Brainstorming Ron's flurry of phone calls

  • #181
I feel that since PDM has refused to discuss ANYTHING, there's something important to the investigation under wraps.

MOO and stuff.

I'm retired now, but it was a strict rule with my company that we were not to issue statement to news media regarding anything that happened with our company. We were told if we did issue statements, we would be fired. We were told to refer any and all questions to our Public Relations Dept. Any major company would probably handle things this way. I figure the company does not want to be put in a bad light, and that's the reason they hire experts to handle these things. Once we had "attack" Jaybirds in our parking lot, and when local news showed up to report on this, we were issued the same warning. Seems, one of the co-workers swatted at the birds, and someone reported it as a cruelty. If you take this stance when it involves birds, imagine the warning you would get over a missing child.

does anyone in this story have concrete, unbiased alibi as to where they were that evening? these days it is so hard to stay off some sort of radar...

This has probably been discussed before, but wasn't it funny that Misty stated on her voice stress test, or LDT, not sure which one...that when she first noticed the back door open, she thought maybe Ronald had been home, and then returned to work and forgot to shut the door. Why would this ever cross her mind unless he had done this in the past? And if he's done it in the past, why not that night too?
Last thought. Since LE first reported 20 phone calls were made that night, and now saying 90, could some of them have been made from an office phone at work?

BBM I'd like to see a link to misty saying that. Ron was in trouble for Haleigh missing to much school. Ron can't stand the thought of Crystal getting custody of Haleigh and RJ . Ron knows she's out for the night...one way or the other. Perfect setup? JMO MOO

I caught that too, Maryann. When I first heard her say that I thought "yeah ok...he was there that night". Like you said, that would have never crossed her mind, as simple as it may be, if it hadn't happened that way. And I believe it happened exactly the way she said it....Ron had come home from work, and when he went back to work he forgot to shut the door. It seems that Misty "may be" telling the truth when she is "thinking (beginning her sentence with "I thought...) or she's dreaming"...does that make sense? Like when she was supposedly in the dream-like state and saw 4 people. KWIM? I believe she did see 4 people, which 4? I don't know. Remember when they had asked Misty what she was dreaming about that night and she said "NOTHIN". She said she wasn't dreaming at all. I think that was on the voice stress test.

She also talks about what her life was like growing up with her parents. I believe that 100%. Thanks for posting this.

Good point.

If she knew that Ronald was at home at some point of the night, it would also explain why Misty reportedly said to him, "Do you have Haleigh?" when he arrived.

(But if she saw Joe in the doorway making off with Haleigh it makes no sense whatsoever. Why would Misty think that Joe abducted Haleigh only to take her to Ron?)

The more I learn of Ron's lack of maturity & morals, the more I believe that he would do something just like that. I remember early on, Misty claimed to have asked Ron, (as soon as he got home), if Haleigh was with him. That's one of the reasons that I didn't think she was responsible. It just seemed too random. If we add that claim to her 'dreaming' of 4 men in the house, there could be a problem for Ron. I'm almost positive that Misty would've been drug 'crashing' from her weekend & she may have been out almost cold. so... it's possible that a lot of activity occurred, without her being fully aware.

Well, LB, that really breaks my "heart". These people, who volunterred their vacation time so Ronald could search for Haleigh, well that is over the top. These wonderful people could have spent their vacs with family or friends and I feel very bad for them. However, in the long run, they will know that THEY did the right thing, and they did it from love and from their hearts. God bless those wonderful people.

Before we believe or believe again that his coworkers donated vacation time, and PDM allowed that to happen, one might verify where that info came from. If it came from TN, or RC, perhaps it just isn't true, and with a gag on the employees, they neither confirm nor deny.

So some links to show where the info came from would be great.
I'm too lazy to go in search of it though..:) at the moment anyway.

We're starting to derail from the topic here. Let's remember this is a discussion about Ron's flurry of phone calls. Thanks!

Well, Kimster... that flurry of phone calls took place while he was supposed to be at work... it's a natural progression to question WTH he was doing if he wasn't working!
Not being critical of you, of course.
Actually, I'm floored to hear of 90+ calls.... that seems like he wouldn't have time to actually get any work done.

Ron had two neighbors, one on each side of him. One of the them were the Poppens and the other were the W's.

The Poppens both commented on what they saw and heard, but neither mentioned the children playing outside. One spoke about the Altima and the other spoke about the call in the morning made by misty.

The "W" neighbor has not said anything to the press to my kge. It was rumored they weren't home that night.

Always great posts Whisp - Did the Poppens move immediately after the disappearance of HC or had they planned to move previously?

Jo's a cover story IMO. Misty knew is m.o. of bumping locks and bricking doors and used that. I could be totally wrong and maybe Jo is in to this up to his eyeballs. Who knows... o wait, Misty knows! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I'd never heard that. I hate asking but do you know when she said that? Like in an interview or was it an Art Harris report or something?

And I think 90 calls is a lot! (See Kimster I'm on topic )

Honestly, I don't remember, but I think it was an interview-either vocally or a newspaper account. I've read very little blog work, so I doubt it was Art Harris, etc...

There may have been earlier interviews where she said so but one place she said so was the hypnosis tape.

What was she wearing?
She was wearing her pink Hannah Montana shirt and her underwear. She had shorts on but she took them off. She don’t like to sleep in clothes at all, she hates clothes, wants to strip all the time and be in her underwear. And probably it took 30 minutes for it to wash and probably like 60 minutes for it to dry and as soon as that was done, I got in my pajamas um and I laid down on the bed. And I remember I was halfway asleep and I remember Jr. getting up and going over me and was out the bedroom door. And then when I woke up and he was on one side of me but he was moved to the other side of me and that is when I woke up and noticed that the light was on in the kitchen, so I went to the kitchen and I seen the back door was open so I started freaking out about the back door. So I ran to my bedroom and got my phone and then um I tried to call Ronald he didn’t answer, well before I called Ronald, I turned around, while I was grabbing my phone, I turned around and saw that Haleigh was gone and I tried calling over and over again, I was freaking out, looking under beds, in closets, everywhere and screaming her name. Bubba’s up at that time and he’s freaking out too. That’s when I opened the front door and Ronald was pulling up and I asked him “do you have Haleigh? Do you know where Haleigh is?” And he was like “what do you mean?” And I’m like “Haleigh’s gone.” And we looked and searched and we couldn’t find her. And that’s it

Yes I remember this too, Misty asked RC "Is Haleigh with you?" or Misty said she asked RC that. Originally I thought she might ask that because RC said he worked overtime that night and if Misty looked at the clock and saw 3, and RC was getting in at 3 something, that would be late and perhaps if he usually got off work at 12 or whatever, there would have been time for him to leave work, get home and take Haleigh somewhere with him....hence no Haleigh at 3 something.......but now I am just suspicious they all lie. LVA or not. JMO

Wow, thanks for posting DotsEye's transcription again Donjeta - for some reason, re-reading it again this morning - a number of things jump out at me. Now I just need to find the appropriate thread to post my thoughts on about it... :waitasec: I guess maybe the theories thread.

ETA - Nope, taking it to the Misty's hypnosis transcription thread!
