I'm not sure it's such bombshell news TBH. It would be fully negligent of police not to be investigating the poss/probability D4vd murdered her and stuck the body in his car.
Even if it's not a theory they can announce without a cause of death. They aren't about to waste time waiting for the Coroners Office before they start investigating D4vd/a potential homicide. Not when they are already starting their enquiries months after her death. Putting them on a far tighter clock to collect certain easily lost evidence DNA, CCTV, traffic data, quality witness accounts etc
More interesting is that there are 'sources' confirming that
a) She was dismembered (with help?)
b) They think she died in spring
c) D4vd isn't co-operating
I wonder if police found more recent photos of her, on the electronics they seized from D4vds house. And SF just found a memory card with some older photos on that got missed.
I am having a hard time working out how this midnight drive to the backend of SB fits in. Even if she was alive until spring. Granted the journey could be a suspicious break in routine. Particularly if it's recorded in the black Tesla's navigation logs after D4vd let the regs lapse and started using the red Tesla in February. It should be certainly be investigated.
At the same time though, WTF would he be doing? Apparently not scouting or dumping her body. Since he drove back to L.A parked his car back on his street for a further 3+ months.
The remains of Celeste Rivas, 15, were found in a Tesla registered to singer D4vd at a Hollywood tow yard in September.

That same source said the 20-year-old artist has not been cooperative in the investigation. Police tell NBC4 Investigates that Celeste's death likely occurred in the spring and that D4vd likely had help in dismembering and disposing of the body.
D4vd is viewed as a suspect in the death of Celeste Rivas, the teenager who was found decomposing in his Tesla ... law enforcement sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ.

As far as we know, there is no paperwork classifying D4vd as a suspect, but as one of our sources told us ... "Investigators are looking at D4vd as a suspect."

We're also told they're viewing Celeste's death as a homicide, even though the Medical Examiner has yet to determine cause or manner of death -- investigators are still awaiting toxicology results.
One source claims the police investigation revealed that around the Spring of 2025, D4vd took a trip in the middle of the night to a remote area of Santa Barbara County and remained there for several hours. We have not double-sourced that information. It's also unclear why a Spring trip would be on LAPD's radar.
We have not been able to find a photo or video of Celeste since September 2024.
I do think TMZ is hedging harder than they usually do on the reliability of this source.
I always take these sort of police leaks in high profile cases with a pinch of salt. If they didn't get to a detective on her investigation team. It's possible their source is someone adjacent who has heard the department gossip. Police like to gossip as much as anyone. The wilder the case, the wilder the gossip, only half of it accurate or up-to-date.
