Ha just saw all my typos here. This should have said

Jake’s ex filed a restraining order
FWIW, I rely on WSers being fluent in Typo.

I make so many mistakes that I have to accept everyone assumes I cannot spell and flunked grammar.

Another lawyer who should just shut-up.

"A lawyer that has been representing Jake Haro said he didn’t know much about the arrest and charges, and was still trying to get in touch with his client.

But defense lawyer Vincent Hughes told The Post that Jake Haro has denied any involvement in his child’s disappearance.

Hughes is only speaking on behalf of the father — and not also the mother — to avoid any potential conflicts of interest. He said he has represented the father in past criminal cases.

Hughes insisted there shouldn’t be a nexus between the past criminal charge and the new legal trouble his client is now facing.
“The criminal justice system is about reform, he completed the child abuse class, he did what he was told to do. I don’t really see how if somebody has a charge, any future charge means that they did it,” he said as the attorney complained he’s faced a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 of death threats and verbal abuse since the missing child case gained traction.

“I’m being completely dragged through the mud because I’m giving somebody what they are constitutionally protected and afforded it,” said Hughes".

Oh, poor guy. Sometimes I think we get it…..defense lawyers are holding up constitutional laws, etc. when fighting for their clients. I don’t give a sh*t here.

Glad we are the same people 👊🏻

Previously, I thought they perhaps "laid him to rest" somewhere hidden. I no longer think that.

I now doubt his little body, whole or in parts, will ever be found.

And that ugly truth might be what binds them in unity. How could you ever admit that?

jmopinion
I agree, Emmanuel is unlikely to be found. Because it’s also likely he hasn’t been alive for a month or more.

Hopefully we learn more from their court appearance on Tuesday.

This looks so swat team-like! Does that mean they thought there might be weapons, or is this usual for a home arrest out there? If that makes sense 🥴
Jake had a court hearing on Sept 2 for a probation violation. Felon in possession of a gun. Nothing to do with this case, it was prior to Emmanuel going missing. So it makes sense how LE prepared for his arrest.

BBM

IMO, if looking through the lens of marriage stereotypes, she kept the clothes clean and white while he let the house crumble around them.
My opinion as well after LoveyG posted that…wouldn’t be surprised if he was controlling about that.

Could be, but overthinking this further...

His "excuse" for his 10-week old baby's injuries was that he dropped her on the sink while bathing. He portrayed himself as the good daddy attending to the cleanliness of his baby.

The mom's story about the fake kidnapping was she was busy getting a diaper-change prepared. She portrayed herself as the good mommy attending to the cleanliness of her baby.

Again, I'm not making any grand conclusions, just noticing these spots of cleanliness in their white attire and excuses.

Maybe they use a lot of bleach. On their clothes that is.

Pretty much SOP when making a high-profile arrest on a perp with background of violence, having guns and also the "high ground" so to speak if they wanted to fire on you. Primarily for officer safety.

He had previous weapons charges so they expected there would be weapons. And they were arresting two murderers---that often ends with hostages or altercations or attempts to flee.

It’s the document from riverside court showing that Jake’s ex filed a restraining order this week against him.

IMO she spoke to police against them and then got afraid or was afraid for her child because of the circumstances. Some version of this
Thank you, just a little more coffee needed over here!

Hoping there will be cameras in the courtroom Tuesday. Not that I expect they will be able to make bond, but his previous record pretty much eliminates this possibility.

I'd be shocked if they are allowed bond. Sure hope not, but now Jake has a huge felony charge and even his mouthpiece might not be able to overcome it.

Absolutely. Between Jayden and Emmanuel, these weeks have been extra tough for me around here!

Or even murder-suicide. This arrest went as well as is possibly could, given the knowns and unknowns of the situation.

I'm relieved they both are behind bars and forever separated.

I keep thinking how she had the opportunity in that car on the drive to Big 5 to do the right thing and alert LE while she was away from JH. But, she didn't. I have a hunch the jury will notice that too.

" 'Based on the evidence,
investigators determined a kidnapping in Yucaipa did not occur.
It is believed Emmanuel is deceased, and the search to recover his remains is ongoing',
Sheriff Shannon D. Dicus said in a statement.

Police raided the home after arriving at the home in tanks and cruisers
before taking them at Riverside County jail without bail."

A quick search says cameras are not allowed so, likely not.

Stupid question:

If they are legally married, which I think they are, and they eventually are both convicted and in separate prisons, are they at some point going to be allowed conjugal visits?

Because I panic at the idea that either can ever have another child together, even if they don’t get to raise that child.

I know I sound dumb because I THINK conjugal visits would be when the spouse is not also in prison.

The two-year old daughter that he was carrying when they did their fake crying and begging actually seemed fine to me. Maybe she was their favored child.

Excuse my ignorance. I really hope they never get to even see each other again.

It defies any reasonable explanation that JH was treated so lightly for the child cruelty that resulted in such devastating and disabling injuries to his then-10-week-old daughter. Surely what happened to her is repetitive felony battery with aggravating circumstances (given that it was a young and defenseless infant victim who was in his care). Had he injured a non-family member adult so severely, one has to believe he'd have been incarcerated for a very long time. Instead, he served six months followed by 4 years probation for his June 2023 conviction. Probation which apparently did not include such reasonable measures as occasional checks to make sure children living under his care in his home were safe.

June 2023 conviction. Six months incarceration = released December 2023. Emmanuel was 7 months old when his disappearance was reported, so was presumably born around January 2025 and conceived around April 2024 (in the fourth month after JH's release from incarceration).

At the very LEAST, any deal that released JH into the community should have involved a vasectomy to ensure he could not produce more children to victimize behind the walls of his home and some kind of registration as a violent risk to children so others had fair warning to keep their distance and protect their children from him. More reasonably, he should have been locked up for life.

Link includes info re JH's conviction and penalty:

Exactly, I doubt he will use the dollar store attorney going forward. It will be someone from the public defender’s office.

Was he even working?
