Also watching HLN. I understood it was more like speculation that he may have shot himself.

At any rate, thankfully he cannot reign terror on anyone else.

MOO

I was referring to the reporter on the scene. But the TH's, yes they speculated.

I get local police notifications on my iPhone. I just got this one: "LAPD-Media: LAPD has not confirmed or made any statements regarding a body being located, removed or identified from the location in San Bernadino."

I get notifications from LAPD all the time on nixle.

Wow. How many sources are running with this and it's not confirmed?

Yeh, I pretty much thought it was a done deal until I got that notification. I was surprised when I got it. According to what I got, they won't even confirm there WAS a body.

NBC hasn't stated it is Dorner until now. They said they didn't want to report anything until they got accurate information from LE.

Fugitive ex-cop Dorner reportedly dead after standoff with police

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/report-ex-cop-fugitive-shoot-police-213309749.html

[Updated at 6:30 p.m. PT]

Shooting suspect Christopher Dorner, the subject of a week-long manhunt, has not emerged from a cabin destroyed by fire late this afternoon, according to The Associated Press.

Police believe the disgruntled ex-LAPD officer barricaded himself in the mountain home following a deadly shootout with officers earlier Tuesday.

A single gunshot was heard from inside the cabin just before the fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. PT, a law enforcement source who requested anonymity told the AP.

Fox News and CBS News both report that Dorner has died inside the charred cabin.

Finally, he wouldn't have it any other way. What a waste.

Anderson Cooper is saying multiple sources confirming body was removed.

OT: Is it just me or does anyone else think Anderson has been stuttering more and more as the years go on. I really like his reporting and am just wondering if he has a medical issue that is getting worse or something.

cbs2 reported that when they were searching the cabins, they knocked on the door, if no one answered they left it and considered it cleared, cbs2 said they didn't go thru empty cabin

How could this be? Wow. Did they think he would come to the door? :what:

Channel 9 just reported that a body was removed from the cabin approx. 6:30 and that the confirmation that it was Dorner came from an officer who was at the scene. All LAPD would do is say that in all likelihood, it is Dorner. So it was an "unofficial confirmation" based on one officer at the scene.

Also have heard on HLN that DNA will confirm. Nancy Grace now saying dental records could confirm. Probably all depends on how badly burned the body is. I do believe, however, LE knew he was the only one in the cabin and the remains are recognizable enough for a preliminary confirmation.

People listed on his manifesto, or whatever, you want to call a mad man's written words, can come out of hiding. I cannot even immagine, what it would be like, to be so worried for my family and even friends.

Personally, I am glad that he's dead. (that may sound mean, but...think about the trial that would go on, if he was captured alive).

It would have been chaos. Absolute Chaos.

With that said, the amount of people rooting for him, cannot be denied.

Thousands, of people have gone on line to root for him. What kind of crazy is that?

A cop, who vows to kill cops-gets a hero status online?
That's really screwed up, in my opinion.

Personally, I am glad that he is dead. Yes. I AM. And, the people targeted via his diary, are likely breathing some relief, from this Monster.

I am glad he's dead.

I also hope that he suffered, like nobody's business, for the last week.

I hope that he was cold and hungry. ANYONE WHO murders innocents, should suffer.

Well, I am not a family member, of those who have been killed by this crazy man. I cannot even immagine their griief.

The pain must be beyond description. Thankfully, this monster cannot come back to hurt any of them again, because he is dead.

At least the families of LAPD won't have to hide and be in fear of their lives anymore. Monica Quan didn't get that chance. RIP. Nor did Keith Lawrence. Two innocent people got caught in this twisted mess.

i think understand why there is problem w/ confirmations - as explained by kcal9 - this entire crime is not under LAPD jurisdiction, none of his week of crimes actall took place under LAPD - san bernadino is in charge of this - they are the ones that need to confirm, so the LAPD is leeking the story, until SBPD confirms it, so they "don't step on an toes" - but IMO LAPD shouldn't have anything to do with this, the crimes committed were in orange county riverside county and finally san bernadino county. i am sure SBPD has their reasons for waiting to confirm all that has happened and i don't know why LAPD is leaking out so much information. the SBPD did an amazing job today, they lost one of their own, they have worries that doerner had help from a friend and because his mom did own property in big bear, like i said this is my opion, but i do feel that they need to stop the leaks and let the SBPD do the job they are in charge of - sorry for my rant
