Any updates? Was he in the car? Is there a big manhunt in big bear?
I think he is gone from Big Bear. He might have highjacked a car (and driver) or had a getaway car stashed there and is back in LA. JMO.
The burning vehicle seems like a diversion to me.
I also think he might be back in L.A.
I noticed cops parked at several intersections as I made my way back to Long Beach from Orange County just a while ago. Different jurisdictions, and one unmarked police car.
The vehicle was first reported about 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of Club View Drive south of Big Bear Lake.
Gosh, when I look at a map of that approximate address, it appears to be very very close to an inhabited area. I thought it was way off in the woods somewhere. All the more reason for me to believe he had another getaway car there, just waiting for him. I also wonder how quickly after the burning truck was reported did the law enforcement people get there and figure out it was his truck? We didn't hear about it until hours later. I think he had plenty of time to get away.Don't know if this has been posted yet.

I can not imagine being one of the people on the manifesto that he is upset with. What do they do if he just up and disappears.
I don't care what the he!! his excuses are.Career woes, perceived racism fuel ex-cop's anger

Christopher Dorner sees himself as a crusader, a 6-foot, 270-pound whistleblower who confronted racism early in life and believes he suffered in his career and personal life for challenging injustices from bigotry to dishonesty........
Police say Dorner began carrying out that plot last weekend when he killed a woman whose father had represented him [and her fiance] as he fought to keep his job. On Thursday the eighth anniversary of his first day on the job with the LAPD Dorner ambushed two officers, killing one, authorities said............
In the latter instance, Dorner filed a complaint against two of his fellow recruits, but only one of the men was disciplined and it left him bitter, according to court records. He would later tell a colleague the LAPD was corroded by the racism of some of its officers.
Dorner graduated and served for only four months in the field before being deployed to the Middle East in 2006 and 2007. When he returned, he was assigned to a training officer, Sgt. Teresa Evans, who became increasingly alarmed at his conduct, according a summary of an interview with Evans in Dorner's disciplinary file.
The burly man with tattoos on his biceps repeatedly asked why he was not sent to reintegration training after his return from war and on one occasion, began weeping in the patrol car and demanded to be taken back to the police academy to be retrained, court documents show.
Dorner also told Evans he was building a house in Las Vegas and intended to sue the department after his probationary period was over a conversation Evans reported to a superior............

But, they shot it from behind. My personal impression-cops were on protective detail-protecting some potential target of the suspect. The blue truck showed up that looked like the suspect vehicle. I am sure they are all freaking out, especially considering on what suspect wrote in his manifesto on what is going to happen to a cop who will try to stop him during a traffic stop. It looks like they shot up the truck because it fit the description of the suspect vehicle.
