Maybe I started the manifesto and 3 paragraphs in my eyes began to bleed
and my brain started to spin so I decided to just read the cliff notes/ highlights ! Thanks ! :)

I was wondering because of the talk of him being much bigger and more 'beefed up' now.
Many meds for those conditions cause weight gain and less activity so even more weight
gain. Food for thought !

This is purely speculationg but I'm going to throw it out there and see what y'all think. Basically, last night I read up on the whole DC Sniper case. I was living abroad at the time it occured so I had never really investigated it a whole lot. Anyway, I know that this case is dissimilar to the present case but in the summary I read that in another "phase" of the DC Snipers' plan was to kill a police officer and then attack the funeral as they knew that at officers' funerals there are always tons of police paying respects to their fallen "brothers".

Could CD be planning the same thing with the murdered officer's funeral from RPD? I know it is purely speculation, like I said, but I'm hoping that LE are planning very heavy security for the fallen officer's funeral.

I'm sure that CD likely knows all about the DC sniper case but I'm hoping that he isn't "borrowing" this idea from that situation to use it in this one? I hate to even consider how much more devastating things could get. :(

I grew up in the Corona and Riverside area so this whole event has been too close to home for me. I've also spent a ton of time up in Big Bear as I used to be sponsored by one of the resorts because I ran a female snowboarders group.

I don't think he is on the mountain. I think the burning truck was a red herring.

When I heard it had ammo in it I wondered if it was partly meant as a trap, and he was hoping it might have exploded when emergency services were attending. Seems very odd to set it alight and attract attention. They know it's his, and would have even if it had burnt, and why worry about LE getting his ammo? Not like they have a shortage.Just felt to me like it has a purpose.

The Los Angeles Daily News cited anonymous law enforcement sources in reporting that Dorner’s grey Nissan Titan may have broken an axle after he lost control along an access road used for heavy fire equipment. Dorner took off on foot and backtracked his footprints before taking a different route, the newspaper reported.

Irvine police Lt. Bill Whalen confirmed there was axle damage.

“We don't know at this point when the damage occurred,” he said.

Whalen said that, despite the broken axle, it’s unclear whether Dorner is still in the mountains near Big Bear.

Investigators have been examining the truck to determine if it broke down or was set ablaze as a diversion. Police say the truck had a broken axle. Investigators are trying to determine whether it was already broken when they found it, or whether it was damaged when it was towed away.

Earlier Friday, another warrant was served at a La Palma house belonging to Dorner's mother. Officers collected 10 bags of evidence, including five electronic items.

Authorities on Sunday will offer a reward for information leading to the capture of a former Los Angeles Police Department officer wanted in the killings of three people and the wounding of two others.

According to a statement, the news conference will be attended by law enforcement officials from Los Angeles, Riverside and Irvine. Officials from the FBI and U.S. marshal's office also will be there.

The Times fails to mention when the press conference will be held.

I'm assuming it will be sometime today.

ETA: Twitter chatter says the press conference is scheduled for 1:00 pm PST.

A top target taking threats 'very seriously'

By TONY SAAVEDRA and ALYSSA DURANTY / ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER

While a killer runs free, Los Angeles Police Capt. Phil Tingirides and his family have been virtual prisoners in their Orange County home.
Tingirides chaired the three-member "board of rights" that stripped officer Christopher Dorner of Badge No. 19958, triggering what police say is a series of revenge killings and a manhunt covering at least three states.

Finding bits and pieces:

"Investigators found weapons inside the truck, suggesting Dorner may have abandoned the truck in an unplanned hurry.

Former LAPD Chief William Bratton told the "Today Show" on Saturday that evidence suggests Dorner's truck may have become stuck in the mud. Previously, it was speculated that the truck may have been intentionally set ablaze as a distraction.

Investigators on Saturday were also trying to determine whether the truck's axle was broken when they found it, or if it was fractured while being towed from the forestry road.
