Bugging devices?

Is there a thread on this? Seems like a good topic for a thread. FBI evidence and the Sunshine Laws. And how the FBI and the Sheriff's Office work together as far as sharing evidence and presenting evidence at trial etc. Guess I should do a search.

Bold mine.

You are absolutely right! This would be a good topic for a thread. I'm not sure how to start one....maybe you know, and if not, some other WSer will start one. Pretty please!

Excellent thought there, mom2chloe! I keep forgetting about the FBI's involvement and the fact that they may be the ones with all the incriminating evidence! Thanks for refreshing my mind! :blowkiss:

Ditto! Me too...It is very possible that the FBI is hanging onto some important evidence, and that would be wonderful! I keep forgetting about them!

I think and hope they are... especially when the SA is in court saying they have no jurisdiction over the FBI and cannot provide certain docs to Jose until the FBI decides to hand it over.

Like the docs about the duct tape where it says no prints were found for GA, CA, and LA, then omitting KC completely. It's like, c'mon!!

In regards to the topic at hand......the A's were suspicious early on about bugging devices. KC mentioned it to annie, KC even had another phone while on bond..LA mentioned it to Tony L in the car wiretaps..and early on their PIs were wanding for any bugs.
I hope the taps reveal something atleast. Even though the A's knew they were being tapped, I have confidence that they let something slip, cause they can't keep their big ole mouths shut.

I also hope it's in better quality than the taps in the baby Sabrina case. Those audios were completely inaudible. Completely worthless (imo)

ETA, I really hope it is the FBI still holding onto Lees interview. That one is driving me crazy. He seems like the type to collapse under pressure from the big guys. I think he spilled a lot to them.... being the little investigator that he is (LE humoring him about it even, hah)

Apologies if this has already been mentioned as I have not read the entire thread but I wanted to mention that in the case of baby Sabrina A, who turned up missing from her parents home in the middle of the night in 1997 in the Tampa area, that once FBI was called in, they obtained a wiretap and listening devices in the home. Since the FBI was called in early on in this case, I am optimistic that they may have been able to secure listening devices in the A home. We will not know what the FBI has/knows until trial time most likely. I for one am keeping my fingers crossed that the Feds have much more than we can imagine and IIRC, the Feds are immune to the sunshine laws. JMO

bbm: Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, could that be why there are so many discovery items missing that we all thought for sure would have to have been released by now? I never considered that the Fed's investigation would be subject to different rules. Thanks for such an informative post.

I might be completely wrong because I'm not a lawyer, and I'm not even from Florida.

Evidence obtained by the FBI that the prosecution wants to use in their case does have to be turned over to the defense as part of discovery. At that point does it fall under the Sunshine Laws for Florida?

I'v always remembered FBI agent Nick Savage based in Fla. (Ithink Tampa, but need to relocate this) called to Orlando for this case. I felt amused by CA's interview thinking he was there at the families request and NS let her ramble on about not appreciating OCSO. FBI agent NS is a part of missing childrens division which encompasses crimes against children as well. I feel the feds (have nothing to base this on) were given cart blanche within a week of Caylee's reported disappearence. I think FBI left all the interviews and such to OSCO while they were watching the family, getting the financial end of the crime together, an ivestigated the main players and their relationship to the crime and criminal at a deeper level. Couldn't the Fbi currently state that they are still investigating to avoid turning their results over to Defense? OT: Would anyone know where to find the video related to checking the A's house for bugs the night the A's returned from LK show?

Funny you should mention that. Yesterday I listened to the conversation from the visit GA made to the jail on August 3, 2008. KC told GA, "I want to be home and be stuck in the house so nobody can talk to me." (around 16 min. mark pt. 1 Jail visit released 12/4/08)

I'm thinking "That didn't happen." "You're so full of it." etc, etc. Then GA begins explaining to KC that the situation they're in is worse than loosing a dog or a cat - the ultimate bad thing.:waitasec: Oh really? GA felt he needed to explain that to KC. Weird.

It IS weird. More Anthony-speak perhaps? Remember, Caylee was found in the family pet graveyard area.

If the prosecution wants to use something at trial, they would have to get it from the FBI and disclose it.

I recently became confused about the pet area thing - so what else is new? Not sure where, but some peeps were saying that the pet area was more Kio's thing but that's where they hung out. Then someone else posted a retort with a link to Kio's interview which can be found in the docs thread. I guess I didn't care enough about it at the time to digest it. No matter, I've never seen any substantiation on that - proof of a pet cemetary and/or conversation about the A's early pets, who died, etc. Regarding interviews, I tend not to believe everything in them because I don't know the person who is being interviewed/their motivations, etc.

IMO just because someone says something, doesn't mean it's true. :waitasec:

With that said above, I thought of the pet area story too when GA said that to KC. I was thinking is he reminding her that now this is much more serious than when she killed her frog or whatever. If that's the case, you'd think GA would have a much different disposition by now.
