Scroll down...seems like these folks are searching a different area?

This afternoon, neighbors Linda Terrill and roommate Cathy Pozza started to hike into the hills near the home where John Gardner III, 30, lived in search of any possible clues in the disappearance of 17-year-old Chelsea King.

They were accompanied by Terrill's two teenage nieces and Pozza's grandson.

"We're just looking back here 'cause he lives right there," said Pozza, 50, who lives on Gillette Street in the Lakeland Village area near Lake Elsinore. "You never know, he could have dropped her back here. No one's been looking so we thought we'd look."

Could someone more informed about this case make a little "cheat sheet" of terms related to the perp that we can use to help search the net...? Like...if he uses steriods does he work out, do we know? Hobbies...? clubs, school names...names of friends reported in the media, maybe we could find him through them...

Anyways, you all know what I mean...I think ;)...lol...just perp details, key words, in one post, from those who know the info...would help alot...imo...

We've not heard ANY of that.

No mention of school names whatsoever (one person found one possible John Gardner, but there are many in the state with that name in different cities, and this school location was 2 1/2 hours north east of here)

No friends speaking out. Some neighbors, but none of whom at all identified themselves as friends, so IMO, they're uninvolved and not ones that would link him at all.

No mention of hobbies or spots.

Nothing.

Other than his previous incidents.

Listening to scanner also.

Just want to correct my own post Sunday night when the news was breaking of JAG's arrest.

10News had someone on say that when arrested JAG had some dried mud on his pants up to his knees, not his waist. Sorry. The way this was reported was as though it was a bombshell bit of information. Remember though it was pouring rain that weekend. Maybe it points to something, maybe not.

I hope Chelsea is found today.

I'd be heavily interested in what his mother & step-father have to say of his whereabouts Thurs-Fri being that he's been "staying" at their home. Just looking ahead is all to that information..

I remember from a book about Melanie McGuire (suitcase murder) that although she put some weights into the cases, it was stated that you need to put at least as much weight as the body (or twice the weight?) in order to prevent it from floating to the surface within a day or two...this makes me think she is not in the lake...

when did she identify the man? before or after he was arrested? is it possible that she saw his picture on the news in CO and was maybe swayed into thinking it was him? not sure if that makes sense

Yesterday afternoon on the John and Ken radio program (Los Angeles) they covered this case and said that the December victim was contacted and positively identified JAG as her attacker.

I would imagine that LE would have sent pictures of several perps along with the one of JAG.

I think his parents will have the answers to a lot of these questions. Not hearing from any co-workers makes me wonder if he didn't work, and his parents supported him.

....or "enabled" him! :furious:

Someone explain this.

Chelsea disappears on Thursday evening.

Gardner is arrested Sunday afternoon, two and a half days later, in Mexican canteen next to the lake where evidence of foul play was found.

His pants are covered in mud when arrested.

p.s.
Forgot to add - a 100 pound body is difficult to carry for any long distance by someone on foot, even if the person is fit.

Not as hard as you would think if it is carried on a shoulder. I grew up on a farm, we would often purchase oats in the big bags if the supplier was unable to get out and stock the silo in time. The bags weighed 50 lbs (possibly 60), I could carry one on my shoulder easily to the barn, back for another, to the barn, back for another etc for an hour (distance of about 40 yards)....when I was 10 (a girl at that)

Think about the adrenaline this monster had after his attack, he could have probably carried 115 lbs on his shoulder extremely easily, and for quite a distance.

I am a RB resident and have gone on 2 searches. They estimate at least 60 volunteer search teams went out on Sat, Sun and Mon. If each team covers 1/4 sq mile of terrain that is about 45 sq miles (if my math is correct). We are instructed to not divulge where we went or if we found anything of interest. Any discoveries are tagged, documented, pic taken and emailed to headquarters. Each team is debriefed after each search. On Sat and Sun we were briefed (pre-search) by Amber Dubois's father who was helping out all weekend. Many others in this area are doing searches on their own of surrounding areas. The volunteer effort of people, food, beverages, paper products, signs, etc., is truly amazing.

if the body is in the lake, why is it not floating?

But surely someone would have noticed a burley man carrying a body over his shoulder! Unless he went back in the dead of night, but by then the search was on.

Is there ANY other body of water nearby?

  • #235
PQ- A body can take days, possibly a week(s) to float depending on water temp. The warmer the water, the quicker the build up of gases and the quicker it surfaces.

just seems like it would be floating by now

Not very close.

And the addresses being given on the scanner thread are all right around Lake Hodges.

That's amazing that you were able to take part in the search. I will be going by the center tonight to see if I can be of any assistance. Unfortunately I had family visiting till Sunday or I would've been out there over the weekend.

unless it has been weighted down. Cinder blocks or huge rocks have been known to work well - if tied properly - lets hope this guy missed his boy scout meeting on tying knots.

PQ-
Nope, it could still be at the bottom, could be caught up in the reeds, slid under a submerged branch, tons of variable.
