No did someone hear post the name? But they deleted it. Maybe they still have it written down?

I dont know what the big deal is, esp todays day and age. :furious:

HERE'S SOME OF THE SCANNER RULES POSTED BY KIMSTER:

Juveniles: We will never disclose the names of juveniles. Ever!

Victims: Do not name victims or their locations if they are in immediate danger.

Players: Known players in a case can be named. That is why we are housed in the Parking Lot. Use your discretion to make sure information transmitted is not going to harm them in any way. For example, if someone is chasing down a known player in order to hurt them, don't release information as to where the player is located. This goes for anyone else, too.

Locations: Locations can be named unless disclosing the information could put anyone in harm's way.

Domestic disturbances: Do not list names and addresses due to the safety of the individuals involved. If they are players in a case, this is a gray area since most locations are already known. Use your best discretion and know that it is up to the mods as to whether these kinds of postings will remain.

Basically, we want to make certain that we do not spread information that can harm victims or innocent people. The information is out there on the internet of course, but we don't want to make it easier for criminals. Use your best judgment.

Remember that the Mod Squad will remove any posts that appear to be a safety issue and that will be done without explanation.

Thank you and happy scanning!

JAG's arraignment will be tomorrow morning...oh, this morning now that it's past midnite and I'm still up.

KUSI NEWS in San Diego will be covering how the arraignment went at 2 pm PST Wednesday. They said this would not be a very detailed process, like the hearing later will be.

I'm sure we'll get to see it over and over later. Getting sick of his face already, especially hate when they put it next to Chelsea's.

What Evidence They Expect to Present is going to be covered on 10News, but I've got to get to bed. Good Night Everybody.

Is there a source confirming the "douche-bag" went to the Circle-K on R.Bernardo Rd/W.Bernardo Drive, Thurs-Sun. Supposedly the police requested surveillance video but I'm not sure of this being factual...Gracias

I needed some time away from this and I'll finish catching up in the morning. I've not heard this, but I've been away from TV since 9 and missed the news at 10 and 11.

However, that Circle K is VERY close to his house, so it would be easy to do - both on foot or by car.

I'll see if I can find out more, unless someone else has already answered.

Any RB people on scanners hearing what's going on at Pomerado and Highland Valley Road? I live at this corner and there are multiple cop cars, news crews, helicopters..all of the sudden. This is just across the freeway from Lake Hodges.

I was hearing them for awhile as the cops raced up the freeway, but assumed it was pertaining to the other side of the lake.

Was it at the end of the Montelenas or by the bottom of Battle Mountain and near the pinery? Or do you not know?

If you find out and it's not in the thread will you be sure to let me know?

This has been eating at me all day. How did LE know Gardner was at Hernandez Hideaway on Sunday prior to them picking him up there? I saw today on the news that a piece of clothing and a knife were found very close to the restaurant. The thought ran through my mind that maybe Gardner turned himself in???

I suspect they had preliminary DNA from the underwear and were then following him a bit.

I don't think he turned himself in given he's not been cooperating.

My other thought is he may have tried to conceal something else (pertaining to Chelsea, such as clothes he was wearing that day, or even another case like Amber's) on the north side and could have been trying to check on it and had been spotted. Anyone doing anything weird would have been either seen - by air, by marked LE, or by unmarked, all of which were prevelant all over the area from Thursday night on - or, even caught the attention of someone else, further drawing attention to him.

I think they had reason to think it was him earlier than we'll hear for at least a few days, and that something tipped them in that direction and then DNA adding to it.

I don't know what to say. Maybe some of the others on here know more about digging info. I met someone who was trying to move out of Weaverville because there was so many near them.

which registry did you use? the national registry give FAR MORE information than family watch dog or even the local registries

We've been wondering about Gardner's background, friends, etc. Yesterday someone said they'd found a John Gardner at Rim of the World High School in class of 1997. I guess he was right. I don't recall the poster's name, but KUDOS to you!

Former Resident May Face Death Penalty (Update2)

Body Found at Lake Hodges Likely Missing Teenager

By G.T. Houts
Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Update 2 - Wednesday 4:05 a.m.

San Diego, CA - John Albert Gardner III - a former mountain resident - will appear in court today possibly facing the death penalty following the discovery of a body believed to be 17-year-old Chelsea King.

With regard to John Gardner being in San Bernardino County. I did find a John Gardner listed in San Bernardino. I'm not going to link it because I don't know if it is THE guy. But he (the alleged suspect) is listed as the III. So the person in San Bernardino COULD be his dad or grandfather.

From the above link, here's another morsel. Gives you another previous address, or at least a town.

In 1998, Gardner was convicted of disturbing the peace in Twin Peaks Superior Court related to what was described as a disruptive presence at a school, according to court and police records obtained by RIMOFTHEWORLD.net. He was listed as a Running Springs resident at the time of that conviction.

I was looking at Chelsea's FB this morning, and a moderator posted the following late last night:

Thank you, Chelsea, for blessing the world with your presence. You will forever be missed and never forgotten. Rest in peace. We all love you.

The family must already know the body found is that of Chelsea. I know we're all waiting for positive ID.

Hugs,

Mel

This is just fwiw, but I was reading some of the remarks on the local news articles. I saw some people say something about, 'why didn't the dogs alert?' They decided the dogs are a waste of taxpayer's dollars.

I was on the scanner thread yesterday about noon, at which time officers on shore contacted a boat out in the water because two dogs had alerted to the same spot. They wanted the fbi LE to look at that area. It was shortly after that the body was located. I understand the area where the body was located was difficult to reach on foot and there were rattle snakes.

This is just fwiw, it was a remarkable joint effort of all LE involved.

My sincere condolence to Chelsea's friends and family. I can't even imagine.

I grew up in the same neighborhood as Chelsea and am horrified by this story.

I decided to check for offenders in my current neighborhood in Los Angeles and discovered that the man across the hall from me IN MY APARTMENT COMPLEX is a convicted sex offender: lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14. Does anyone have any clue how I could find more info on this person? I don't even know if the crime was committed in Los Angeles. I think understandably so, I'm freaking out. I live alone. I'm only 25. I've talked to this person before.

Sorry - I'm just really really freaking out right now.

It is good to be vigilant, but bear in mind that CA is one of those states whose registry doesn't draw distinctions between RSOs. That exact same offense could be listed for (a) an immature but well-meaning 19 year old who "fell in love" with a 13 year old sweetheart, who poses no risk whatsoever to your family and (b) a monster like JAG who plea bargains.

Some states distinguish between violent and non-violent offenders. Some also rate SOs on a risk assessment scale. Unfortunately, CA doesn't do this, so you will not be able to determine which of the bazillion RSOs is actually a threat.

Here is a useful table that purports to review and compare registries. I haven't reviewed all of the entries to ensure accuracy, but it might be a good place to start for people who are curious about how their state's registry compares: http://sex-offender-registry-review.toptenreviews.com/index.html

Not sure if anyone saw this story that 10 News San Diego aired last night but apparently last fall..a couple in Escondido saw what they think was JAG watching girls running. This was in Jesmond Dene park on the north side of the city...only a few blocks from Amber Dubois high school. They reported to EPD..but is unknown what became of it. Heres the video link

Whoa! This is not going to be good. The more that comes out, the worse it seems. I hope Escondido LE has a good excuse.

First they give Amber's mom a bad time about watching this guy, then someone tells them he's watching kids at the park and they don't hear anything else about it?

PS............fwiw, from the article I linked earlier from SB County, reading local's comments is interesting. Some knew him, he may have had MORE contact with their local LE besides the one incident he was previously cited for. (fwiw, it was for a 'disturbance' at a high school' also, it was in 1998, AFTER he'd graduated from hs)

I think they need to scour every inch of that park. I have a feeling there are others out there...

I'm surprised we're still not hearing anything about the high school student who was running in Kit Carson Park at the beginning of September and was grabbed, but able to break away. There were 2 suspects, and JAG could easily fit the descriptions. This was within 2 miles of RB Community Park.

I wanted to thank you again for all you did during the search for Chelsea.
This thread has gotten a lot more traffice since yesterday so I hope you find this post!
You've been through an emotional roller coaster since this happened last week. I hope you are resting and taking care of yourself! You must be emotionally and physically exhausted.
