how far out was the body found? what part of the lake?

From the scanner thread, they had 2 cadaver dogs on the bow of a boat on the South End of the Lake, and they alerted, and it appears they found her between 1:30 and 2:00p, PST. FBI Dive team was there.

OMG... My heart stopped for a second... So sorry, Chelsea, and all the others whose lives ended this way. At least now there is a body and a greater chance of DP. And closure for her poor parents. :cry:

HLN continues to say the news conference is expected any minute. I thought it was canceled? Sad news, but I expected as much with all that has been going on.

live coverage just said it has been postponed indefinately. I am sure they will say something today though... perhaps later after the family is notified, etc

Can't say enough about the determination of LE and the community to find Chelsea's body - everyone was terrific, right down to the amazing dogs involved in the search.

My heartfelt sympathies to all those who loved and cared for Chelsea. Maybe now, mom and dad can find a touch of closure.

Although it is a tragic, unneccesary ending, I'm glad they found her quickly so her parents can get closure, rather than her missing for years...

KGTV 10 is still live in San Diego.

They are saying her body was found.

They showed WHERE the body AND shoe were found, I'll update the map in one minute - they showed it by air and a map.

I was just driving past - having been gone for about an hour from online, and so didn't see this until I got home, but had seen the earlier reports of the cadaver dogs alerting and where.

There are two news choppers over the lake, but they are higher.

Sheriff choppers are lower over the lake circle.

Now ALL of the trail access points off West Bernardo are marked with police crime scene yellow tape to keep out, and ALL areas have cops watching the areas and keeping people out - including areas of trails of West Bernardo that were accessible before.

Several sites are saying "in the water" but from what I can see from the live helicopter coverage the individuals around the area appear to be focusing all of their attention about 10 feet from the water's edge (or even further on shore.) It does look like it is off one of the "fingers" off of the lake.

I was listening to the scanner when they found items and were getting LE over to the search area and discussing getting confirmation, etc., You could just tell it was something serious.

RIP Chelsea King. I hope you can somehow feel all the love people have for you. Prayers and condolences to Chelsea's Parents and 13 yr old Brother. This is very sad.

I applaud the searchers and all of LE. They kept going and going, refusing to give up. Now Chelsea can be given back to her family and have a dignified funeral. GB these parents and family.

All FBI agents and Medical Examiner are now at the water's edge and they are ferrying in some other people there. I'll mark off where they have taped off now right around it, as well on the map in a moment.

It's this finger of the lake where her body was found, and the shoe was found to the slightly east edge near this finger of the lake near the shore according to KGTV.
