Agreed. Many husbands and wives wouldn't be comfortable discussing ex-partners, so she could have known little or nothing.

Thank heavens my thanks button has returned. I'd carried on the 'thank you' thing with Oriah in private and was under the impression I was winning - but I was beginning to think she'd trumped me again by getting to my thanks button!

Oh I think Georgia knew all about Fontelle. JMVHO.

I looked it up on the most credible, neutral, written source we have available to us - which I think is PE. I am not going to link his blog because he's had quite enough harassment from the daughters already.

But this is what PE said Bob had said:

'It turned out the people Bob was staying with wanted him to marry their niece, Georgia. The Uncle had never given Bob any of the letters Fontelle had written him. He thought she had given up on him. He married Georgia and had a wonderful and fulfilling life with her'.

I'm not sure how much it helps. It definitely indicates the 'uncle did it', but I can't tell from that if Georgia was aware or not. If letters were left on the table for the young man she liked, and they were in a female hand, would she have been likely to notice? Ummmmm.....

I notice PE tried from the beginning to contact JuM and she never returned his calls. A kind neighbour who wanted to help her find her father.

I am beginning to think that poster's offer of 'low-cost legal aid' to her was superfluous - I think she probably had a lawyer already.

I firmly believe this story. I believe that Fontelle was robbed twice. Which is why it is so very very important that she know there are people working really really hard to try and bring Bob back to her.

It is unbearable to me that when he is returned to her, she will have a grave to visit. And yet that is the best we can hope for at this moment. It is time to bring him back. More than time.

It must be irksome - if you are JuM's lawyer and not low cost - to have so many people thinking you are, just because of that chance offer of help on the internet.

Never mind, I'm sure JuM was properly grateful and sent the poster a graceful, thank-you email in reply.

Oh, if only we had a copy of that email! :-)

Or threatened her. Either or.

So he was alone for just over a year, and that's all it took for this proud, hardworking man to become so totally alone and not coping. Where was his help and support then? He seems to have done a fair bit of supporting himself, for family members. Where were they when he needed them? I thought it was supposed to work both ways?

Ah. Yes. There was his SIL, of course. And all those small repairs. Maybe they thought that was more than enough to pay Bob back.

BBM

Perhaps thats why the BL seemed so appealing...

A few classics to review for those of you who are unfamiliar with the occasional, apparently unsavory, communications that JuM has sent out from time to time:

Example One

A follow up

Those are some PM's I would like to see. This occurred around the time of the I330 body discovery. It seemed for a time that the daughters of Bob thought it might have been him.

What an interesting opinion.

Surprisingly I agree that Georgia Harrod new Bob Harrod well.

Lets see. According to Fontelle, she began dating Bob Harrod at the age of 12( 2years prior to their engagement in 1950).

Bob Harrod as well lived with his sister whom he was close to.

I bet she has some recollections. I would wonder if they included Fontelle or not.

I have seen some pretty low accusations, and pretty much a free for all in this thread regarding accusations against the family of Bob Harrod especially considering that there are:

No named POI
No named Suspects

Attacking Georgia Harrod, the deceased wife of Bob Harrod and Georgia Harrod's relatives, based on a story of one person, is appalling and beyond disrespectful, especially considering that she is not able to address this accusation as she is dead.

To state even further that it is due to the DNA of Georgia Harrod and Georgia Harrods parents and aunt shows that some people must not be able to understand that DNA comes from BOTH parents.

This crosses all acceptable lines and stoops to a new low.

Allusonz, I really don't see how suggesting a young girl in love might try and 'get her man' is an attack. It's a never- ending story throughout history. It's her daughters who have trashed her memory, by disparaging and posting hateful comments about the man she chose to stay married to for so many years.

Some of them have stooped very low indeed, in that respect. IMO.

It is reasonable to accept the word of CAExile-he is a verified insider here. He has been steadfast regarding his friend. He has shared personal history and he has supported the version of events as related by Bob himself in his media interviews regarding Fontelle's arrival back into his life. Bob had great joy in the return of his first love. The one he never forgot.

I believe his version of what happened that disconnected the two of them when Bob left for Camp Pendleton.

As Bob said many times he dated Fontelle, I don't know why you would doubt him. You have just criticized us for speaking ill of the dead.

Glad to see you back, Allusonz. I have been wondering where you were. :)

Accusations have been made against people that are deceased based on the theory one person presented to Bob Harrod.

There is no way to verify if this actually is what happened.

To then accuse them is completely unacceptable no matter how an individual tries to rationalize this in their mind.

  • #798
Again, Bob's friend has provided many details that dovetail with Bob's own words. It seems unreasonable, actually, to assume he would be faulty or lying with this story. Kind of a bizarre story to make up, actually.

  • #799
Once again there is no way to verify if this is the actual chain of events that happened.

It was a THEORY presented to Bob Harrod.

It cannot be justified. Period. No matter how it is presented.

Actually, I don't understand that. A theory presented to Bob by who?
