You heard it here first a couple of weeks ago: Ayres lawyer wants mental competency tests. This delays the trial. If he's incompetent, he goes to a state mental hospital. If he is, he goes to trial and will found guilty:

As also note, Ayres had no trouble reading the New Yorker and the New York Times at the trial in July. This is nonsense.

Gives us all more time to find Boston victims

it is believed that a national media campaign will go a long way towards raising public awareness of physicians as sexual predators and reassuring any possible victims of Ayres out there that they are not alone.

PM me if you are interested in sending out emails to Nancy Grace, Glenn Beck, Larry King, GMA, the Today Show etc...to get them to air pieces on this case. I will create a generic email that we can all send if it would be easier....

He has to plead incompetent-he has run out of options unless he pleads guilty.

It seems like this man will never have to pay for what he did. Delay, delay, delay, I hope these attorneys are proud of themselves. THEY SUCK!

  • #245
Oh, Ayres has paid big time already. He's had his license stripped; he's been incarcerated for several days and he knows what that's like; he's shunned by the members and stripped of his membership by the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry- an organization of which he was once president; he's been stripped of both his membership in the American Psychiatric Association and his title of "Distinguished Fellow"; he had to sell his home in order to pay $400,000 to one victim; he's got four more civil suits pending; he's got the Boston Police Department investigating him as well... I would say he's been through a living hell every day since December 2003, when the first victim filed a civil suit. He's had his ugly face and his arrest plastered all over the media-the New York Times; Glenn Beck, etc.

Plus - he's either going to have to go to a state mental hospital or stand trial, where he'll be convicted. Not much in the way of options, if you ask me.

Ayres has had a free ride for 40 years-King of his little delusional domain. I would think that of any kind of criminal who has had reality come crashing down on him, this kind of criminal has it tough. He is used to being fawned over, admired, unchallenged and unquestioned. Now people are pointing out in no uncertain terms how he is pond scum who used his education and position to victimize defenseless children.

Some times, the truth hurts.

Hey guys-I have been busy posting all over the WWW using pictures of Ayres so if you have him set on Google alert etc...you should see some more outreach.

GRRR. :banghead:

Always hard even when you see it coming.

-sigh-

On the up side, They will NEVER seat me on any jury.

OK... not really an upside... I've always been proud of what the founders of this country have put together. Not so much any more.

I sat behind Ayres during the pre-trial hearings in June, and he was reading the New Yorker and the New York Times very carefully. This is a sham.

I still maintain that Ayres didn't know that if he pulled this mental incompetency stunt, there was a possibility that he would end up in a mental hospital. Bet he regrets doing this... so now he's gonna act sane and go to trial.

  • #253
I dont know Ayres but I have to believe that with his ego, he will go to trial because he thinks what he did was acceptable. Or that it should be because it was him. The God complex...am I making sense?

The arrogance his actions have implied to date is pretty amazing-he sexually abuses patients and then writes about how to treat/mitigate sexual abuse. Sort of like Mel Levine proselytizing about how to handle the adolescent with learning challenges, yet sexually abusing the same little souls.

This will not play well with a jury...any jury.

Did he do the crossword puzzles? 'Cause if he can do them, he cannot plead mental incompetency....I am fully in possession of my faculties and I cannot do them...:innocent:

A poster over at the San Mateo Daily Journal forum reports that a citizen saw Ayres two days ago in downtown San Mateo, by himself, walking along the main street with his walker, walking very purposefully.

If he's allowed to be out strolling on his own, then he's competent.

Yes, I think that this is exactly correct. His behaviors also match well with sociopathy; he's actually proud of what he's done, and it came off that way in court. You can see it even in the transcripts which DON'T relay the pleasure on his face when he was saying these things.

This is only a delay tactic. There is NO WAY he will be found incompetent, unless he's VERY good at acting so, and I think that he's not going to pull it off.

It buys McDougall a bit of time to chuff off his other big case (some brat that was going to try a Columbine repeat.) Just like Weinberg burned off months while he was piddling around with Spector... The reality is they're all quadruple booked, and they just shuffle the shells around buying time for the pervs and freaks they're all milking for money.

(I know... jaded much?):innocent:

I could tell by the transcripts that he likes to talk about it. Maybe he is dying to talk about it....if he is out and about, then his attorneys may not be doing a good job of getting him to keep the lid on. Wish I lived a little closer and could engage him in a chat over some tea.....

Oh, my God, if you want to hear Ayres enjoying talking about boys and masturbation, you should buy his tape, still available:

"The Diagnostic Interview"

by Dr. William Ayres MD

Length: Cassette Tape
Product #: ASA04

Price: $10.00
Availability: usually ships in 2-3 days

Ayres is giving a talk to a bunch of adolescent shrinks at a gathering of the American Adolescent Psychiatry group. This was in 1995. He's telling them what to do during that first consultation with the kid, and followup visits. NOWHERE does he talk about making boys take off their clothes. NOWHERE does he suggest that a physical exam be done, or that he does one.

He sounds very depressed during this speech EXCEPT when he starts talking about how boys lie to their therapists. He says that boys "lie about how often they masturbate."
As he is saying this, he starts laughing uncontrollably and is so excited that he can't even finish his sentences. He's really chuckling during the part as he says "boys say they masturbate when they really don't." He can't stop laughing and chortling He's practically frothing at the mouth. It's the only place in the 45 minute tape where he laughs at all. It's truly disturbing, and it's clear that he's getting his rocks off when he is discussing the masturbatory habits of boys. In the background, you can hear some nervous and rather bewildered laughter from the other shrinks in the audience.

Ayres and Gajdusek would have made a pair. I wonder if they ever met up? They would have never shut up about their favorite topic. Both are said to have become animated when they spoke of masturbation or semen.

Has anyone considered the fact that if Ayres was found incompetent (I don't see it), he might have been hoping for a cozy cottage at the Napa State Hospital. I believe that would have been the logical placement. Well, that plan's out the window now that the director, Claude Foulk, was arrested and fired for child rape of his adopted and foster sons.

Darn it, there might have been good house wine too.

-Erp-

That's about the 3rd good (ironic) belly laugh I've had today.
Thought the day was going to be really horrible. I even have a nice Lorazapam tablet layed out for this evening. In all, you've all kept me in good humor and busy. Maybe I'll just crack open a beer, and call it good.
