I'm just glad I don't live in Illinois where it's 500 ft!

I enlarged the photo of the Walmart molester without losing too much clarity, and thought it might help to compare with photos of JAG.

Anyone know what page the 4 shot pic is on? I can take them in PS and put them side by side.

Thankyou! What's the house like? neighborhood? I'm trying to sleuth on JAG.........coming up with nothing personal.........like a job???

They're townhouses with a single floor. There's a wooden door which blocks entrance to the actual front door. That's where the :loser:was staying.

It's either on page 1, 2, or 3 of this thread.

Hmm, sociopath, go figure....

I hope no one uses the mentally disordered sex offender card, to try to get him put in a state mental hospital. That would be a travesty.

I doubt it. In fact, I know this won't happen. The media is making sure we all know about this OUTRAGE. Woe to him and his family now.

THEY'RE not welcoming anyone? No one but their murdering, sex offender son. That's rich. They better come up with a statement soon and it better be extremely apologetic.

Maybe they're busy looking for a new home in another city. They are NOT welcome in this community anymore.

Remember that darling little girl that was taken from an apartment building, Samantha Runnion (sp?)? The murderers mother made a statement as soon as they had her son apologizing profusely and saying that she was praying for the family of Samantha. THAT is the least this mother can do. She knew. She KNEW her son was 'off'. She knew he shouldn't be staying with them THAT close to an elementary school. She knew he had nothing to do with his days but lurk around.

Yes they're around the corner from where I lay my head at night and the douche-bag is no longer welcome. As a parent myself I'd beat his 🤬🤬🤬 regardless of his being a grown MAN.

I do remember Samantha case and you're absolutely correct. Parents sometimes need to see the reality of what their children have done....wake up people

Is there a source confirming the "douche-bag" went to the Circle-K on R.Bernardo Rd/W.Bernardo Drive, Thurs-Sun. Supposedly the police requested surveillance video but I'm not sure of this being factual...Gracias

His probation was up in 2008 so he was no longer being monitored. This means he had every right to be as close as he wants to a school.

So my whole self righteous diatribe about his mom knowing he wasn't supposed to be that close to a school goes right out the window.
That is just plain wrong; monitoring should continue for a lifetime. These RSOs just don't suddenly change into good people. :furious: MOO

Personally I think they also need to look into attacks at Kit Carson Park, which is just one exit up the freeway but on the north east side of Lake Hodges. Especially given likely links to Amber, as well, and that being another 10ish minutes or so up the freeway from the Lake.

Oh, I live just north of Escondido and I am not aware of the attacks in Kit Carson Park. Hmmmm. Thank you for posting this info.

EXACTLY!!! I talked about "chipping" them the other night. I do not feel this would infringe upon their "rights" and IMO would be a whole lot easier to monitor them and find them when a crime has happened or a child is missing!!!! Now I guess they could cut the chips out - but with technology as advanced as it is - I'm sure there could be some time of warning if the chip was removed.

We "chip" our animals so we can find them.

Lake Elsinore is in Riverside County. This happened in the northern part of San Diego County, about 25 miles from the county line between Riverside and San Diego counties, so JAG lived in one county but spent a lot of time with his parents in another county.
Thanks Leila ~ but I guess it doesn't matter much now that I've found out he wasn't being monitored since 2008. :banghead:

I'm going to have to call it a night ~ and send up some prayers for Chelsea's parents. I feel so sorry for them right now.

interesting update to this article:

People living at the Rock Springs East condominiums said they were shocked to learn Gardner had lived in their building.

A woman with small children who lived next door to Gardner — and recognized him from photos posted on the Internet over the past few days — said he lived with a blond woman and two toddlers.

The woman, who didn’t want to give her name, said the odd thing was that teenagers, both male and female, often came over to play video games at Gardner’s apartment. She said she could hear the loud games through the walls.

She and other neighbors said Gardner had moved out of that unit about six months ago.

I am heart broken for Chelsea's parents.

The killer should be served CAPITAL PUNISHMENT!!!!!

I'm saying he felt he had to get back to the place he buried her & throw her in the lake. A shallow grave is more likely to be found & yield evidence than a body found in water.

I thought maybe I missed a thread or something important along the way.

You know alot of people keep saying they dont understand the wet or damp pants...why he was still wearing them and I have a few things that may or may not shed some light:

As we said earlier...he only had a 3.5 hour window at the most. It could of been shorter because we actually dont know what time Chelsea arrived but we do know when her father arrived so if we reduced the window by an hour...he had 2.5 hours to abduct, kill and bury her. Keep in mind he had to stay concealed also while he carried out this attack and disposal of her body.

While alot of people blame the parents for his actions you have to realize that many parents of pedophiles know all too well what their children are capable of...so I doubt they were in the dark about his absenses for periods of time. And I am sure that his family members had to be watching television or discussing the matter between them. It would be only natural for them to wonder if he had an involvement once they were alerted to the situation unfolding. Lets face it who knows you better than your family? We do not know if he went to his parents house we do not know where he went but if you had been in a struggle I am sure it would be evident in your appearance. My guess would be he would find the nearest public bathroom in which to tidy himself up. Again it would be obvious to a parent if someone came in with caked mud without a reasonalbe explanation that they were doing something that caused them to become so heavily soiled. So, my guess is that the family members have been down this road with him in the past and did not want him bringing his trouble to their home. Maybe even told him we dont want you here thereby not allowing for him to wash up or leave incriminating evidence in their homes. I doubt his pants would dry if exposed to the outdoors as all of us know it was rainy and wet those days following Chelsea being reported missing if he was forced to stay outside. The fact that he went to a resturant and it was reported he was alone kinda shows that not anyone wanted to be around this guy. Im sure he went under surveliance quickly and Im sure he was aware of it. How could you not be knowing what you had done and knowing what kind of search was underway and what evidence existed. I would also venture to guess that he dug the grave with the knife found if there was a knife found. I also think that the burial site is not where the initial attack occurred. I am curious to see what the cause of death is but at the same time fearful of what that disclosure my bring.

Of course I am only hypothesizing and none of what I speculate is based in fact.

We have Amber alerts, Megan's Law, the Jessica Lunsford Act, and nothing has really changed - in fact it seems to be escalating.

Longtime lurker yet posting newbie. I've lurked here since the Danielle van Dam case so I know how smart you Websleuthers are.

So I want to throw out my theory and see what you think. With apologies in advance for going a bit off topic, at least at first.

What do the above three mentioned by SWAG have in common?

They are all named for females, and yes, nothing has really changed.

My theory is that these types of crimes, and the handling/punishment of the perpetrators, are not taken seriously enough because by and large the victims are female. If the epidemic were hitting young boys as frequently, our (mostly male) politicians might be goaded a little more into action.

I've searched for statistics on this and the most conservative I found that seem legitimate say that 1 in 4 girls is sexually abused before the age of 18, compared to 1 in 6 boys. (Source: http://www.darkness2light.org/KnowAbout/statistics_2.asp)

Again I am having trouble finding statistics on this--maybe some of Websleuths' crack researchers can--but I bet the statistics on prepubescent victims show an even greater gender disparity.

An event that I think proves my point: remember the Amish schoolhouse shooting in 2006? The perpetrator invaded the school and forced the male students to help him carry in supplies for the attack, then let them go. Then he proceeded to assault the girls.

Now imagine (with credit, IIRC, to Bob Herbert of the New York Times, his idea not mine) if the perpetrator had forced the white students to help him prepare for an attack on the black students, then let them go. Or vice versa. Or the Christian students to help him prepare for an attack on the Muslim ones, or vice versa. You can bet we would still be hearing about it to this day as an object lesson in what is wrong with our society, or in terrorism.

But (my theory) since the victims were "just" girls...business as usual, nothing to see here, move along.

And Amber Dubois? Do you think if she had been male, under the exact same circumstances, she would have been so quickly dismissed as a runaway despite absolutely no supporting evidence?

I don't.

Sorry to go off on such a rant on only my second post here, but I feel better having gotten this off my chest. I too am local (hi, PQ neighbors!) and although I didn't really expect any other outcome, the "body found" news today punched me right in the gut and I am pretty emotional.

Ugh, my program keeps crashing. My laptop is not happy with me today. Still working on the picture.

I doubt it. I drove home from the office in a foul mood because of this news.

As so many of us have said before, a sex offender is fundamentally broken and can never be made right. Like a defective product, return it to it's maker for replacement with one that works correctly.

And as far as I'm concerned his parents have as much or more to answer for. They knew what he was and they sheltered and protected him.

We're going to need a bigger wood chipper.

I hear you, but I still think a wood chipper (no matter how large we would like it to be) is way to kind.

I will never, ever, understand any parent(s) protecting a son/daughter for what they *do* know as a fact regarding their horrific behaviour. Ever. The only thing I can come up with, after many years, is that it is about how it is for them. Not their adult child or the victim. How it affects them only. Kinda gives you an deep insight to **deep** dysfunctional dynamics. Makes me ill. Literally...

Wood chipper. Not so much. I like the machete thought. A very dull and old blade.....
