I don't think Bryce had any big major plans lined up other then to spend time with Kim therefore taking only a few belongings and had planned on coming back according to SD.

He was sleep deprived for 3 days, under the influence of Vyanese. He was acting so erratic Kim and roommate took his keys. From the minute he got his keys back and entered his vehicle everything he did from that point on was impulsive and not wise decisions. In other words I don't think he was in the right state of mind that led up to all these bizarre events that we are trying to figure out why. He was just jumping around place to place as his my was boggled. I know when I has insomnia for days I could not think straight and clearly. I was a mess.

The accident was the straw that broke the camels back. I think he was quite shaken up over that. I just hope he is found safe somewhere.

I think it might be a mistake to believe he was sleep deprived. If I recall, this idea came from some posts of SD's that we aren't supposed to discuss here. In my opinion, if SD didn't have contact with Bryce since that Wednesday before he went missing he would only be guessing about whether he had slept or how much sleep he had gotten.

I think he slept Tuesday night at his apartment as nothing would indicate that he didn't. I think he slept late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning at the rest stop with his air conditioner on and ran out of gas. He indicated to Christian when the gas was delivered that he had again been sleeping (either in his car or somewhere in the area) late Thursday morning. Some have guessed that he was also sleeping in his car around the Lagoon Drive address prior to LE making contact with him. That is a lot of sleep.

As far as being under the influence, if he only took one pill on Tuesday it would have definitely wore off prior to Thursday. MOO

The police searched him and his SUV. No drugs were found on him of any kind.

BBM didn't he just move in there a few weeks earlier though, or am I getting lost on the timeline?

re: the pot harvest, funny you should say that, I thought about it too. Our neighbor just got her "tomato plants" (riiiight) stolen the other day and she thought it's because of "the season" (because everyone steals tomato plants in October, right?). No judgement from me either, I don't have a problem with it, but I did wonder if the timing was somehow related (ETA: not that I think Bryce has anything to do with our neighbor's tomatoes... I just never even knew it was "harvest season" until I talked to her). Thing is I think he'd head North instead of South if that's somehow a part of him disappearing. Makes me believe in the Oregon sightings a little more, but it makes me worry about him more too.

LOL! Now, you peaked my curiosity and I feel like snooping around backyards!

What's bothering me though is that he left his wallet and stuff in the crashed car, right? Would he abandon everything and never look back? I know nobody knows but that's the troubling issue. Otherwise, the Oregon/pot theory sounds feasible imo.

My FIL used to live in Antelope. It's actually closer to Citrus Heights...

True. I think of them as all pretty much attached to each other (Citrus Heights, Antelope, Roseville). I remember when "Citrus Heights" split off, but I don't think of it as all that separate.

As it relates to finding Bryce, there are SO MANY places he could be even if he came back to his new home. Rocklin is smallish, Roseville isn't, then add in Orangevale, Fair Oaks, Carmichael, Citrus heights, Sacramento... it's not exactly a small area when you put it all together. My stomach jumps into my throat every time I hear about a body being found - which isn't often, thankfully, but it freaks me out. I want him to be alive, I believe for some possibly illogical reason (that whole gut feeling thing) that he's alive. Now how do we find him?

Is the town of Castaic after the lake? Why didn't he pull off in Frazier Park, Lebec, Gorman, Fort Tejon/Grapevine/Tehachapi???

No the town is Castaic and the lake. The lake is Northeast of the town heading towards Lake Hughes and Lake Elizabeth. I would assume he didn't stop in those towns because they are not very populated. I know the Templin highway and Castaic is confusing because of where Templin highway is. But Castaics small town is at the bottom of the lake.

Thanks so much, Quester! This 420 would suggest it is not a "place" but a "time" and so Bryce was late.... he was still driving, caught on camera then, IIRC? Also, it is most often "PM" not "AM"... can someone remind us of the license plate snapshot times? TIA!!

F 8/30/13 2:07am Castaic BL's SUV is captured on video surveillance heading toward Castaic Lake; driver not ID'd; no passengers visible.

F 8/30/13 2:08am Castaic KL talked to BL for the last time. BL told her his GPS told him he would arrive in Laguna Niguel in [at 3:25am]. “He told me ‘I got off the I-5 and I’m in a suburban area. I’m going to sleep in my car.’”
“I told him to call me when he got up the next morning.” He never called.

You can discuss what was brought forward by MSM. What has been happening, however, it that is then extrapolated to him being a dealer or trying to score from strangers.

If you read Drag's posts, he is wading through "hearsay" here. Other than dwindling MSM, he's really all we have. If we continue with this supposition, which is unfounded, he will leave and we will have nothing.

I'd hate to see this thread end up like so many others, closed because all we do is make bizarre guesses and there is no longer any MSM or input from verified insiders.

I don't believe when he was out of "it" at Kims that it was because of the Vyanese. After hearing how is mood was described and other info I believe it was something else he was crashing on. However the sleep deprived theory is confusing he rested for hours in buttonwillow. So how could he have been sleep deprived at that point? I agree he was intending to go back home after he spoke to his parents about his plans. But after rolling the SUV I believe he just said screw it I gotta get out of here. A couple of reasons if he had pot on him he could've been in a lot of trouble or thought that he could've gotten his parents in trouble because the SUV is in KLs name. Which would make sense if he got something out of his bag. He probably didn't want to be accused of being under the influence in an accident.

So it is your theory that he was heading to Laguna Niguel to tell his parents about his plan to quit school to go up to Oregon to harvest marijuana?

Also, why do you think he stayed in Buttonwillow for so long? And you think that SD knew of Bryce's plan?

Tony-- why would he go off to make so much money and leave everything behind? That's where it wouldn't make sense to me anyway. We have no proof that he needed money. His parents supplied him with an allowance. In order for your theory to work he'd need to be in a dire need for money. That dire need would have to be unmeetable in California. I can't imagine a farm pays much.

haha sorry I got you wanting to search yards. Hint: if you smell skunks nightly and there are no skunks living nearby, those likely aren't tomatoes in your neighbor's yard.

I had forgotten about the wallet being left behind. Unless it got tossed around in the crash that really does seem surprising. Personally I'd leave the phone behind before whatever I might have left in my wallet/purse. Hmm.

I think however the pay phones thing could be very plausible. Leaves everything behind and finds a pay phone who he uses to call someone for a ride. I'm loving that theory. I hope dragracerz can get all of the nearby payphones subpeanoed through their detective.

With all due respect intended, I would give greater weight to your theories and comments if you would kindly get vetted and verified by the WS staff.

I think that him and SD had made plans to move prior to BL heading down this way. As evidence would suggest that SD not 4 days after BL went missing was boasting about moving on Oct 9th. So I believe he was taking a trip down here to talk to his parents about that and wanted to talk about taking some time off school and heading up to Oregon. He breaks up with KS because he wasn't going to be local anymore. I know for some it's far fetched but step back for a moment and think about it. <modsnip>

<modsnip>. I don't think he planned to disappear at all. I believe he fully intended to tell his parents of what he wanted to do. Just because he was on an allowance doesn't mean the thrill and the opportunity to make a lot of money isn't there. I think he took off because he was afraid of getting into trouble for the accident and being charged with possession and being under the influence

Why did they do that? Don't they have to have a reason? Was this after the last time he spoke to his family?

  • #617
No these are not correct. The impression in the dirt would indicate the SUV only rolled a couple of times. I believe this is bad reporting on the media end and misleading. The tow truck pulled the SUV out of the dirt and you could see that at the top of the hill. There is a ton if brush in the hillside and if the SUV rolled over it it would've flattened it and there are no impressions in the brush at all.

There were photos of this road showing where the car landed and broken glass and coloured perspex - red and orange I think.

His family requested a well check be done before he left Buttonwillow.

no, not really, just laying that scenario out the way I interpreted it.

Just seems like a drawn out way to make an escape to an alternative lifestyle

IMVHO I still lean toward some psychotic event having manifested itself.

i may be wrong
i do hope he is okay, some where and his missing doesn't involve something more disheartening

You are looking at this wrong.

Ohh I see what you mean. So even though the only reason his parents found out he was even taking a road trip is christian you still think he was on his way to LN? After realizing he never told anyone he was coming home, I started thinking he was going somewhere else.
