Shortly after 1 pm human remains at the water's edge in a shallow grave was found.

Positive id has not been made, but it is a "strong possibility" they have Chelsea.

Sheriff Gore just left the home of the family

Is restricted in what he can say right now.

There are unconfirmed reports of a knife found near the body, according to San Diego 6 CW.

If this is true (rumor at this point), he's gonna wanna talk about Chelsea and Amber to try to get LWOP vs. the Death Penalty. If we can get closer to Amber through this case that would go a long way.

Wow leaving that much physical evidence behind he must of been in a hurry. If a knife is present makes you wonder if he almost got caught in the commission of his crime.

the site body found about 1/2 mi from parking lot,k covered in a shallow grave, was found up south of lake in a little tributary - the Sheriff is saying

I hope for her father's sake that he wasn't near there when he first ran the trails looking for her. I can't imagine how he would feel knowing that he may have been that close. I imagine she was dead by then, but still... :cry:

Her parents sound very devasted from what the Sheriff says when he went to their home to tell them of the discovery of the body.

I just cry with them. What a sad day.

found in a shallow grave near the waters edge. Body found 10-15 feet to a trail leading to the lake - near the shoe. They had been searching the area extensively, but didn't before due to grave. Spotted from the water - 10 feet from the water line.

South of the lake in a little tributary. Now doing a thorough crime scene investigation. ME officer has been called (not there yet).

Found 1/2 mile from parking lot.

Positive ID will be made later today or tomorrow.

Parents notiified before presser

Last seen at 2:00 on Thursday. Dad found car at 5:45 same day (3 hour 45 minute window).

Knife -- no comment on any evidence found

in solitary medical unit to make sure he doesn't harm himself.

I've labeled two photos with streets, etc.

On both there is one yellow area stating "access" - that is one area where you can access those back trails from Moon Song.

The OTHER access area is not really visible here, but it's where the Poblado road access area between Moon Song and Smokesignal streets are.

questions:

body was found in an area not far from previous discovery of evidence (shoe) 15 feet from tributary of lake... body was in a shallow grave. Took so long to find her because she was in a grave. spotted her from the water 10 feet from the shore line. SE of lake... not sure how long she has been there. will be doing a thorough investigation now. How far from car? 1/2 mile from parking lot... discovered shortly after one today. Discovery made from one of the searchers looking from water... after moving some small debris they found her. Arraignment still scheduled for tomorrow. Attack on december and november attack in escondito (could be more charges) late today or tomorrow for +ID; last seen left school on thurs at 2pm. body clothed or naked? won't comment... she was covered with debris. Family is devestated. Worst fears come true.

yes this is the area they have been searching for last five days... but didn't find it d/t shallow grave. the last time this heavily wooded area searched was last friday... not readily visible from homes on hill..

sonar did not help find the body. no more questions....

Wow people that is what the psychic member Mick said in his earlier post! He said he was looking down at the lake and that he JAG had buried her.
