And this is her second pregnancy since the beginning of her charges. There will be two wee ones who will only see their mother on visitation days. :(
I thought about this and decided she likely never sees them anyway. She trundles them out as accessories. Being in prison, no diff: maybe they won't even be brought to visit.

WOW 11 Years !!!!!!!

Did she really think she'd get 18 months at home??
because she's "too attractive to go to prison" ?

The judge set a surrender date for April 27.

Damn, everything takes so much longer in federal court
APRIL!!!!! Lock her up NOW!

She will have had her baby though, and some post-partum time. This will minimize controversy around the baby thing.

I expect an appeal(s), which may keep her enjoying her salubrious lifestyle for some time to come. In any case, I hope they keep VERY close tabs on her, to ensure that she doesn't flee the country. There's no doubt that she has access to a lot of money, which certainly helps. Just Google "Fat Leonard" to see how a very rich man - under house arrest and waiting to be sentenced - simply cut off his ankle GPS device, and fled to Venezuela. He was about to fly to Russia from there, but was recaptured and is now incarcerated in Venezuela - but whether he'll ever be extradited is uncertain.

I agree about the children.

The second pregnancy was clearly calculated to avoid a prison sentence. How despicable can you get.

I think that she will not tolerate Federal Prison quite as well as Ghisland Maxwell. Maxwell spent months in the Rikers Island hellhole. I think Maxwell learned quite about about freedom and making the best of her situation.

Truth. Surrender her passport? Meaningless with that much money. She could go live on a yacht for the rest of her life.

I hope they take her passport.

No need for her to visit any off-shore bank or cryptocurrency accounts.

Doesn't she get released after serving 85% of her sentence? So she still gets the 9 years that was recommended .

Other people are perfectly capable of raising her children, as Heather Mack is also finding out.

Hey, maybe they can re-open Alcatraz, so that she can stay in the Bay Area???? San Quentin also has a nice Bay view according to Scott Peterson.

So she was crying with her speech. Crying for herself because she was starting to doubt she's get 18 months at home.
I'm not convinced she was sincere in her so called apology. imo

Was she ever sincere??? This woman has been a con artist at least since her days at Stanford.

So she'll have her child prior to incarceration. I feel so back for these babies. It seems like they were just a way for her to attempt to garner sympathy and that totally failed. I hope that they are loved by their father and his family.

I've added to my earlier post, mentioning "Fat Leonard", a wealthy man who fled San Diego while under house arrest, and is now in Venezuela. Apparently his passport was taken by the authorities, but one of the officials admitted that someone with money could find a way...

I would say, before she was an undergraduate there. I never trusted the idea she got into Stanford because she spoke Mandarin and/or did Stanford's summer school in China thing, as though this was something special and extraordinary. Newsflash: most undergraduates at elite universities in the US have some level of fluency in a foreign language. Some speak many languages. In that context, it's not clever; it's normal. Just sayin'.

An appeal is going to go nowhere. Judge Davila was far too thorough, including today.
