Found Deceased CA - Alfred Mejia, 71, San Diego, 4 Oct 2017

San Diego police are seeking the public’s help in finding a 71-year-old motorcyclist who has been missing five days.

Alfred David Mejia was last seen leaving the Kearny Mesa area of San Diego on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

“Mejia was traveling home to Ocotillo,” said a police flier Monday, but he never made it home “and has not been heard from since.”

Police said they were told Mejia has never gone missing before and it is uncharacteristic for him not to contact family.

Mejia is a bald Hispanic male, 5 feet 10, 190 pounds with brown eyes.

He was driving his 2012 black Harley-Davidson motorcycle with California plate 21G0140.

A missing Ocotillo man last seen in San Diego's Kearny Mesa neighborhood has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash on Interstate 8, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist - later identified as Mejia - lost control of his motorcycle for reasons still unknown, according to a CHP report.

The motorcycle veered to the left and crashed into a rocky median.

Mejia suffered fatal injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
