At age 3 and 4 I would question why they weren’t potty trained and out of diaper.
6 boys here, not a single one was under 3 and none of my boys are traumatized / in and out of foster. its very plausible they were in diapers.

Eisenhower was our President when I was born -- and I know how to block a number on my phone.

Foster kids are definitely covered. Any foster-to-adopt situation I've ever heard of included state health coverage for the child.

(In at least one state the adoptive parents can request a tuition/post-secondary grant, ensuring that the child can attend college at a state university.)

IMHO, excuses.

JMHO YMMV LRR
true but ppl can call from fake numbers if they know your number.

In my opinion the prosecution is showing that Orson and Orrin are nowhere to be seen on any security footage before and during that time period of them reported missing.

Clifton Taylor a specialist with Kern County Dept. of Human Services. He is reading a record of confidentiality of the records in your possession.

Showing the 5 steps to becoming a foster parent. Attend Orientation, submit background check, attend training and home inspections.

Other children in the home are interviewed when someone applies to adopt.Parents go through a series of interviews.

You would not be able to adopt if fostering is your main income.

Taylor is not aware of followups to see if they have same income after the adoption.

No guidelines on how much a person must make to adopt.

Typically money for each child adopted starts at $1,200. a month.

One resource officer assigned to each family and home visits once a month.

On occasion DNA will be taken from a child to establish paternity in a juvenile case.

Current photos of the child should be in their case files.

If a child goes missing here are no other means to identify a child besides perhaps medical records.

Foster children get medical evaluations once a month and babies every few months.

Behavioral issues assessed once a year.

Smith asks if there are rules on sharing photos of the child to other family members, Taylor says no.

To adopt the parents are asked a series of questions regarding their health, mental health and trauma from childhood.

If a child can not be reunited with birth family a foster parent or permanent home is looked for.

The process starts with reunification ending, child is freed for adoption and birth parents make an appeal.

Something is sent to the state to get permission to move forward with adoption.A meeting is set up to sign paperwork, filling out what the birth certificate will look like and financial assistance they receive.

Court is in 15 min. break.

AHHH! Here we go, Smith is establishing that the primary income of foster parents can not be from foster care.
The earlier poster was right about them buying the house and needing the income from fostering Orrin and Orson.

I have to take a break if anyone can post the tweets from KGET 17 news, it would be appreciated.

I am still listening to the trial and maybe Pommy or anyone else can update the tweets later if they are able.

Someone needs to teach me to cut and paste the KGET17 tweets from the trial. I have been trying to do it by hand.
I did the best I could but might be typos or errors.

I think I am the only one listening to this trial atm with the other 2 trials also going on.

Yes! But the problem is - the day they dropped the four kids off at Wanda's house. At any of the subsequent stops they made, only Trezell gets out of the vehicle. So it can easilt be said Orrin & Orson were in the vehicle with Jacqueline.

Our only hope is Wanda, who we haven't heard from yet. They supposedly took her to the credit union that day to withdraw money. Will she say there were only four kids in the van that day?

I'm looking forward to hearing the criminalist's testimony tomorrow. He's the only one besides the Lotus Lane property manager that I've heard say "can I refer to my notes".

From the testimony today from Taylor at DHHS, there should have been a home visit once a month in the 4 months since the Wests left Bakersfield and moved to Cali City. Therefore a social worker should have seen the boys or was this not done because of covid during this time?

Alfredo Baylaca from the crime lab will give testimony on processing the West's white van. I suppose we will hear about the item of the 2 broken boards taped together.

Interesting - so there are home visits made Post-Adoption?

Knox has pointed out that the once a month visit is in regards to fostering children and may not apply to adopting.
