigh`s father. What does he have to say about this revelation?

TERRY SHOEMAKER, ATTORNEY FOR HALEIGH`S FATHER, RONALD CUMMINGS: Well, he`s kind of shocked that Misty`s brother went over there that evening. He said all along that he did call the house of Hank Jr. and asked him whether or not Misty was there. But he doesn`t -- he`s never said that he asked them to go look for her. He just asked if she was over there. And that was at about 9:00. So I think Hank Jr.`s timeline is a little off.

GRACE: Well, it sounds like everybody has a very, let me just say, shifting timeline, Mr. Shoemaker.

SHOEMAKER: Right.

GRACE: So I`m not exactly sure that anybody knows what time it is in Satsuma, Florida the night Haleigh went missing.

SHOEMAKER: Right.

GRACE: So he does say that he called the brother and asked him was Misty there?

SHOEMAKER: Yes. He didn`t specifically call Hank Jr.`s cell phone. He called the house of Hank -- Hank Jr. and his family. And that was at.

GRACE: Did he talk to the brother?

SHOEMAKER: I don`t know who he spoke with. I know that when we were speaking with FDLE that a call came up and they questioned him about it and he said he called to ask if Misty was at their house at that time.

The article above seems to quote Rick Ryan, chief of staff at PCSO. Terry Shoemaker states the original conversation about the phone records was with the FDLE.

When I read this, my thought was could he asked if Misty was there because he needed Misty to go babysit at the MH? Because if you put Ron's call to see if Misty was there with the call between Misty/TN over babysitting, it fits.

I think LE already knows who did what, and that they are just compiling as much additional evidence onto each player as they can to ensure convictions. They have been very quiet but clearly have much more info that they can share with the public. It will be such a relief to see some justice served for this innocent child.

I am not disagreeing with you...
trying to follow you here... so do you think MC was the guinea pig here? So TN could leave MC there to deal with a "mess" RC/Tn/GGMS already knew about?

Pin it on the brothers/cousin cause LE will have no evidence to convict and they will be found not guilty?

That's a possibility I had not thought of....

I have posted many times that IMO if Ron and Misty stayed up all night Sunday night talking, it was over the phone and not in person. GGMS stated that Misty showed back up around the time for Ron to go to work on that Monday.

I agree with that...That makes sense to me...also..IF Misty SHOWED BACK UP...around the time for Ron to go to work...Where WERE H and Jr. over the week-end?? With GMS???

Perhaps that was the Hurry..on Monday ..to get to GMS and pick up H. and get her to school on time...If H was ALREADY at GMS..monday am..
So R and M could have MADE UP....OVER THE PHONE...Sunday nite..
all in my own opinion

That is what I thought within days of Haleigh's disappearance. I have not learned anything to change that opinion.

This is Ron Cummings who in his own words talks about crushing a guy's hands for stealing his gun after he has the gun back. Ron is not a forgiving guy. Yet I'm supposed to believe Ron is so forgiving with Misty that he forgives both the sex with another guy and his daughter disappearing on her watch. Not a chance.

IMO, I think those calls were to get Misty to the house. They stopped when Misty agreed to go to the house or arrived. I think LE knows this. I think LE wants to know what Misty was doing between 10 pm and 2 am because they know what she was doing up to 10 pm and she was not at the MH.

IMO, the reason that LE has had such a hard time is Ron, TN, and GGma Sykes have the info they are trying to get from people who know something happened but not enough to give LE the evidence to prove it.

OK gotcha... I'm still working some thoughts out in my achy head! I think like any other 17 year old, MC got pissed and turned her phone off. RC seems like the kind of guy that would call non-stop.
I also honestly think MC would have called 911 for help for Haleigh immediately UNLESS she was forbidden to do so. IMO

LE said MC was the key or did they say she held the key?
IMO MC is the one with all the answers and can provide LE with information that will solve the case. Guilty by omission (she should have talked sooner) but not guilty of the deed whatever it was... MOO

I think those calls were to set Misty up..I can ONLY imagine her state of mind after witnessing Haleigh's demise and being left to handle the situation on her own after he hightailed in to work so he would have an alibi.. God knows what he told her in reference to the reasons he didn't want her to answer the phone...She was/is a stoooopid stoooopid girl to not have realized she and her family were being set up to take the fall....JMO

Misty has lately stated that she did not have a key to the MH and that she had to give it back due to the big blowup that happened between her and Ron the days prior to Haleigh's disappearance from the Mh. I'm going to assume that since Ron was on Teresa's phone plan then maybe Misty's phone was also on that plan. If anyone knows that for sure let me know, please. Anyway, I can't imagine Misty having to hand over the key but not the cell phone. There are many reports of the many, many phone calls Ron supposedly made to Misty and then we have Misty in her own words say that she tried over and over to call Ron that night and he would not pick up. :waitasec: I'm beginning to wonder who had both phones. Could Ron have had both phones because he didn't want Misty to get access to the one she used to have? Was there a land line in the MH? I'm just trying to figure out this flurry of calls too. Just thinking outloud!

Just tossing this idea out there....here it goes...

COULD R have been making the flurry of phone calls...to set up his alibi..he was at work..at that time...trying to reach M..to find out how the kids were doing??.Maybe saying He ALWAYS called in the evening to check on them....and then saying he could not reach her...His phone cell pings would place him there...Then he left work...
I believe right AFTER the flurry of unanswered calls...he left work..for whatever reason...all in my own opinion...

IF we just KNEW for certain..his work hours..alas we don't..

If I were trying to call the person who is supposed to be caring for my children and they don't answer...I'd be calling and calling. Of course I would have called a neighbor or the law to go check on them about 30 minutes past the kids' bedtime. But then I would not have left my kids with the likes of MC in the first place.

It's interesting you say that, because Tommy (and Ron confirms) says that he got a call from Ron around 9 wondering if Misty was there. Tommy would be his closest neighbor/relative of Misty/person he knows.
