The problem with that is he would have ran into a gas station/place to sleep way before the crash site. He had to pass a large shopping center to get there.. I believe there might even be a motel.

You're right, I read a little more on this case and feel that he was in an emotional state of some sort. Since he cruised the lake area a few times, it makes me think he was gathering courage to drive off the embankment. It seems like he was checking the area out too. I also don't believe that one pill for ADD would have affected him. I think it was another drug—a stronger drug, IMO.

They may have planned all along to retire in So Cal, and maybe Bryce looked into colleges based on where mom/dad were going to move to. Once they saw price difference for community college with dorms vs university with dorms, well that part would be a no-brainier for me, I'd quickly opt for community college if there were no scholarships.

From what I've read through comments on here that have direct knowledge, they were both retiring to CA, so I'm sure Bryce found a school to go to close(r) to them. I'm sure the community college with the dorms was a great option!

Perhaps you could look through Dragracerz profile at his posts to find where he told us about the gas purchase to see if there's a time noted.

I integrated the 3 timelines plus additional info from the timeline thread so I'm relying, as a baseline, on that info being relatively correct to date. Links would probably help streamline any changes otherwise I think we'll be going back and forth on all of our interpretations. Thx

nevermind. I went to the link for the interview with mom as someone suggested and she did state that Bryce filled up at the Oasis gas station at 12:30. Do we have an exact time that Christian went back and spoke with Bryce?The reason I ask is this: The southbound rest stop is only accessible to south bound traffic. So to return there after filling up with gas, would require him getting back onto i5 north driving several miles past the northbound rest stop, getting back off the freeway again and heading south once m ore on i5 Im not saying its impossible, but that is much more bizarre than him driving a few miles to gas station and then right back to rest stop.

No, he picked one all the way across the state- over an 8 hour drive away. More than 400 miles. Rocklin is near Auburn and Roseville is near Sacramento. His parents live in Orange County- below L.A. I live closer than him, closer to San Francisco, and it takes at least 6 hours to drive to L.A. from here, and that's without stops for food and bathroom breaks.

Is it possible that he could have wondered the other way without the bloodhounds picking up his scent?


Is there a map of the areas that have been searched?

I hate saying/thinking it but I really feel like he wondered off. Wether it was purposely or because he was hurt and couldn't find his way back.

I really hope that isn't the case but I'm just having a really hard time beiliving he's out there without anyone finding/hearing from him. Ugggg

I meant closer to them than him staying in Illinois. His parents were retiring in CA, so he chose to go to school in CA.

He also could have driven north on Buttonwillow Drive then East on 7th Standard Road back to the 5 south and gotten off at the south rest stop again. I completely agree that it is odd and doesn't make sense. Might be bad reporting or a mix up of information or it could be Bryce acting strangely and doing things that don't seem to make any sense. It would be nice to get clarification on the 2nd check in on Bryce by the roadside assistance man. I haven't read anywhere that states a specific time he went back for the 2nd time other than "hours later."

I'm also a little confused about it taking him 3 hours to get gas after calling for help. It was right off the 5 freeway and Calif freeways have a state program the brings you gas. Not sure if he called AAA or just a local tow truck. Usually when you get gas you would tell the serviceman your lame story of just how you ran out. Did this Christian person tell Mrs Laspisa how BL explained his predicament? And why it took 3 hours on a really hot day to get to him?

I cannot get over how frustrated this makes me feel. The article in it's entirety is four very short paragraphs and the final paragraph is COMPLETELY FALSE. This is beyond face palm, this is head bang. :stormingmad:

Buttonwillow, Kern County. This was the last contact his family had with him.
Because of this and other newly obtained information, at 11:30 AM, Friday, Sheriff’s Parks patrol deputies coordinated an extensive search of Castaic Lake, surrounding mountains, and the Town of Castaic for Mr. Laspisa.
Joining Sheriff’s Parks patrol deputies in the search throughout and day and night were Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies, the Santa Clarita Valley Search and Rescue team, Sheriff’s search/ scent K-9 dogs, and Sheriff’s patrol helicopter.
Because of the proximity of the collision to Castaic Lake, Sheriff’s Parks patrol deputies and LA County Parks and Recreation Lake Lifeguards searched Castaic Lake and the dock area by boat. The search included an LA County Parks and Recreation Lifeguard diver equipped with an LASD underwater camera to conduct an underwater exploration operation.
Deputies went to local hotels/motels in the surrounding area seeking information and notified local hospitals. Local policing jurisdictions were notified including Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Department personnel working at the Castaic Lake Recreation Area.
During the day, Bryce Laspisa was entered into the Missing Persons computer database as a missing person.

Okay, I have to confess that I've been "lurking" (as I've seen it put by a few others) for quite a while now. I joined specifically because of this particular case, and I can't seem to get it off my mind.

I've been reading about this case from the very first #1 thread on here, and there are just a few things I wanted to interject at this time, if I may.

My nephew was going to College in Tyler Texas this year, and one night when he was feeling very depressed, he got really drunk and drove his car into a tree near the bottom of a creek bed. He woke up the next morning, in about 8 inches of water, with a cut on his arm, and no memory of how he got there the night before. In his case, nobody found him or his car, but instead he walked for about 3 miles out of a forest until he found the highway (from there he hitched a ride back to campus). I am beyond grateful that he is still alive and well, and fortunately for him, he is currently in a rehab hospital for his drinking (as well as his ongoing depression).

I cry every night when I realize how this so easily could have gone a different way, and my family could instead be wondering how he is and where he is for so many weeks now. To Dragracerz, I pray that your nephew Bryce is found alive and well (and with some sort of crazy "college" explanation as to what happened to him and how he got into such a mixed up situation in the first place).

I know a lot of people are starting to doubt that this will end well, but I will continue to keep the faith and pray for his safe return until we have all the facts, and know for certain that there isn't some bizarre circumstance that has kept him from being able to come forward before now.

If this were my nephew (and God knows it most certainly could have been), I would have to stay positive, at least until you have concrete evidence showing that you have to think otherwise.

I hope I'm not in trouble for simply stating how I feel and sharing about what happened to my own nephew this year, instead of surmising about the facts and the potential end result of this case? But I just had to say something to get it off my chest. In my next post I will try to stick with talking about the evidence and any potential theories of what may or may not have transpired in this frustrating, and still very bizarre missing person's case.

Bryce Laspisa reportedly left his girlfriend's apartment in Chico at about 11:30 p.m. Aug. 28 and returned to Roseville, where he lives, according to authorities. Laspisa then left and was on his way to visit his parents in Southern California when he vanished.

ETA// So who saw him to know what he was wearing when he left Roseville? Was roommate home?? What time did he leave Roseville?? I guess the police officer, or the gas guy, Christian could have given the information.

Was any camera footage ever shown of him buying the drink?? Can't remember!!
