Just so we've got a picture here on this thread, this is a screen capture of the Walmart video.

JAG.jpg

Somewhere between page 20 and 33 on the first thread, someone posted a picture of the Walmart molester that wasn't the one above. From what I remember, it looked like he was standing at the bottom of a few steps. Does anyone have that picture to post here?
That sure looks like it could be him.

I dont know if you can say this guy has a type or limit it to a certain age group...A PEDOPHILE IS A PEDOPHILE.... I believe they are equal opportunity predators. And without a thorough background of therapy determining what his sexual triggers are I dont think you can rule anything out. Especially now that he may be more than a pedophile and adding the title of Rapist and Murderer to his jacket.

That is contrary to everything that I have read. The studies I have read state that they remain 'stable' in their choices (which I think is an odd choice of word for a group of people who are clearly NOT stable).

I should add that "everything" I have read consists of three separate studies, not an overabundance of them, but I have read nothing to the contrary. Again, just my opinion based on what I have read.

I would love if we could just pin every molestation in San Diego County on this guy, but I doubt it is going to be like this. If he murdered Amber in February, he's not going to be content touching little girls in a WalMart a few months later then attempting to tackle/rape a young woman in December before murdering Chelsea in February again. Again, just my opinion, but those don't fit the pattern here.

They generally are fulfilling a certain want or fantasy and it is quite specific and they don't generally stray, especially not from a young child to a teen. The jump from a mid teen to a 20 (or 22) year old is plausible as they're going off of looks, and not checking ID's.

SWAG, there have been many cases where a murder conviction has come through without a body. At this point we won't hear what evidence they have, but the more charges they can swing the higher the bail will be set to ensure he stays in custody. You can count his lawyer will be fighting the lack of a body.

Anyone found a profile mug shot? They're taken at booking. That would go a long way to helping determine if it's the same guy.

The other reason I doubt that it's him, other than not thinking it resembles him at all, is that his attacks have been local. Kearny Mesa is a good 30 minutes away in no traffic. That makes it outside his comfort zone, again just mo.

i agree. ppl who are this sick and twisted will tend to do things within their realm of comfort, somewhere they know they can get away with it.

I remember that photo and I wanted to also point out your photo in this post has the square forehead too...if people dont think a persons hair can grow out or get curlier with lenght....it is obvious to me it is him. Maybe the police will find these clothes in his personals when searching.

I noted the square forehead too.

I have a grandson who's hair is very curly if he lets it grow out some. Right now a close buzz cut is popular with the teenagers, so no one would ever know how curly it really is.

I used to work the Sexual Threat Caseload of Adult Offenders and I have to disagree. Sexual Assault and Rape are Acts of Violence on Women not core based in Physical Attraction.

Pedophiles are a whole different pile of worms though. It's not necessarily physical attraction it's a "mold" so to speak.

Edit to add
They almost never cross back and forth over the puberty line either.

Well then you would certainly know better than I would. I was just going off the studies I had read.

Do they not offend within their comfort zones? Because the WalMart molestations weren't near Poway/Escondido.

Also, he is considered a suspect in Amber's disappearance. Would he go from raping/murdering a teen to simply groping little girls to an attempted abduction (or possible rape/murder) in December to an actual rape/murder in February of this year? I get the feeling he is a violent criminal. Would he be able to just grope a 5 year old and not go any farther? These happened in very busy stores and the rest of his attacks were outside (even if we Amber in this) or his own townhome. I'm just trying to see how this would even fit.

Clicked on his booking info, but no pic was there.

Maybe the 13 yr old (the crime he was convicted of) was a little more mature. This would lead to 16-17 yr olds. And maybe the 20-22 yr old looked younger than she was. I have a "well endowed" 16 yr old that could easily pass for 18-20.

What was the age group of the Wal-Mart was molestations?

That photo doesn't really look like JAG. I would be so angry if I lived in San Diego with all of those freaks around. It makes me wonder how many of these terrorists are in my community.

Are you checking out the National Sex Offenders Registry on a steady basis?

HERE IS ONE THING WE ALL CAN DO THAT I WANT TO GET OUT THERE. PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY BY BEING AWARE OF WHO IS LIVING IN YOUR AREA.

You just need the zip codes to find out how many Sex Offenders are living in your zip code, and you can see their photos if you press on a name. Some of these sites map it out by street, and have a picture of the RSO on your street.

Please if you have children you really need to do this.

National Sex Offenders Registry:

Advanced Search by Zip Code or State

Type in State then the zip codes you want to check out

When I worked in Probation in the sex crimes against children division it was heartwrenching work. Report days were extremely hard because the first days of the month were spent following up on those that had unsupervised probation as well as supervised probation. Of course with the earlier they were given more leadway to live their lives without being as accountable as those that were considered a threat and needed supervised visits, checks etc. On many occassions I would have to listen to these people talk about triggers ...one particular person told me that the little 6 year old neighbor girl roller skating on his driveway/sidewalk was soliciting him to do something to her by her mere presence outside of his home. You cant say that there is a mold but there are characteristics that alot of them share. One thing that I noticed was alcohol or alcohol abuse to be a major factor with the SO. I noticed in the first thread on Chelse someone spoke about JAY as having an alochol problem. Again this news did not surprise me.

I also went on to do Adult Offender Counseling with these offenders (court ordered) and that was a very challenging job more so than probation. There are no types Pedophiles cross all socio economic classes of people. To think that they all operate the same or have no mobility to leave their comfort zone is to err in judgement.

From what has been posted on this site from public records it appears he has been progressing all along with violence and no doubt escalation to murder. These perpetrators start the art of seduction very early with children making them victims. I would be able to shed more light if I was able to read his probationary reports that were prepared for the court on his prior offenses.

From last year
The man molested two girls, a 5-and 6-year-old, in separate incidents. On April 1, a little girl was abused at the Wal-Mart at College Grove, and the other on May 17 at the Wal-Mart on Kearny Mesa. Neither girl was seriously injured, according to the newspaper.

I thought the article said young - 5-6 years old.

Thankx srax - but how do you get to murder? DNA evidence will point to rape/assault - what else do they have that moves from rape on to murder? Large amounts of blood, brain matter, or murder weapon would lead to that (sorry for the graphic words).

As for the RSO's - ITA something has to be done. I started a thread in the "crimes in the news" forum the other day. We had a convicted child rapist/killer living in one of our parks downtown and it seems LE was quite unaware of it - until the local paper broke the story. Now they have arrested the guy "to get him help" - YEP! HELP - he's a vet so the VA hospital is going to give him a bed.

I did a search for RSO's in my neck of the woods. Within 5 miles of my house I have 597 of them!!!! Yep - and some are just listed as transient - when they do that all they have to give is the streets and cross-streets that they "hang around" on.

I like the idea of "chipping" them. And actually I can kinda see this might be possible - legally. We all know something has to be done.

OMG! 597 RSO's within 5 miles of your house! How do we control this problem? I actually do support the implant chip idea for RSO's.

Maybe not seriously injured but most definitely emotionally scarred.

Is this guy a pedophile, or a sociopath or both? A sociopath does not have a comfort zone, because he feels like he is entitled to everything. From what I am reading, he might well fit into the sociopathic range:
  • Narcissistic and grossly inflated view of their self-worth and importance
  • Lack of concern for the devastating effects their actions have on others
  • feelings of other people are of no concern
  • People are little more than objects to be used for their own gratification
  • Lie, deceive and manipulate
  • Impulsive acts
  • Short-tempered or hot-headed and tend to respond to frustration, failure, discipline and criticism with sudden violence, threats and verbal abuse
  • Lack of responsibility
A sociopath will cross any boundaries. It kind of feels like that about this guy to me.
