Just saw the most recent tweet. Father is acting clueless. Says he wants to help search for his son. Grrr....

But it doesn't add up to have a reason to hold someone on 10 million dollars bond, and then release them unless there was NO CRIME, correct? And that doesn't seem to be the case, so far. Did he get bailed out?? Did someone pay 1 million dollars to get this dude out of jail?

I am so frustrated with this man. I wonder if someone in his family has money.

Whoever said this has shades of Deorr, I hope you're wrong, but sadly, I don't think you are. ****.

Police were still searching for witnesses, and said that the child's father could be re-arrested if more information emerges.
Andressian's attorney told NBC4 he was released due to insufficient evidence.

but this is odd:

"Search dogs and a dive team were at the scene. Sheriff's officials said the boy and his father were in the area on Friday."

Are they saying the boy WAS at Lake Cachuma Friday? Or is it wonky reporting?

You're right!! Who is the woman on the other side of Mickey?!?!

Maybe the grandmother? It was mentioned earlier in the thread that she accompanied them to Disneyland.

I think possibly they're making a distinction between both being seen "in the area," and dad "at the lake."

I'm still hung up on this guy being released. You're right, child endangerment or SOMETHING. Since when is it OK to have your child in your custody, and then not know where they are?

Isn't there a charge of interference with custody or something like that he could be charged with?

I wonder if LE truly has nothing to go on. I bet they're going to have eyes and ears all over the father.

He is their ticket to finding him.

I don't get it. Child endangerment, neglect, custodial interference! There must be something they can charge this guy with! He has no idea where his son is? Come on! :gaah:

Cadaver K9s run through his vehicle would give us all a quick answer.

What if...what if dad is clueless. Grandma was mentioned in the court paper we saw. Perhaps she was not happy with either parent. Maybe she is the overbearing type of mom/MIL and decided she knew best and somehow took possession of the grandchild. Tells dad, "You go out today, AA Jr. and I will play here. You need some fun and I need some AA Jr. time". Dad goes off, gmother arranges for AA Jr. to go somewhere that gmother will later meet up to take custody so AA Jr. will be raised correctly. Dad figures this out (or just finds the house empty) when he gets back to mother/gmother house Friday night. Gets distraught. Something happens to dad or is made to happen to dad and there he is Saturday morning. Maybe he calls mom, she says she will meet him at the park...
I'm probably dreaming, but I want to believe this is what happened, because the alternative is not a dream, but a nightmare.

So... Clearly I'm obsessing. Labor day, I'm glad you're here to discuss this theory of mine. I'm trying to think of some way this guy could be passed out by his car and not held responsible for where his child is. Let me be clear that I do believe he knows, and that LE thinks he knows. Could his blood results have been clean? Could he have poisoned himself with insulin or something? They might not be able to prove that at some point, correct?

I know this sounds elaborate, but this is not adding up, and I don't think it's because this dude is innocent!

When I saw he was released I theorized his ex met them at the park, drugged him & took their son. Pretty far-fetched - but I'm trying to be optimistic. In terms of drugs used, my 5yr old was given ketamine in the ER a few weeks ago so the Dr could realign her broken arm. That was "conscious sedation" - her eyes were open but she didn't remember a thing. And I think the whole thing lasted 30-45min. I'm not that street savvy on what could knock you out and cause memory loss.

Agreed. I'm wondering if they really don't have any idea why he was unconscious, or if they're purposely not disclosing that information.

Also, if he overdosed on something and lived through it, are they allowed to disclose that information to the public? Would privacy laws prevent that from happening?

But I think ketamine would show up on a drug screen.

Also, not responding to anyone in particular, but it would be rather difficult to keep a 5 year old safe and hidden. And he's a big kid. Ugh.

I agree with everything you said Dateline. I believe strongly this man knows where his child is. And IMO it's entirely possible he was faking his loss of consciousness but honestly I think it was illegal drug use. Do we know for sure that LE did a drug screen on this guy? I'm sure he was taken to a hospital, but unless he was under arrest or remained unconscious, I believe a consent would be needed for a drug screen. I also imagine he could possibly have been attempting suicide.
It pains me to know how this little boy was put in the middle of an ugly divorce. This happens to countless innocent children. I only pray he is found safe.......and soon!

Does anyone know if this family has friends south of the border? After all, it's only a few hours drive from the OC.

Tag and release the fish... there will be GPS tracking device on his vehicle and maybe even a microchip behind his left ear. :D

Good point. HIPPA. But I feel like they would be able to hold him on some kind of charge if anything illegal showed up. Right?
