Calus if everyone simply choses to blindly follow what the media is saying or except with out any evidence presented that this guy is guilty with out question or speculation, then I guess my question is should we just shut down WS and convert it into a knitting forum?

STan Goldman said that Karr was under the arrest of CO and that agent could have taken him straight to CO. but instead he left, saying he had to leave for a family emergency. That left the extradition process in CA.
The implication is that they just are trying to buy more time, because the clock doesn't start ticking for CO, until he is there. By leaving him here for a few days, they have more time in CO. but the upshot is he didn't have to come into CA custody at all.
If they stall, they can have the results of the DNA back.JBean said:

Actually, questioning is one thing. But is seems that some people get confused as to the fact that they are NOT actual investigators. It is just funny how some people question everything from the extradition process, the order of charges, which genetic markers constitute a full DNA sample and that this guys can't match, etc. It is actually kind of funny that some people have become naysayers about EVERYTHING. Almost as if they are a relative of Karr's or the Ramseys bent on disproving everything.
I know there isn't a lot of evidence out there and we are all chomping at the bit. However, it is almost as if someone is always looking for a conspiracy everywhere. "Karr was transported via a 777"....and someone will post "Aha, the 777 doesn't fly into LA, this means that the CO and CA authorities are lying about Karr's whereabouts....what does it all mean?". Nah, it means the same reporter that calls a civilian made AR15 rifle a fully automatic. Not everything is a conspiracy.
That's all. Not admonishing anyone in particular.

Tybee: I have been saying the same thing you said since last week. If they can prove his DNa or he was in Colo. I will be happy that maybe this case can finally be settled. But all this spin on things we can read anyway we want to.tybee204 said:And for others it isnt either or. I am not a Ramsey absolutley did. But I have serious doubts about this nut job or the Boulder DA's having her ducks in a row. It seems to me more and more that she was forced into an arrest before she had a case. If they put this guy in Colorado in 96 or match some DNA I will be doing handflips ( imaginary one) .
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The schoolteacher who claims he was with JonBenet Ramsey when she died met with a defense lawyer in a Los Angeles jail on Monday as he awaited proceedings to send him to Colorado to face possible charges of murdering the child beauty queen. John Mark Karr was expected in a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday morning for the extradition hearing.
The direct flight to Denver wasn't the question. Here, try it this way, what would have happened if he had flown into New York?i.b.nora said:I am interested in helping to sort this out, if only for my own education. I didn't hear what Stan Goldman said but based on what you have said he said (that Karr was under the arrest of CO) I am just not sure that is accurate.
What I do feel is accurate is that the DA Mary Lacy needs all the time she can get. They didn't know the guy's name until shortly before he was 'detained' in Thailand. They hadn't investigated anything prior to that. They couldn't possibly have.
I will bet that Lacy is praying that he fights extradition tomorrow, but the indication is that he won't. She had better have all her ducks in a row very very soon.
This whole thing is going to blow up, imo.
And, regarding Tybee's comment about Denver being an International Airport, it is. (I stand corrected on the Customs comment) but, very very few flights from Asia fly directly to Denver.
this is that same conflicting report. our local LA news says he will be out of here pronto even if he fights. They have said it would only be a few days delay.Buzzm1 said:Karr to appear before judge tomorrow

However, if Karr chooses to fight extradition, then a hearing on that issue will be set for a later date. Gibbons said Karr could be in Los Angeles for anywhere between a day and six weeks.

Van Zandt practices in CA--wasn't it mentioned that she is a public defender. JMK will most likely have a name attorney in CO.scandi said:I don't understand why this is written to sound so casual, which to me makes it lose validty, from Buzz's link on page 5:
"Marie Case, who represented Karr on the 2001 misdemeanor charges, said yesterday that members of the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department mentioned to her at the time that "there was possibly some involvement" in the Ramsey slaying 1,200 miles away in Boulder, Colo. -- "just saying, 'Hey, we're looking at this guy.' "
Do you think it is the feeling this lawyer wants to put on the info or maybe written by a clerk or some reporter? I read Karr wants a different lawyer than VanZant in Co.

I understand about the FTA, but what about violating his restricted release?Isn't that a charge unto itself?FactorFiction said:There are no charges pending in California, except for FTA, Karr has already been convicted of Childcharges. CA can waive/hold the FTA charges and allow CO to charge Karr with murder...I'm not sure what CA law is regarding statute of limitations for charging someone for FTA.
