From what I understand no pictures have surfaced of the SUV and where it landed. All I can see is impressions where the SUV was in the dirt and where the tow truck pulled it out and if they are correct this SUV did not roll down the hill and land on the boat launch road.
If it was not on Main Ramp rd, where was it?

Thank you all for your quick replies about the window and tool....

I don't believe when he was out of "it" at Kims that it was because of the Vyanese. After hearing how is mood was described and other info I believe it was something else he was crashing on. However the sleep deprived theory is confusing he rested for hours in buttonwillow. So how could he have been sleep deprived at that point? I agree he was intending to go back home after he spoke to his parents about his plans. But after rolling the SUV I believe he just said screw it I gotta get out of here.<modsnip>
BBM: From personal experience over the past week, I can tell you exactly how you can be sleep deprived if you haven't had a decent nights sleep for several days, even if you get a full night's sleep one day. From last Tuesday until Saturday night, I had only had 5 hours of sleep each night. Saturday I had a full night's sleep (8 hours). I had to make a 7 hour run down I5 on Sunday starting at 6:00pm, ran into the mess on Grapevine between 9 and 9:30 so by the time I hit Castaic, I grabbed a coke and finished my run (around 1:00am). I have four days before I turn around and head another direction, but today, even though I've had 8 hours of sleep, I'm still stupid. I drop things, I can't concentrate, I forget what I was doing and my head feels fuzzy. I won't be human until tomorrow. And I got plenty of sleep last night, it just wasn't enough to make up previous lack of sleep. Your mileage may vary. :D

The dirt up the hill in like a lip in the dirt. Had to explain it if you go down the hill before you hit the Brush it like levels out and there is a lip with a bunch of soft dirt.

I wonder if he ever used a pay phone before or knew any phone numbers.
I have been thinking all along that he has a "disposable" phone, some money and quite possibly identification and maybe a tablet. Perhaps these are the items that were retrieved from his "zipped open" duffel bag. Just my opinion...

I think that it's very telling that the parents authorised/(requested??) a search for drugs and alcohol. I think he may have been steaming mad at that especially given his prior charge. He may have been on his way home to inform his parents of his change of plans re.College but as he headed there he decided to stop off to blow off some steam (or whatever....) at the dam before arriving but has then crashed the SUV which was the last straw and then I'm going with RiverKings theory. JMO

The thing that makes me doubt the suddenly got angry theories is that Bryce was clearly acting oddly before he left on his trip. I say clearly because the actions and statements of his roommate, girlfriend and mother show they were all concerned about Bryce before he took off in his truck.

I know where that is if you are talking about behind the antenna enclosure, but that is not where they were showing the pieces of broken red plastic that looks like tail light. Hmm. Here are two screen shots of what the media shows as the crash site and a link to a video (I have a second video link that also says the car was found on Main Ramp Road). Is this not the location that vehicle was found? TIA.

Wow, gitana1, this is really nice of you! I hope dragracerz will take advantage of your kind offer. A video could reach some of those "I hate to read" folks and hopefully enlist more eyes to be on the lookout for Bryce. A great idea, really, and just when we need one of those!:tyou:

I hope they let me. I would be honored to be able to help in this way. I could do a compelling and sensitive video, no more than two minutes, that they could take and decide whether to use it or not.

I hadn't thought of this before now. Just trying to brainstorm. Cases that get a lot of publicity and public concern result in pressure on LE which can result in more action by LE. So I started thinking about ways to get that public attention. It's vital. I just don;t feel an urgency on the part of LE and that's wrong.

The 2nd shot looks like where that lip is that I'm talking about. If it would've rolled off that hill that high up that could change a lot of this about injury etc... But where they drag marks from the Tow truck are or were is up on the hill in the "ditch" where the lip is. You can clearly see something large was dragged there.

So you are saying that the truck didn't make it all the way down the embankment to the Main Ramp access road but rather came to rest in an area above it that flattened out a bit? Perhaps the debris in the road is from the tow truck removing the truck and not where it landed?

Riverking21 ~ If Bryce went willingly (and uninjured) to Oregon any theory as to why he wouldn't call his parents, if only for a second, and tell them he is fine and not to worry?

Since my theory was deleted I think all I can say is that embarrassed, afraid of the consequence of what happened maybe potential legal troubles. He put them they is before doesn't want to seem like a disappointment. Just thinking like a 19 year old.

From what I can tell looking at the area I don't think it did. We haven't see the report from the LE that says where it was exactly. I'm just going by what we saw in the dirt up there and what we were told.

Well, it wouldn't be the first time the media got it wrong. You said you had taken pictures. Have you uploaded those in a post that I haven't gotten to yet?

Thank you for the information. I'm sorry I am behind.

Are you certain that the marks you saw were from the tow truck? Maybe the marks were from where the vehicle rolled instead? I'm just trying to visualize it all, as I've never been to Castaic Lake. Going off photos that people have posted and trying to imagine in my head....and that's always a stretch LOL

ETA that MSM initially reported that the vehicle landed on its side on the main boat launch road, which lead me to believe that it did make it all the way down.

Right that's what we all thought until we saw the spot ourselves. The marks I am talking about looks like something large was dragged up the side of the hill from the large ditch where the dirt pile was. Like I said I think the actual crash is crucial and I don't think there has been a report released yet. I don't know how to upload pics from my phone. The pics I have don't show my truck in them just shows the site

Honestly, nineteen is not fourteen. I guess I am wrong, but I would like to think a nineteen-year-old would call his parents, or the police, and say he is okay, if he is.

Dragged *up* the side of the hill? So if you surmise that the SUV landes on this small ledge, you think the tow truck pulled it back up to the cell tower instead of dragging it down to Main Ramp Red?

Usually the spray paint marks on the road are from LE where a vehicle came to rest. Why would they have sprayed anything on MR Red if it didn't involve the accident?

Yes exactly! That pulled it up towards the tower. The orange markings are always on that road. They are always doing surveying and such on there probably getting ready to do construction on the road and the check in building etc... They did construction a few years ago on the other gate road just before this one that leads to the parking lot and dam.
