Perhaps they ran the business out of their home but they must have also had some kind of office with a lobby/front desk because this article says the wife of the kidnapped relative found out about the situation when she "got a call from the business saying no one was at the front desk." ‘Please let them go safely’: Search for family of 4 kidnapped continues in Merced County

Yes, in the video above, a relative said they sold chips, soda, etc, like a small grocery store.

He said they came here for the American dream. I hope they are found safe so they can continue to live it.

If you search for "All-phase Electric Supply" on a google map of Merced it will get you very close. Their address is 766 Highway 59. But there do not seem to be any businesses on the 800 block.

On the street view image from 2021 there is what looks like a green field with either crops or weeds. The satellite view from 2022 shows a graded area like what would happen before new construction. There also appear to be two excavated areas like there would be for underground storage tanks. I think it was a newly built gas station next to All-phase.

I tried searching Merced County criminal records for the suspect’s name, but unfortunately that particular court does not allow online access, unlike many of the other Superior Courts in the state.

No connection to the suspect. Could this be a case of a mentally ill person or drug addict doing something awful for no other reason than robbing them? Seems unbelievable

UPDATE - It was determined that the photo of the person at the ATM was not the person of interest that is in custody. The victim’s ATM card was used, however we are working with the bank to obtain the correct photo.
