I am 100% confident they will find these perps. Unless it's a stolen car. Then my confidence level falls to 75%.
Although the CHP image of the VW has some pixelation, I think the rear bumper area is intact. I’ve looked at some pictures of new 2018 and 2019 Sportwagens (VW Golf station wagons) and the rear bumper profile and lights look about the same as the suspect vehicle, with slit-like tail lights, and a complex rear bumper and fender profile. I can’t find a picture without copyright issues that I can post here yet, but I think the vehicle might not be damaged at all.

I was there a few days ago but my confidence is starting to slip.
I think a lot of my confidence comes from the relative scarcity of the suspect vehicle.
I read a news article yesterday that stated LE is getting tips.I was there a few days ago but my confidence is starting to slip.

I remain confident. I agree on the scarcity of the vehicle. Also, there is more than one person that knows. As mentioned by people earlier, big data techniques could be of use (just recently thought of insurance data as well). Should be solvable, but the perps could get extremely lucky (hopefully not!). MOO.
the car hasnt turned up. but they could have torched it somewhere. if it was just stolen, they would dump it but now there is a murder tied to it.I am 100% confident they will find these perps. Unless it's a stolen car. Then my confidence level falls to 75%.
Well, I hadn't even thought of torching it. Good point, though. On a maybe positive note, someone knows neighbors with such a car & a love for guns. MOO on that. Maybe someone has been acting strange, didn't show up for work, took off suddenly......the car hasnt turned up. but they could have torched it somewhere. if it was just stolen, they would dump it but now there is a murder tied to it.

Aiden Leos shooting: Reward in fatal Orange County road-rage shooting grows to $500,000 - ABC7 Los Angeles
The reward in the hunt for whoever killed 6-year-old Aiden Leos in a road-rage shooting in Orange County has grown to half a million dollars.
MOO here but, I feel like LE should come out and flat out directly address a comment to the driver of that car and offer her immunity. Let her know that they want the shooter & that she won't be prosecuted and that she is eligible to receive the reward money. That would put her on about as hot of a hot seat as she could be on. The shooter has likely been reminding her that (in his opinion) she is as much a part of the situation as he is & that if she turns him in, she'll go down for it too. This would remove that "power" he is holding over her. And yes, it would put a bullseye squarely on her forehead. But if she realizes that, she may be more apt to get away from the shooter and turn him in *immediately* before he has a chance to hurt or kill her. And while I don't want to wish ill on her, if he did harm her, well then there would be another crime scene - and maybe he wouldn't be able to cover that one up or explain away a missing person.Amazing. So, polar opposite results, right? (1) increased incentive to call in tips, (2) increased incentive for the shooter to murder what might be the only person who knows his secret.
Wow. Now there's a scary, but possible, scenario. Yet, if he were to kill her, who would notice? Neighbors, Friends, Family, People she might work with. That could make killing her difficult. MHOOAmazing. So, polar opposite results, right? (1) increased incentive to call in tips, (2) increased incentive for the shooter to murder what might be the only person who knows his secret.
I don't see that happening. She pulled the car behind the victim. Somewhere above on this thread is a statute. She is also guilty. And certainly, ethically, that sends a bad message to humanity. Plus, the people who put up all that award money would have a herd of cows if she were to get award money. Also, if he so easily shot at someone's car on a freeway, my guess is should LE put out any announcement directed at her, then her life would be immediately in danger. ...again, just my thoughts.
@Finlay sbm Good thought, seems your idea could successfully incent the driver to ID the shooter to LE. Making it work would take coordination btwn LE, prosecutor & the fundraiser sponsor/organizer. Could it happen?... I feel like LE should come out and flat out directly address a comment to the driver of that car and offer her immunity. Let her know that they want the shooter & that she won't be prosecuted and that she is eligible to receive the reward money....
Sorry for the late response. Can someone explain, please the types of lanes and transponders related to that? Thanks.
