10News is just now talking about when JAG was arrested someone reported he had mud up to his knees. The news went on to hint that maybe he had crossed through the lake after the crime.

10News reported that JAG was a Registered Sex Offender because he had offered a 13 yr old girl a ride to school, but then got her into a house and started fondling her, later got her in a br where he did hit her in the face while trying to attack her.

At that time it was said he took no responsibility, and would continue to be a danger to society.

It's WAY deep in much of the lake, though. He ::could:: have maybe crossed at one of the edges of the 'finger' parts of the lake in what's technically like Bernardo Bay area (though not many call it that) - but everywhere else it's way too deep.

Plus, the lake wasn't open for boating, and it's never open for people to be in the water out of a boat, so anyone in or near the water's edge would have attracted attention. And by the time he did something with her Thursday afternoon to early evening, helicopters and too much LEO were out to have managed to slip past after that point, I think.

So I think that might be in terms of by the lake area by the waterfall or something. JMO knowing the area.

That's along time for him to have mud up to his knees, if the crime took place the evening she went missing...all the way to his arrest last night.

I am really upset with CNN! I normally watch them, and have heard NOTHING on this case....

Just hours before the arrest , the father said he had a gut feeling.

“I’ve got an incredibly deep relationship with my daughter,” he said. “We share each other’s words. We have the exact same sense of humor, the exact same smiles.”

“I know she’s still here. We just have to find her.”

Although he couldn’t share what police have told the family, Brent King said: “What I can say is the effort is breathless, speechless, enormous. I can’t think of a resource they aren’t using across every department. The coordinated effort that is occurring, I’m witness to it. I’ve seen it.”

I don't post often, but read all the time. I have not seen any real confirmation of the mud issue. Only that the was arrested outside of this restaurant. Also a short mention that the manager of the restaurant had served him and noticed nothing odd. I would think if he had mud up to his knees the manager might have noticed.....just thinking out loud.:waitasec:

Wow sounds like he beats them into submission or worse ...this makes me think how awful for Chelsea to run into this person.

What was the weather like? Would a hoodie have been practical? I don't think it's been reported what she was wearing. Since she ran a lot, she probably has a lot of outfits. I doubt anywhere would know what she was wearing... would they?

When he was arrested, he had caked mud up to his waist on him.

Can you please provide a link to where this information came from? If you heard it on the police scan site please advise.

My thoughts and prayers are with Chelsea and her family, along with the community during this very difficult time. Thank you, to those of you updating.

"A registered sex offender arrested for investigation of murdering a missing 17-year-old San Diego County girl is refusing to cooperate with authorities who renewed their search Monday at the park where she vanished Thursday."

More confirmation he's not talking. Don't these POSs realize silence seems even more suspicous?

It had been warmer for a few days, but had been cooling off and getting rainy again. It drizzled some overnight on Wednesday night, and most people were in long sleeves with layers. For many of us, 50's is cool, and it's significantly cooler down by Lake Hodges and in the far side of Westwood (in the area the other assault occurred, etc.) than it is even just a mile away at the freeway. As in, it's consistently 5-8 degrees different there than the freeway and what shows as the registered temp for RB. And by late afternoon it'd drop even more.

So a sweatshirt is certainly not out of the question for last Thursday...but SO many people run/bike/hike/walk/horse through the trails, plus the migrant workers who live and cross through that area, it really could be anyone's.

"Investigators searched a townhouse Monday about a mile from the park where neighbors say Gardner's mother and stepfather lived, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported."

Was this where the grandmother lived or is this new info?

He's capable of getting a innocent 13 yr old in a vunerable position and then attacking her for his selfish needs. It is very bad to hear this.

The news just reported that the 13 yr old girl was a neighbor and that he offered her a ride to school, but then got her into his house. They report that he was said to have been hitting her in the face, so it was a vivcious type sexual assault.

In the 2000 case the DA said,.....he has an unnatural interest in very young girls................

........a callous attitude and refusal to admit wrongdoing.

Sorry, can't catch all they're saying. 10News is doing a good job trying to answer the public's questions.

Thanks Kinster. I read she was wearing running clothes. Has it it been revealed what articles of clothing and the color she was wearing?

Oh, of course, understood. Water has a moderating quality. The area immediately surrounding the lake would naturally be cooler (I just learned this in my atmosphere class).

Aside from that, I wonder if it would have been mentioned on the scanner if it didn't look like a girls and about Chelsea's size. You know what I mean? Why waste their efforts if it's clearly not something she might have been wearing.
