A statement from D4vd's manager from your link:

“This video is false and the person is misinformed. This is the only time I’ll speak on this matter. FOR NOW. This has been a tough time for my family as I am a father of 3 children. I received no emails and I’m no one’s room mate, I live full time at home with my wife and kids. My daughter is 14 and this news is affecting so many lives. I never received any emails. I had zero knowledge of anything and I don’t live in California. Also I work remotely 95% of the time and my job doesn’t require me to have much interaction with any of my clients/David, as there are many others that work with him on a day to day capacity, not me. This news is tragic for so many and for her family. I hope the proper authorities get to the bottom of it soon. Let me remind people a lot of this is speculation and alleged. In the meantime, I am with my family helping them emotionally get through the news of this tragedy. Please report on factual information.”

Who does he think he's kidding?

IMO, it has to do with the fact that her mom didn’t really do much looking for her or try to bring her home. She seemed ok that she was gone and dating someone named David at 13! That’s not a typical response to a missing child or runaway. Not for me.

All my opinions.
So D has been known to say he is from the Internet...let's consider he says he was home schooled... pandemic shutdown was for him when he was 15. 15! So he had no real friendships IRL (in real life) and cultivated a persona. It seems Also a huge fan of anime / gore / video games / online gaming - his friendships were mostly parasocial, including perhaps one with CR when he was 16 or 17 and she was 12 or 13. Combine that with a family with not much supervision & D's rise to fame, which includes money and power.....IMO this mom of CR isn't going to have much control over their tween/teen overnight.

Seeming OK that her teen dates someone 4-5 years older is something echoed on the internet, Lake Elsinore is a far cry from the privileged neighborhoods of Orange County a few miles away. You can't force kids to prioritize education and school overnight and by age 13 it seems IMO CR had other Priorities and dreams.

IF this artist and his team are involved I want to see everyone pay.

Squirrel!

Reads like a pretty standard disclaimer, with heavy emphasis on the impact on family, etc., but I suspect he's fairly accurately describing the extent of his day-to-day interactions with talent and would be surprised if he knew about or was involved with the events leading to CR's death and its (seemingly very basic) coverup.

Managers may work hard for their % but covering up homicide/ death of a minor seems far beyond the scope of duties. IMO, JMO, etc.

Think this thread will be closing soon and a new one coming. But, wanted to highlight the video with CR having a "holler back" with the neighbor after being pranked. Ya' guys should have heard me yell after one of my kids pranked me...."#$%@#$%!!! and #@$%$%!!!
and you are grounded until you are old enough to shave!!!" She obviously had no problem speaking up when something irritated her.... I liked seeing that side of her personality. She was sassy and cute as a bug. Maybe that was part of the attraction?
BTW...the neighbors reconciled the issue the following day.
Also, in reference to Mgr distancing from "the artist...." I get it....but the members of LE who opened that trunk are just as traumatized and they have families, too.

This is the specific product, I believe. They're basically like small blister plasters: Hydro-Star® Black Star Pimple Patches

Spotify also put together a short documentary on the artist.... they go into his background in music and how he skyrocketed to fame.
Oh and can we pls get past those hydrocolloid star face stickers his buddy is wearing one too on his insta- they're simply trendy.

You missed the point.

He used them to cover up bruises in his face. No one actually cares about the hydrocolloid stickers themselves.

This coverup by a manager might be plausible if D4vd was a huge star, someone that the manager depended on. He was not that: Headlining a show at History is not nearly the same as headlining a show at the Rogers Stadium. I think a lot of the work involved with being a manager could be and most likely would be done remotely.

Some crimes are conducted with more foresight than others. If, for instance, someone had actually taken Celeste's body in that Tesla and driven it to somewhere remote to hide the body, I am willing to bet that D4vd would at least get to complete his tour and release the new version of his album. (Someone smarter still would have used a car did that did not have multiple tracking methods, including a trunk camera.)

One consistent trend in all of this sad story is that no one was doing a good job of hiding any of this. D4vd and Celeste were a public couple, known even to her mother and to his friends. No one intervened not because they did not know about them but because they either did not care about it or were not in a position to do anything about it. There were no criminal masterminds at work, just young people with more fame and money than they had sense.

So anyone got opinions on his whole "Itami" lore?

I just came back from visiting California in the Silicon Valley - every other car was a Tesla... that is the first thing that "shocked" me - ALL those Teslas!! :)

So - no arrest yet??
Yup they are literally everywhere here.

I think certain cars are driven in certain areas, for example Buick and Pontiac cars are rare in CA but commonly driven in the Midwest and south.

"Hey guys we have officially named the blindfold character! his name is itami (傷み) which means pain in Japanese," he wrote at the time. "I have alot of cool ideas fully building out this story with you all! (feel free to leave conspiracy theories) the expansive d4vdverse is only getting started."

''He also expanded on the character in an interview with Mahogany four months before the death investigation. "The story of the Manga went like – I was a detective and there was an evil version of myself that would come out at random moments," he said. "Kinda like ‘Fight Club’ with Tyler Durden. He would commit the crimes that I would have to solve afterwards as a detective. So as the detective, I’d be solving murders that I’m committing myself."

His sheltered (he was home schooled and has shared how it has impacted his ability to express himself with others) childhood opened up the world of anime to him and he has shared how much he likes things Japanese. He's toured Japan a bunch. Itami and the corresponding anime were part of his Persona (which is also another video game). In the anime he had created there is a scene where the girl loses a limb. The girl depicted has long wavy hair. It's eerie.

This creator/musician is HUGE. The next Big Thing. Just because we don't know about it doesn't mean he wasn't skyrocketing... a huge cash cow for Josh the Manager.... he even played at Josh's wedding in Italy and his parents were in attendance. He had cross promo with Crocs.. fortnite.... other huge companies and they're all on hold. For now.
His Fandom seems to stand by him vehemently.

I haven't been following this case closely - is it verified that she was dismembered? I recall hearing something in the beginning about that, but then also heard that it may have simply been decomposition. I'm sure it wouldn't take long in the LA heat for a body to no longer be in one piece.

No. The only good information comes from the police. The LA Times seems to be sticking to just police information.

I think the police report says body was in "black plastic body" and "not intact." I posted the actual words yesterday. Here's a link (I think the LA Times may have used NBC's info):

I had never heard of him either but reading the latter bit of your post about the companies he had things in the pipeline with, one begs the Q...why would he muck all this up over a girl? I get it, he was pretty obsessed her but obsessed enough to off her and face LWOP? Or worse!? People who have no future to look forward to might be more inclined but this chap...he was gonna be a mega star by the sounds of things!

He will go for not guilty by cause of insanity backed of pathology yet to be released supporting either multiple personalities or dissociative disorder caused by social maladjustment from homeschooling or some tripe.

Prosecution have to prove mens reae.

"A person cannot be truly guilty of a crime unless he or she consciously commits a dangerous or illegal act."

so he's going to say his other self/personality did it or he dissociated to avoid culpability.

I accidentally left this part out of my above post haha the post from the tour account on 8 Sept he talks about getting a "random bag search" at the airport when he's getting his private jet (with someone who looks like his manager on the private plane with him) on the day her body was discovered?
Just another interesting coincidence IMOO.

Could we please have a link for where he talks about that please?

Thanks !!

The detectives and the district attorney are going to have to find actual evidence linking him to a homicide, first.

He is not a POI and we should not be assuming that he's guilty. Case law on mens rea is pretty broad. Whoever put her in the trunk of the car did so because they were trying to hide something and were capable of operating the trunk and getting a black plastic bag and squeezing her in there (alive or dead).

As far as we know, DB was able to pack, get himself to an airport and perform several times right after.
