Do yall think that LE may add child abuse charges to the current case or charge them separately if it's related to the 2 year old ? I was wondering if they would not even bother with charges since they have murder charges but they went out the day before the murder arrest so maybe they aren't going to let this couple get away with anything ?

I think they will be separate cases and I don't think one will go away because of the other. imo

It might take a minute for the child abuse charge to develop if a report was just made but I’d think they would still charge

It's quite possible.I am just not totally certain yet. She has TWO big black eyes in her mug shot.

It's only because I know of one woman, a long time family friend, who was battered and abused by her husband, for years. and she stayed quiet while he was stealing from her parent's business, and while he yelled at their kids. And he beat her repeatedly.

To her credit, the first time she saw him swing at their 13 yr old son, she managed to escape with both kids and a go bag she had already prepared. But she did get charged with stealing from the business and lost custody of her kids for a year, while she worked with CPS to get them back.

While she was with him, she was like an emotional zombie. He controlled her like a toy car. She did whatever he said, jumped to it, no questions asked. She was terrified. But she stole company checks from her family because he told her to. I was shocked, but now, 10 years later, I understand because she explained it pretty well.


I have no idea about Rebecca/ she may have killed the baby. IDK. It is very very hard not to see her as totally guilty in this case. She probably is.

But if she was to get a deal, with less time, for testifying against him, I'd be OK with it, if it turns out he was the one doing the violent acts.

I believe that the father fatally harmed the child the day prior and because he is already in legal trouble concocted this story for her to tell. There is not sadness in her face but intense fear. Fear that if I don’t tell this story, what happened to baby Emmanuel will happen to me too. This to me, is a very terrifying man. IMHO.

That is a fair take, imo. I can understand she was likely stuck.

But, imo, that changed once the kidnapping scam went into action. I just can't get past the fact she had opportunities in the past week to come clean and be free of him, and she didn't take them.

In the end, I could accept a deal if she speaks the truth about him. He must NEVER be let out again. He is a clear and proven danger. (Yes, she is too, even if her involvement was in the cover-up not the murder. I am not defending her.)

I actually worried she would be killed during the time before the arrest, despite that being an unpopular concern here on the thread. Now, my worry is over since behind bars she is safe from him. But her safety could've happened a week earlier.

OMG I was just thinking WS should advocate for laws to protect victims.....AND hold judges to the fire and expose their protection of criminals over victims. It has to stop. And this poor boy deserved better. And plea deals have to be more harsh.

I hope that if indeed RH is offered a deal, telling them where Emmanuel is will be a condition of the deal.

I hope no plea deal and she goes to prison.

If not will she continue to pick losers and make more babies??

And not only to her, but to her other child. To me, until the two-year old was taken to safety, I can totally understand why she would go along with the plan and not say anything to police for fear that he would harm her surviving child. It would be horrifying to have to protect the murderer of your child in order to keep your other child safe.

Afterwards, though, I feel less sympathy, but I still wonder if she had been convinced that no one would believe her. Especially, if he could point to his ex-wife’s case as proof that she would be blamed too if she said anything.

I hope that she will come clean about everything now that he is behind bars and can’t get to her or her other child.

(I also think it’s entirely possible that she was complicit, but I’m not ready to say that until I know more about the situation she was in and about how much time passed between Emmanuel’s death and the fake kidnapping story.)

If so, this actually makes me wonder if the kidnapping story was a change in plans. Maybe once he died, they originally planned to just erase all traces of him and hope there wouldn’t be too many questions and eventually he’d be forgotten. Obviously this is a flawed plan, but these two are clearly not masterminds. I wonder if there was an event shortly before 8/14 that made them decide they needed to make up the kidnapping story. Maybe the recent family funeral the grandmother mentioned?

I totally get what you are saying. I used to be so mad at my friend, we'd see her 'make up" attempts to cover bruises and hand marks on her arms. We'd beg her to leave and she'd act like she didn't know what we were talking about.

Years later when she finally broke free and he was incarcerated for extortion and domestic violence, she eventually explained it better. She was terrified because he always reminded her that he would have joint custody if she left him. And he promised to make her and the kids miserable if she tried. She said she knew he would kill her kids if she tried to defy him. And it kept her imprisoned. She was petrified.

At 5:43 in case anyone wondered. Although a Sawzall being used in connection with this case is sort of like using a sledge hammer to hang a picture hook. That baby was so tiny, there'd be no need for such a powerful tool.

As to whether HR is a victim as well, I've wondered the same as all of you. However, since being arrested she's had opportunity to tell LE where this precious baby is, and she hasn't done that (since they've stated they're still searching for him). So for me, that sort of blows her potential victimhood right out of the water.

If you mean for the August family funeral, they already did that and JH/RH donated $300 if I recall the $ amount correctly. It has been taken down but was still up the week Emmanuel was reported missing.

JH also created a Go Fund Me for his brother who was the 2021 unattended death at their house. It's not a linkable website here but it is still up today.

If you mean for "Free Rebecca!" or "Justice for Jake!" that hasn't happened yet AFAIK but I wouldn't put it past them, especially RH's mother who created a FB page along those lines for her son who murdered his girlfriend.

If you mean for funeral expenses or other fundraising to benefit Emmanuel, I deeply doubt this family will do that for him, but I bet members of the community will if his remains are found.

But what if she genuinely doesn’t know where he is? I can imagine a scenario in which JH hid Emmanuel’s body in a location (or locations, sadly) unknown to her so that even if she turned on him, there could be no physical evidence that could possibly prove which one of them did it. I think he is counting on the ambiguity to help him out like it did last time.

I'm screaming in my head why oh why wasn't this man given life without parole /DP for what he did to his 10 week old daughter. How in Gods name did he walk away from that. I know we have all seen cases where people get off for all manners of crimes. And you seen the ones that get off because they have money for high power defense teams. But this ain't that even. How in the world?
And at some point will this miscarriage of Justice be made right. Or as right as it could be made.
When you see pictures of his baby girl in the hosptal and see her now at seven years old..For me at least.. I understand why the DP exist! All JMO
